3.5÷5 on flavor. Milk tasted like cheesecake. Mint didn’t taste minty at all… 4.5÷5 on atmosphere. Clean and simple.

Never have I ever been to a shop where one can customize their popsicles! I know I’m late to the game but whatevs. Stickhouse was a delight. All the gelato bars were laid out in their display case and it looked so pretty. Definitely a *heart eyes emoji* moment. First step is choosing a popsicle base and then choosing from an array of toppings that they have, some of which being pistachios, coconut, white chocolate, etc. If I remember correctly, Armando helped us out. Rad dude with exceptional service. I got a dairy free popsicle — pineapple and chose to have it drizzled with dark chocolate and coconut chips. The coconut complemented the pineapple popsicle SO well. It was a treat! Just perfect for a sunny LA day. In addition to gelato bars and fruit sorbet bars, they also have coffee. They had avocado gelato bars that I’ve gotta try next time. The parking sitch? I never really venture to this side of town but we just parked at one of the parking structures nearby. Awesome location as it is right in downtown Santa Monica by Third Street Promenade.

We got the banana bar, dipped in chocolate and pistachio. Omg was it so good, and why did I share?! Next time I am getting my own bar! The staff was super nice too.

Great popsicles with loads of variety to choose from. You get to choose the flavor of your popsicle first, then whether or not to dip it in chocolate, and then finally the topping(mostly nuts). I went with the avocado popsicle half dipped in chocolate, with some almonds added on top. The avocado popsicle itself was very good; not too sweet, but with a strong hint of avocado flavor. However, once I bit into the part with chocolate, the flavor of the avocado was mostly covered by strong taste chocolate and almonds. I’m sure the chocolate works well with other flavors, but in the case of the avocado, I wish I would have just stuck with the plain popsicle. Still, with so many flavors to choose from, a friendly staff, and great location, Stickhouse Gelato is the place to go for a cold treat on a hot summer day in Santa Monica!

Delicious gelato. They all looked good, and I was about to get the cheesecake cause it just sounds amazing, the owner changed my mind to pistachio… and I’m so happy he did. Delicious. Got the pistachio dipped in dark chocolate. Highly recommend this place.

First visit was really good like 4⁄5 stars. Tried today the hazelnut stick with milk chocolate and pistachios. First, the icecream texture was way way off. You could feel the ice crystals all the way(see pictures). It also lacked in sweetness oflr hazenlut flavour. Second, they used to cover all of the icecream with chocolate. Now they cover only half which was edible. The other half found its way to the garbage

My bf and I decided to stop by this place since we were around Santa Monica. I’ve seen so many pictures on IG and what not… so might as well give it a try. It’s located at the side of Third Street Promenade. So basically, once you enter, you choose your sorbet or gelato pop, then you choose what kind of chocolate drizzle, and finally your choice of nuts: pistachio, hazelnut, etc. Definitely, have to say this place is waaaay better and slightly cheaper than Popbar. They have a wonderful selection of gelato bars, fruit sorbet bars, Cupido, and Merenda. I really wish I tried the Merenda which was Gelato with a glutton free sponge cake, but totally overlooked it since I was distracted with all the flavored bars they had laid out. Service was also great and helpful. Perfect spot to stop by while walking around Third Street. Parking: Meter or Structure Parking.

Was passing through and saw this place tucked at the corner. Place is super cute and staff is friendly. Decent place for some gelato on a stick but there is better. I got the peach with half dip of milk chocolate. Just thought the peach was bland. Their other flavors are probably better but i wouldn’t recommend the peach one.

This place is amazing! Not only do they have a great variety of gelato but the coffee is custom brewed by a super friendly, knowledgeable guy named Shane(he should own this place!). I highly recommend if you’re looking for a cold treat on a nice Sunny Santa Monica day! I had the sponge cake soaked in tiramisu gelato with dark chocolate coating and pistachios, yum! … And a strong iced almond milk latte with 3 shots of espresso(move over Starbucks!)

I love me some gelato and I love Popsicles(even before this new Popsicle trend) so I was really excited to check this place out! When you walk in, there’s a huge display of all kinds of Popsicle flavors. The flavors range from adventurous fruits(persimmon, dragon fruit) to classic(vanilla). This is probably the most overwhelming part. Everything sounds amazing and you can’t try anything. So it’s kind of like Russian roulette, you don’t know what you’ll get. To create your stickhouse concoction, you follow these steps: 1. Pick a flavor 2. Decide to dip in chocolate or not. With this you have several options: half or full dipped in chocolate, white or dark. 3. If you went with chocolate, also pick a topping! Mainly limited to nuts and shredded coconut. 4. Enjoy the yumminess you now have in your hand! I do wish there were more topping options and the service was friendlier. The people who work here aren’t very helpful and it can be a little overwhelming your first visit. Overall though, it’s a delicious and fun treat to have while spending the day at the beach or on third street!

