Saw Dr Soo Hoo the foot/ankle super doctor. After great research I thought he would be the best to repair my two hammer toes and my surgery was almost two years ago. Unfortunately he was no good at all and I will need to have the surgery again. I am in just as much pain as I was prior to the surgery. I did have two other hammer toes repaired on left foot successfully. If any of you know a great orthopedic foot surgeon please let me know.

Lot parking costs a ton. Street parking is hard to find, not to mention metered and otherwise limited to certain times. Many of the staff members are useless. It’s rare enough to find someone who will actually do their job efficiently that one is actually surprised to meet such a person. Of course, it’s far better than the Orthopedics office actually located at UCLA. The doctors are hit and miss. Some seem to know what they’re doing, some don’t. And don’t get me started on the billing. The only way I’ve been able to overcome those issues is by complaining here. One great use for elite status!

My original appointment time was at 10:30a and it is now 12:39p. I still have not been seen by the doctor. While in the waiting room, I overheard a gentleman complaining that during his previous visit he had waited for 2 ½ hours. Apparently I’m right on target!

Went to see Dr Jeffrey Wang as he was recommended as an excellent surgeon. A friend of mine had a back problem. The doctor is very arrogant and has a very poor bedside manner. We were called by his office to rush over for an appointment then we waited for 2 hours. Then, the doctor looked at the xrays and said there was nothing he could do.

Dr. John P. Difiori was a major dissapointment. Dr. John P. Difiori examined me in less than 4 minutes, never even glanced at the expensive X-Rays I was told to produce. Came across as uncaring, uninterested, unhelpful, unwelcoming, uneducated and inefficient. I would not recommend Dr. John P. Difiori neither for surgery nor for minor issues. Dr. John P. Difiori does not inspire confidence in his practice, he comes across rather unpleasant, even for Sports Medicine doctor. However, his staff, nurses and assistants were impeccably nice and better educated. I received a much better diagnosis from one of the younger apprentices and she was pleasant. Warning: DONOT get your X-Rays done at UCLA if you can help it, even if you have insurance they will tag ridiculously high extra fees if you order a copy of your X-Rays. This poor elderly woman in her 80s and on a wheelchair was forced to cough-up $ 320 for a copy of her X-Rays, I am not kidding, she was on the verge of tears. UCLA Department of Orthopedics seems to me more like a Las Vegas Casino out to wipe you clean of your money in exchange for nothing. Save your money and go to Vegas instead. At least in Las Vegas you may derive some fun from getting ripped-off. Parking at UCLA Department Of Orthopedics = $ 15 dollars Parking in Las Vegas = free.
