The food is actually pretty good and for the most part healthy. I wasn’t a fan of paying 2.00 more per dish when using the Unilocal online ordering system. So beware they are overcharging vs the prices at the restaurant. Very sneaky.

Very good fish grill, in what otherwise is a neighborhood of very average to below average overpriced eateries, unless you spend quite a bit of money. But this place is a excellent balance between quality and value. Fish is well prepared, and served in a decent portion for a reasonable price. Definitely a place to try, if you haven’t. If I could give it 4 ½ stars I would.

Good food but slow service. I called in ahead to place my order. They said 10−15minutes. It was over 30minutes before my burrito was ready. And by then my fries were cold :(

This hole In The wall restaurant is really good. The flavors of the dish are very fresh and he portion size is really big not to mention affordable prices. Don’t forget to check into Unilocal to get your free soda! I got the mahi mahi grilled fish plate which tasted similar to the plates at California fish grill except their coleslaw here tastes way better! Definitely recommend everyone to try this place our if you’re craving seafood!

Ordered online, called to confirm order. Website said and the guy on the phone confirmed half an hour eta. Got to the restaurant and they hadn’t even gotten the order. Cashier didn’t show any concern nor expedite our order. Don’t bother going here if you value your time. Should have known better after reading other reviews. After this they forgot part of our order and we had to wait longer while the rest of the food got cold. Food looks good at least.

My experience today was much better than before. The cook even remembered my order from over a month ago. The lady at the front was very nice. Overall great. Food was even better. A gentleman came in And asked what was fresh. The cook knew exactly what to order for the day but also said the others were good too. Happy I came back, lets hope it continues.

In search of yet another lunch option, I decided to give this fish grill a chance. Happy I did. The place is nice and bright with lots of seating space inside, but only a few tables on the side of the building. It is rather hot inside and a bit uncomfortable, but maybe that’s intentional? Helps turn tables. Their options are in a word, vast. Plenty of seafood to choose from; grilled or fried. From Sword Fish to Tuna, they got it all. And speaking of the chicken of the sea, you can get chicken of the land as well. I opted for a Sword Fish plate with brown rice, coleslaw, and garlic sauce. The fish was cooked very well, but everything was bland. Once I sprinkled some fairy dust over the entire dish, aka salt, the flavors popped. Most importantly, and I know I am repeating myself, was how the fish was cooked. Supple, juicy, and just right. Next time, I’m going shrimpin’.

Eh… I knew this would be fast food, but I didn’t know it would be this bad. The fish is not very good, and the staff do not seem engaged. The food took four minutes, which explains the quality. The fish was flavorless, and it was more batter than fish. It didn’t look fresh, either.

For what this place is, a fast fish restaurant, it is much better than what I expected. I did not like what I had previously ordered, which was ahi tuna salad, but this time I went with the grilled mahi plate, cajun style, with brown rice. It was actually really tasty and fairly healthy, although I did not eat the cole slaw because I’m just not a fan of mayo. I like the little salsa bar in the back, where I stocked up on some hot peppers to supplement my meal. The people next to us ordered the pasta plate, which looked really good, and which I will try next time. The fish burritos and tacos also look promising.

For a fast food fish restaurant, this place is a catch! So it’s not exactly fancy fish. I mean this little gem of a place is located in a strip mall. You start off by ordering first, then you pay, and a few minutes later they bring your food to your table… in paper plates. It’s not exactly a dress up because we’re going on a date and grabbing seafood kind of establishment but the portions are decent and the food is delicious. I tried the fried fish tacos and the garlic mahi mahi with green(cilantro) rice. The food was flavorful, the staff was friendly, and you end up avoiding the traffic and noise of the seafood places near the pier and paying nothing for parking(which is near impossible in Santa Monica). Word of advice: don’t forget to check in to get a free drink!

Clean restaurant with fast, friendly service. We had the fried fish & calamari which was delicious. The fries had Cajun seasoning, yum. We also had a grilled Mahi Mahi salad and grilled Cajun Mahi Mahi with brown rice. My fish was a bit salty but still very good. It’s $ 1.25 to sub steamed veggies instead of coleslaw. The garlic bread that comes with the meals is great, too. I’ll definitely be back!