OMG! If you’re reading Unilocal reviews to determine if you should try this place, then TRYTHISPLACE! I went two days in a row out of my 3 day trip to LA/Santa Monica. The only reason I didn’t go the 3rd day was because I’m an idiot. GOSH, I will be dreamy and craving this place. So why do I love it? Because –flavorful tasty gelato options –dipping options –love the fact that the gelato flavors aren’t creamy type I tried: –the pineapple –strawberry –avocado –mango My favorite was the strawberry. I wanted to try the lemon, raspberry and the blueberry.

Cute little shop on Broadway, at the end of 3rd street promenade. They didn’t have the Cupido pops They have a wide array of flavors, the most interesting ones were: persimmon, dragon fruit, hazelnut, & coconut. 1. Pick your pop 2. Choose the type of chocolate(dark/white) to dip ½ of the pop in 3. Choose toppings(hazelnut, pistachio, coconut, & almonds) $ 4.50 for a pop There’s a ton of parking garages around the area, so that won’t be a problem

I was really craving ice cream one night even though it was foggy and freezing cold out. I couldn’t find a place I liked on 3rd Street Promenade, but then we passed by Stickhouse on the way back to the parking lot. Concept, at first glance, seemed simple enough: frozen gelato dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with nuts. But then I saw they have a lot of other interesting menu items, so decided to give it a try. I was especially eyeing the«Merenda» because it had both gelato AND sponge cake on the stick. The lady working behind the counter was nice but seemed stressed out, even though it was pretty quiet. I told her it was my first time, hoping she would be a little more helpful. I asked her a few questions, but she kept her answers short and brief. It was kinda a turn off. I saw a cake-shaped popsicle labeled«Moca»(mocha in Italian), and decided to order that one, dipped in chocolate and hazelnuts(they also have walnuts, peanuts, and pistachios). When she handed it to me, I noticed that it was not the cake-shaped«Merenda» I wanted, but instead a regular round popsicle that was purely gelato. More customers started to trickle in now, so I decided to eat the one I have instead of bothering her to switch it out. The first bite was overwhelmingly too chocolatey. But as I ate more, I started to really enjoy the creaminess of the gelato, and the outer hardened chocolate coating had a very interesting texture. It was unlike any other chocolate-dipped popsicle I ever had before. If you’re imagining a Nestle popsicle you get at the frozen aisle of a grocery store, this is NOT that! I’m also not a huge fan of nuts so I asked her to dip only half of my popsicle, and it turned out to be the perfect amount for me, enough to cut through all that chocolatey richness. I would come back to try the«Merenda» and all the other flavors! They also have gelato sandwiches, sorbet sticks, and shakes. Hopefully, service will be improved slightly by then.

Where do I begin? As you walk in to this Gelato shop you are welcomed with a large display of gelato flavored displayed in a large display. You can’t help but wonder how you will make a decision on what to get. I opted for the mocha. It was a great choice. Not to much chocolate or too much mocha. Chose to have it dipped in dark chocolate and drenched with pistachios. Pure deliciousness. Creamy and rich. I can’t wait to come and try another flavor.

They have avocado ice cream… need I say more? If you are an avocado obsessed freak like me I need not say more and you are already probably in your car driving down to Stickhouse Gelato because hell that’s what I did when I saw they had avocado gelato. If you aren’t an avocado fiend don’t worry your pretty little(or big) head they have all the flavors one can fancy. I mean, they freakin have persimmon for goodness sake. What an odd flavor and how awesome! Of course I did choose the coldest day here in Santa Monica to go stuff my face with some ice cream and all my friends have deemed me crazy, but all is good in my world because I just had my first ever avocado ice cream! I must be living under a rock because I had no idea such a thing even existed and I thought I’ve tried everything avocado that roams this earth. Disappointed I was not. I was so into it I almost deep-throated the stick. The process is really fun too; you pick it and then you double dip it. I went with dipping into dark chocolate and then pistachio, but all the dipping flavors they had looked good and I shall be back to dip into something else. The cashier girl who works here is really easy on the eyes which is a plus in my and any horny mans book(I’m not a horny man or a man at all for that matter, I just appreciate womanly beauty). She has a heavy accent that I gathered was Italian and she confirmed it was and then when I went to order another cup of hot tea to warm up my frozen throat the guy working there also had the sexiest thick accent. He also said he was Italian and on their aprons there was a quote«From Italy with Love». From Italy with love indeed. Makes me wonder though if it’s a requirement to work here to be hot and Italian and to have a thick accent. The only negative was the darn tea. I paid $ 3.88 for a cup of tea so small i finished it in 2.5 seconds. It was literally tinier than a thimble. If the ice cream wasn’t so devastatingly orgasmic I would call them crooks. I won’t be stick thin if I make Stickhouse my frequent stop, but all is good because who likes a stick anyway? Unless it’s an avocado ice cream on a stick that I shall be devouring ;)

Delicious Gelato with a twist! Stickhouse is a fabulous addition to the Westside. In the prime location of downtown Santa Monica, this quaint gelato joint should not be overlooked. There are so many varieties of gelato that can be dipped, coated, or enjoyed on their own. A couple of my favorites include tiramisu drizzled in chocolate and coated with nuts, and hazelnut accompanied by freshly made espresso to dip it in. I also love their little gelato pops — because why only enjoy one when you can try several?! A must-try in the area owned by the creators of Stickhouse in Italy!
