I had to pinch myself when I walked into this amazing facility for assisted living senior care after having seen another, less desirable location. My mother has been living on her own forever and the transition has been difficult, but these folks made it so wonderful in every way. They treat everyone with so much dignity and care, it’s just incredible. We were able to afford a lovely room on the second floor that has a balcony, brand new tile and open shower and a lovely, large studio floorplan. Though she doesn’t have a view unless she would hang off the balcony(not advised), she can sit on the front patio and watch the Pacific Ocean glorious sunsets. The meals are sumptuous(I’m told the chef was previously with Four Seasons) and there’s always something for her to do. Each person is assigned a caregiver and that person ensures that if the client wishes to go for a walk. or whatever, she/he will assist in their every desire. My mother has a cat and she was able to bring the cat too. We had her room decorated just like her apartment and it made a huge difference. Both Raushana and Jason made our transition amazing and I simply cannot say enough good things about this senior living care facility.

Ocean Villa has been the home to my brother, only 59 years old when we needed a place for him due to his diagnosis of terminal stage 4 brain cancer. Besides the location being absolutely stupendous the facility itself has been the«lifesaver» that we’d hoped it would be. Upon our initial visit, the management assured us that they would be able to take care of him even as he declined into Hospice, which is exactly what happened… and what they did. I can’t speak highly enough about the warm, loving, caring, and PATIENT, staff at Ocean Villa… can I mention, Tanya, Maria, MaryJane, + Janella. Each one developed their won personal relationship with my brother who responded to their loving attention more than we ever could have hoped. Prior to his living there, he had complained about and alienated every caregiver we had gotten for him. These women, as well as several of the residents made him feel at home and, yes, loved. As I write this, I cry, because it was such a relief for our entire family to find Ocean Villa, so this review is the least I can do. We felt such a sense of appreciation to this staff that we have even created a library in his name for all the residents there. You don’t have to look any further… .they’re wonderful and I highly recommend.

Ocean Villa is the Club Med of assisted living for seniors. There are degrees of assisted living, and I’m not saying I’m an expert, but when my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimers at 97, we knew that it was a matter of time before she’d need a place like this, and we started looking around. Many of you may already know this, but most of the places out there are horrible. They don’t mean to be, and most of the people who work there ought to have halos and angel wings as far as I’m concerned, but as a cold-hearted consumer looking at these places as a possibility for a loved one, I mostly thought — «Oh my fucking God.» When I found this place, I thought, «Man, when can I move in?» It’s right on Ocean Avenue, near San Vicente, across the street from Palisades Park and the most consistently beautiful sunsets this side of Krakatoa. I love visiting my Grandma here, although I always leave talking REALLYLOUDTOEVERYONE I SEE. The staff is super-nice, the surroundings are beautiful, the rooms are large and nicely decorated, and most of the residents seem cognizant of the fact that life could be worse, and their adult children seem to be secure in the knowledge that they’ve found the best place around. The residents are not exactly DIVERSE, which is a problem for my grandma, but that’s another, complicated story. Right now, I’m just glad that Ocean Villa exists and that my Grandma is there.
