I wrote a recently review about UCLA Urology and I am now updating my review due to another terrible experience. My father had a guided prostate MRI last week, this is his 2ndMRI at UCLA Radiology. This time since it was a more specific imaging, they scheduled my dad at 9 am but with a 7 am check in time. My Dad’s anxiety was palpable, I felt so bad for him. Then the supposedly 1.5 hr. procedure turned into a 4 hr ordeal! During his procedure the MRI machine broke down! They had to stop the process and haul him elsewhere to finish it. I am not sure if this was an old machine or if it just lacked maintenance, either way that was not the best experience. I hope we never have to deal with UCLA Radiology again.

I’ve come here several times over the years(decades) and yesterday I needed to come back again. It’s never fun when you need to do hospital sorts of things but this visit to their Xray department could not have gone any better. I was in and out in a jiffy but I must admit that is not always the case but everyone has always been very pleasant and friendly. You just might need to wait at times because their is no appointment scheduling. It is on a walk-in basis, first come, first served. But in a way, I really like that. You come in when it suits your schedule and if a wait is in order, then you wait. The office is large and very clean for waiting so just bring your iPod and a magazine with you to occupy your time. One challenge to point out is parking. If you want to skip the high parking garage rates, there are meters but they are few and far between for this huge hospital block and most of the curb is for emergency vehicles or no parking. All said and done, yesterday’s appointment was easy, breezy, beautiful, cover girl!
