Dr. Sellman is awesome. I’m a cash patient and have limited funds. He keeps that in mind when doing follow ups and testing. He doesn’t skimp on treatment, just keeps costs low for me.

A doctor is not a miracle-worker, although I do admit I wish there was a magic pill for, well, everything. But there isn’t. There is one other review for the kind Dr. Sellman and my impression was completely opposite. I was referred to Dr. Sellman for a sports-related injury that had stopped getting better. From the minute he stepped into the room I knew I was in the right hands. He’s personable, wise, practical and funny – and he invested an incredible amount of energy into me, despite the time it took and the fact that there were other patients waiting on him. I followed his common-sense advice and now, 5 days later, I am dramatically better. I do believe he knows exactly what he’s doing and I really enjoyed our appointment. . I would recommend him to anyone, I was that impressed.

I am one of the many Los Angeleanos who is fitness obsessed. I train 6 – 7 days a week, a couple hours each day. I think nothing of throwing«2-a-days» into my schedule when life interferes. I run, train with kettlebells, Santa Monica Stairs, skip rope, have a trainer who I happily pay to make me do insane things like one armed push ups and pistol squats. I love my workouts and cannot live without them. I know you can relate, I’ve seen you running the median on San Vicente Sports medicine is crucial to me because when I get injured I want it diagnosed quickly and properly and fixed. Dr. Sellman did not do any of these things for me and he’s getting this bad review because he told me there was nothing more he could do, never seemed to take my injury seriously and my feeling is he just didn’t want to figure it out. I visited Dr. Sellman in February after I injured my ankle/top of my foot getting out of bed. I know it sounds ridiculous, I stepped wrong, twisted the foot, and bam– I was done with running, kettlebells, stairs, weight training, roller blading. Heck I was not able to walk without pain. I tried to let it heal a week or so just wrapping it/stabilizing it, but nothing improved, so I booked the appointment with Dr. Sellman. Right off the bat he seemed very skeptical of the injury as he could not«recreate» it by twisting my foot. He ended my appointment saying he didn’t see anything, even though he stated the x-rays likely would not reveal anything at all(before he took them– UGH!). As I jumped off the patients table to leave, dejectedly, I landed on the foot wrong and crumbled like a bag of bricks. THAT got his attention. So he prescribed immobilization– a boot for 6 weeks. It did not help(and I wore it at all times). I then returned to Dr. Sellman who then said there was nothing he could do– injuries to the ligaments on the top of the foot/ankle are hard to diagnose. Totally unacceptable in my book. Hence the bad review. I am still looking for a good sports medicine/podiatrist. its been months.
