Literally the most expensive liquor store in the entirety of LA. They give you the «we’re on Main Street wanaa wanaa» excuse. Yeah, well, your prices are double what you’d pay elsewhere. I don’t remember the last time I had a $ 30 burger on Main Street. A $ 10 latte. It’s not $ 12 a pint at the local bars.
In summary, get your prices in line or go shove it.

My husband and I are locals that frequented this liquor store often and always thought Howard was great with his knowledge of beer and friendliness. We honestly thought he knew us. Today, it was raining hard. My husband and sister ran in to buy some wine, beer & sweets to take home. My husband accidentally broke a beer bottle when it slipped from his hands because his hands remained damp from the rain. My husband apologized to Howard and assured him he was going to buy a few beers & wine that would more than make up for this accident. Howard proceeded to tell him «you f***ed up. Be a man a pay for it.» My husband was stunned and told him that at the grocery store he worked for they would have never charged a customer for an accident. He asked Howard if he remembered who he was & that we come here all the time. Howard stated that he had no idea who he was and proceeded to question my husbands manhood. We are so disappointed and cannot believe this happened. This exchange happened in front of a store full of customers including my little sister. I strongly urge you not to buy from this place. Howard proved to be an awful businessman and completely phony. To other locals: don’t fall for his charade. A fantastic alternative is Simon’s Provisions on Rose Ave which has a great selection & cheaper pricing. For example, we realized today that La Fin Du Monde is $ 3 cheaper at Simon’s.

Don’t bother shopping here. You will find a rude and foul-​mouthed owner who thinks he is doing you a favor by allowing you into his store. Far better customer-​friendly alternatives are available in the area

Awful. Stay away. This is my first review ever, but the experience I just had has broken my Unilocal fast. First off, this place is way over priced. I used to come here for convenience, however, after tonight, that will change. It was pouring today, which meant my hands were wet, causing my large beer to slip out of my hands. The owner, Howard, got hyper aggressive and hit me with a «you break, you buy!» policy. I explained that it was wet, an accident, and was prepared to buy a lot more beer and wine. He began cursing me out, questioned my manhood, and invited me outside, even after I paid for the beer. He only calmed down when I began recording him. I worked retail at a grocery store for 4 years and we never charged people for accidents. Howard’s policy is bad enough. His aggressive attempts to intimidate are even worse. Stay away!

This place is rad. Amazing whiskey and beer selection. Really what else do you need in life?