This review is only for the fried fish tacos. I suggest you do not order them! I went to this place after I went to Nature’s Aquarium. Funny how they have a couple of fish restaurants next to a fish store. I ordered two fish tacos to go, no combo. It came to about $ 5. When I took my first bite of my fish taco I was super hungry. The first bite was all crunch, it tasted really good. Then my second bite was all crunch. Hmmm, maybe my third bite I will taste some fish, sadly just all crunch. So i basically payed for batter and no fish. My second taco was the same. I thought I was going to be getting a nice fried white fish instead of just skin. I am really disappointed if this is how this place operates. I would come back again and try again, maybe the cook was having a bad day.

A quick, fresh-tasting sea-fastfood joint! I tried the fried shrimp burrito and I really enjoyed it! It was a decent size and the shrimp had a nice crispy coating which went along nicely with the rest of the filling with lettuce, rice, and beans. I really liked putting the spicy green salsa on my burrito(maybe a 2⁄10 on the spicy scale). The red mild salsa was just ok. I would definitely stop by again to grab some quick seafood!

We are in town for vacation and thought we would give this place a try. EVERYTHING was so good!!! We ordered the fried cod fish dinner, grilled red snapper, and boiling king crab legs with sausage/corn on the side. The customer service was excellent and food was excellent. The prices are very reasonable and the place is so clean!!! Come here for great food!!! This place will be our first stop next time we visit Santa Monica!

Wow I never thought fish fast food could ever be good but this place sure proved me wrong! Lucky for me I have this strip mall with Kaido(excellent lunch seafood), Dragon Palace(one of very few Chinese places in the area), a donut place that sells boba and now Mahi Mahi Seafood grill all in one place! I got the Mahi Mahi plate with brown rice & garlic butter sauce– and it was delicious and tasty! The addition of the garlic bread and the coleslaw made it perfect bite of food. If you’re looking for something on the hearty side and(somewhat healthy) other than sushi, this is definitely a good choice. I will be coming back again for sure. I put in an order for pickup and it took literally less than 10 mins for them to have it ready. Parking: they have their own parking in front at the strip mall. Ambiance: an upgrade from fast food(think chipotle or California chicken café)

I had been looking forward to trying Mahi Mahi Seafood Grill and am glad I finally made it happen. Casual seafood is a favorite of mine. And although I usually prefer it with a glass or three of wine, this place does it right sans booze. I had their mahi mahi plate with brown rice. Excellent. The seafood portions are not impressive. She had their shrimp burrito and the shrimp were hard to find. But they were there and obviously this is how they keep their price point at a reasonable level. Nonetheless, we all loved what we had and I am going back for more soon. A good place for picky kids too.

I live a block away but was wildly misinformed about how great the place it. Its fresh seafood in a fast food style setting. The idiosyncratic part is that the fish is just as good as The Watergrille for 1⁄10th the price. Its so good its puzzling as to how they sustain. Even trumping Malibu Fish and Seafood mkt, which I never thought possible. Dont let its location deceive you. Magic can happen in strip malls. Im here right now. Getting crab by the pound! And the price I like. I like it a lot. Great example of gem discovered on Unilocal

I’m extremely impressed with the food here! Came here for lunch with coworkers and got the grilled tilapia with zucchini and veggies substituted for the rice and bread(avoiding as much carbs as possible haha) and I also got clam chowder. I chose garlic butter sauce for my tilapia and BOY O BOY was I mind blown by how fabulous it tasted. It was placed on top of some perfectly grilled zucchini for a fairly healthy meal without guilt. LOVEDIT. It also came with veggies and cole slaw but the stars of the dish were the fish and zucchini! The clam chowder exceeded my expectations(which rarely happens) and tasted AMAZING. if you’re a fan of clam chowder get this here, you won’t be disappointed. Lunch was pretty packed but service was good despite the fact, the owner was also there serving and asked us if everything was alright. Great grub + excellent service = 5 stars. Highlight of my day. Ps: that scallop pasta is such a tease! xD
