Veronika’s Piano Studio

My five year old daughter has been taking lessons with Veronika for over half a year and we feel very fortunate to have found her. Because my daughter is only five, I wanted her to be in a warm and inviting environment where she could begin learning to play the piano. From the outset, Veronika’s approach to instructing my daughter has been clearly tailored to her age and experience, from helping nurture a love of music and the piano, to helping build strength in her fingers, to making every song and practice fun and exciting. Even as she makes every lesson enjoyable and interesting, Veronika is very focused and disciplined and in turn keeps my daughter focused and disciplined so that she may grow as a musician (she keeps me as a parent disciplined also!). I can’t express how wonderful it is to see my daughter beam with pride as she plays more and more challenging pieces; it is all thanks to Veronika!

My 5 y/​o daughter and I started piano lessons with Veronika Since November of last year. After having piano lessons with another instructor for 6 months, it is quite obvious that we have an excellent teacher. Veronika focuses a lot with technique and playing piano the right way to prevent injuries and to maximize your learning techniques. Anyone can learn notes but it is her guidance of how our hands and fingers should be that I find invaluable. A very patient, detail oriented teacher really helps to make sure we are doing it right, other wise, wrong technique is a hard habit to break down the road.
She is also very creative in teaching my 5 y/​o. She recommends book that is age appropriate. and very patient with her.
.She is very flexible with time and makeups as well as very convenient location for us. Her price is reasonable and best part, I really feel her enthusiasm in teaching that she really wants her students to learn. I recommend her highly.

I’ve been taking lessons from Veronica for about 3 months. As a guy in his early thirties who just decided to start taking lessons one day with no music background, she has been very helpful and patient. Veronika is highly attune to your child, or you as an adult for that matter, attentive and an authentic person with an immense talent for piano and teaching. I couldn’t have been luckier to have found her!

I am an adult beginner piano player and have had several piano instructors in the past, but, was never quite satisfied with their teaching abilities. Veronika changed all of that. She is patient, understanding, and, most of all, you can tell teaching piano is her life. All of the instructors I have had in the past would give me the impression that teaching piano was simply their ‘day job’ so they could pay the bills, etc. Veronika is different. She actually cares about her students and will go out of her way to make the lessons both fruitful and advantageous to her students. If you are looking for a piano instructor that loves to teach and is great at doing it, you’ll be very happy with Veronika. And, to top it off, she is an amazing piano player as well! :)

I’ve known Veronika for 15 years and throughout that entire time she has always been active, in one form or the other, in music education. An excellent choir director, children’s chorus leader, and patient piano instructor, she is a great resource for musical instruction! Don’t pass up the chance to study under her!!!

Veronika has been teaching piano to my five year old son as well as my two adult cousins for over a year. I have been astonished by how quickly my son and cousins have bloomed in their musical development – they quickly started playing interesting pieces from a variety of genres. Veronika tailored her teaching and the assignments around my cousins and son’s interests, actively looking for songs that appealed to them while providing well-​scaffolded musical development. As a result my son and cousins have been playing bluesy numbers, ethnic folk songs, classical works, and popular songs from nursery rhymes to the Beatles. Throughout the lessons, Veronika teaches real music reading and traditional piano playing techniques in staged, developmentally appropriate ways – she never uses beginner piano tricks or shortcuts that then need to be unlearned later when the student moves on to more advanced material.
Most importantly, Veronika is a kind instructor: she is patient with children and appreciative of their silly jokes, but she also keeps a solid grasp on the goals of the piano class and keeps the lesson moving forward. Veronika checks in with my child about whether he would like to play this piece or the next, offering choices that allow my son to participate more actively in his musical education. I’ve particularly appreciated how Veronika maintains a balance of pieces my son can comfortably learn and play, as well as pieces that challenge him and, though hard effort, bring him up to the next level.
Finally, Veronika is very fair and clear about the business end of teaching piano. She’s very thoughtful about her pricing and offers different price structures to match different needs – with or without make-​ups, paid per session or paid per time. In my experience, Veronika’s lessons are more than fairly priced, especially given the very high quality of her teaching.

I took piano lessons as a little girl and then 50 years later started lessons again with Veronika. I wanted to be able to play a few easy classical pieces for my own enjoyment. It has been a challenging, humbling and thoroughly rewarding experience. While Veronika indeed helps with figuring out the notes and the fingering, the greatest benefit of working with her is her guidance with the interpretation. She has a great ear for how a piece should sound and gently guiding me there. She’s honest and encouraging about where I need to improve and also generous with her compliments on a piece well played. Going on five years of lessons with Veronika, I now have a respectable repertoire of pieces that I can play to my satisfaction and a great sense of accomplishment.

My son, a first grader, recently started his second year of lessons with Veronika. Her great talent lies in teaching fundamentals while sharing her joy of playing piano and her love of music. My son is learning proper technique and sight reading. He has advanced to his third set of instruction books. And he is happy going lessons and practicing.
