This place has delicious food! The service here is top notch and everyone always has a smile and friendly vibe. Def recommend to anyone who visits the Santa Monica pier.

We went to the albright in Santa Monica today for the first time and we all were impressed. Food was delicious, everything came out hot and very quickly for how many people there were. The staff made sure we were taken care of through out the whole experience. would definitely recommend to anyone.

Came here with my family looking for some fresh seafood and was not disappointed! The Albright is a great place for reasonably priced, fresh seafood with great vibes. The manager was very nice and checked in on us a few times which we appreciated. Between the 6 of us, we had: — clam chowder — spicy seafood soup — poke — mahi mahi tacos — onion rings — steamed whole lobster — half dozen of oysters All were delicious! The tacos and spicy seafood soup are must haves. Definitely coming back!

This place deserves your business. Great seafood, great location and great service. My girlfriend and I got the paella and the fish and chips and we’re not disappointed in the slightest. Brandon, the manager, knows how to take care of customers. Keep the good seafood and vibes coming!

I brought my friend down to the Santa Monica pier during a visit to LA to see the pier and watch the sunset. After walking the pier looking for a decent spot to eat we found our way into the back entrance of The Albright. We were hooked(pun intended) from the get go! My girl and I shared an appetizer(calamari) and platter(shrimp and chips) along with a few brews. Our food was excellent, the fried food was especially yummy. It was perfectly fried, no soggy seafood here. We loved the attentive service and found them very helpful when trying to decide on what to eat. We especially loved the atmosphere: lively outdoor patio, sea views and great tunes. I’ll be bringing other visitors back here for sure!

We were on the pier and decided to eat here because of the reviews. I would give 3.75 stars if I could but the staff was great and the manager came around to all of the tables to see how everything was so I feel good about bumping it up to 4. We ordered the fanny mussels, a bowl of clam chowder, calamari, one piece of fried fish, a whole lobster, a lemonade & a soda. The bill was $ 120. Everything was delicious. After having a bad experience with mussels years ago, I was ready to give them another shot and I was not disappointed! I would have ordered more but I felt like we had spent enough $ already! The only con was that the lobster was small and a bit overcooked. At almost $ 50, they could have at least taken a bit more care in cooking the tiny little fella. Great location, great music playing on the patio, most of the food was great, just be prepared to spend some money for the location and the live lobster and crab. *This is my first of many reviews to come. I’ve been using Unilocal to guide my dining decisions for years and finally decided to join in on the discussion, especially since many of the places I’ve been have so few reviews.

Gotta stop here if you’re on the pier. I ordered the rock crab, my friend got the lobster roll and both were really good. The staff was super friendly and the manager actually went from table to table quality checking and taking extra drink orders, seems like the place is ran really well! I’ll be back next time I’m on the pier for sure!

I had higher expectations based on their 4.5 star average, but I agree with most reviewers that this place is just A-OK. The Albright = Alright ;) Best place is the location(in the Santa Monica pier) aka… kind of a tourist trap. The fried fish was 4⁄5(somewhat small pieces for the price), mussels 2⁄5(rubbery and tasted like cheese), lobster roll 4⁄5(not enough meat for the price), shrimps were my favorite(5⁄5). We paid $ 140 for 2 orders of fish and chips, 1 order of mussels, 1 order of shrimp and chips, a pitcher of beef, 2 bottles of coronas, and a lobster roll. Afterwards we were still hungry… so I wouldn’t come here on an empty stomach unless you’re ready to shell out $$. Service was casual but the cashiers were friendly. Probably won’t come back here again, though. Oh but we ran into Bernie Sanders after eating here which was a cool experience!

Decided to visit The Albright for lunch while in Santa Monica based on the high Unilocal reviews. Didn’t realize it was situated right on the Pier until we arrived, I immediately thought to myself, oh boy another tourist trap. Once you enter you order at the counter and a number is given to you, once your food is ready they bring it out to you. Here are my ratings on what I had, 5 being best. Seafood ceviche, 2 out of 5, literally served in this plastic cup, not to much flavor going on, just ok. Fanny Bay Oysters $ 15 for half dozen, 3 out of 5, small in size, a bit to fishy tasting, not the best I’ve had. I was expecting more freshness. Lobster roll 3 out of 5, not much memorable about it, a bit on the dry side. Lobster portion in the roll wasn’t too generous, I felt I was eating more bread than anything. Clam Chowder 2 out of 5, bland, nothing memorable about this either. Overall, not impressed, just another touristy type restaurant on the Pier. I thought the seafood would be a little more fresh since we’re close to the water but I was wrong. I won’t be returning here if I ever come back to Santa Monica.

Food is definitely well made and tasty. Paella, fried fish and shrimp, shrimp po boy, burger… all yummy with enough seafood served. Kids meal of corn dogs was also nice… and came with an honest juice drink. Plus in my book. Service was nice, my only con is that the meals were served in old painted metallic dishes, some of which were chipping, so made it a little uncertain when trying to scoop the paella. Lots of french fries served with each meal… get the old bay on them… makes such a difference.

OK, so the food is alright. It’s nothing to write home about. Here’s what I have issue with. DONOTBUY A PITCHEROFBEER. I bought a pitcher of beer(Goose IPA) FOR $ 26. It’s the Santa Monica pier, whatever. A 24 oz of the same beer was $ 11 A 12oz of the same beer was $ 6 The pitcher was small. I got almost 3 ½ 12 oz beers out of the pitcher. …wait a second. I can do the math. That’s bullshit. Don’t buy a pitcher of beer. End of story.

He checked in on us and made sure we were taken care of. I can’t wait to come back here again.

I’ve read great reviews about the clam chowder, so I know I have to try that! The restaurant looks better from the inside then the outside. It has a outdoor seating area with heating lamp for the night cool breezes which is nice. All I had was the clam chowder accompanied with a beer. The clam chowder is full of clams! If your not much of a clam tasting person, it probably wouldn’t be too great for you. Every bite had pieces of clam. I would say this is the first time I’ve had that much clams in my chowder. At first I was overwhelmed but started enjoying it about a third way through. My wife got overwhelmed with her bowl and of course being a gentleman, I finished hers too lol. Is you are a clam lover, you have to get a bowl. If your not, then I suggest getting some other type of seafood that they have.

This is the place I go to when I want to hang out on the pier, drink a strong beer, while eating a bread bowl as big as my face. Sure you’re 80% likely to be surround by tourists at any time while at the pier but it’s a really great people watching spot to just relax. It may be a little more pricy than what most people are used to but it’s on the pier. *shrugs* If you’d like to sit on the Santa monica pier, enjoy some good vibes on the patio while nomming on some really nicely prepared kumamoto oysters dipped in champagne then this is your spot. Have an old Rasputin, listen to the waves for a bit, while they play some goodies and oldies. Yea, it’s nice.

We thought it might be a tourist trap as it’s on Santa Monica pier but we had some lovely fish here. BF thought his portion was on the small side. I was happy with mine and the flavour was good. Staff seemed friendly and in general it was reasonably priced. I’m salivating thinking of my lobster roll now!

Probably our favorite golf team stop when we go to the annual California tournament. Located on the Santa Monica Pier, this restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere with wooden table — bench style seating indoors or out. You walk in and place your order at the counter and then take a number and place it on your table of choice. An expediter brings your food straight from the kitchen. I ordered the Mahi fish tacos, and I’ve eaten a lot of fish tacos before, and these are GOOD. Never mind good, these tacos are great. The plate comes as a whole piece of Mahi with all the fix-ins; you put the tacos together yourself. All of the ingredients tasted so fresh and the Mahi was cooked perfectly. My teammates all ordered either the Mahi tacos or the fish & chips. One of our guys is from England and he even said the fish & chips were good. All the food came out timely even though they were pretty busy. Everything was hot and prepared nicely and everyone enjoyed their meal. The staff was very friendly and assistive when needed! Eating fresh seafood on the Santa Monica pier is something you definitely want to do when in Cali and I would recommend The Albright to anyone.

Of course used Unilocal to find the best place to eat on the pier and was not disappointed. Food here was great! I had the lobster roll. Surprised by all the meat and the fries were on point. My friend had the shrimp and chips, which were really good. Especially since I don’t do fried shrimp, however it works here. Don’t get the sangria, very weak. Just fruit juice. And a waste of money. All in all a delight.

Overpriced, below-par food. I wasn’t angry with my experience here but it was so meh that I can’t recommend The Albright. By all accounts, this place should be great but it seems mostly suited for the tourists frequently the Pier that want the experience of dining above the Pacific waters. The Salmon Club Sandwich was measly in size and came with a huge mountain of fries that was not worth the cost of the entrée. The sandwich was equivalent of something I would pick up from a Ralph’s Deli. The clam chowder in the bread bowl wasn’t much better. The chowder was pretty bland and again, not worth the price we paid. This place is just ok but I would recommend you spend your hard earned cash somewhere else.

PEANUTBUTTERCOOKIE only review! We actually walked through here by accident trying to find our friends who were at the bar next door, but before I left I couldn’t resist but buy one of the cookies they had in jars by the register The worker was super nice and gave us 2 cookies for the price of one since there was a broken cookie —peanut butter cookie: very crumbly instead of chewy so if that’s the type of cookie you like, have at it! The food people had at their tables looked delicious so I’ll have to come back for their food!

This place is so delicious! Came here three times with my fiancé and we loved every visit. The seafood is so fresh and deliciously cooked and seasoned well. The sauces are delicious! I love the ranch dip here and aoli sauce! The clam chowder is amazing! Must try! They give you a lot of clams and the base is so deliciously creamy! I also enjoy the calamari and fries here! They are so crispy and seasoned so well! A good selection of beer and sangria drinks are available as well! :) Located at the start of the pier, indoor and outdoor seating. Can get crowded but it’s worth it!
