Johnathan is the consummate professional. He has cut and styled my hair for five years — never in all that time have I been disappointed or been treated to a routine hair cut. He knows what he’s doing and he takes the trouble to know his client’s needs and preferences. I would recommend Johnathan to anyone!

What everyone else said — he knows what he is doing. The best part is that he gives me the hair cut I want, not the one he wants. My only criteria is that it is no/​low maintenance, and for years he’s been giving me hair cuts that look great after just washing & toweling dry. I can make it look better by blow drying and using products, but I don’t have to. Johnathan is the only one who gets me. So many other stylists have some sort of vision that they want to realize on my head, without taking my wants and needs into consideration. Will continue to see him for the next 60 – 80 years :) Bonus: Free parking just ½ block down the street on 7th.

Jonathan knows his Sh%#! I haven’t had such an awesome haircut in a long time. I used to get cuts from him at another shop he worked at, then lost touch for many months after he left. I finally reconnected with him at Phenix Salon and am so glad I did! He’s a down to earth, very friendly stylist who will take the time to make sure you’re satisfied. Thank you Jonathan!

I’ve been to Jonathan a bunch of times for haircuts and for a Brazilian blowout. He does a great job — with both women and men’s hair (he cuts my boyfriend’s hair too) and his prices are really reasonable. He’s also really personable and a pleasure to see!

Jonathan is the man; a couple of years ago I needed a last minute haircut and I’ve been going to him ever since.
He’s courteous, knowledgeable, fast and you’ll be more than happy with his work.
His studio is nearby the 3rd Street Promenade so it’s easy to get a bite to eat before or after your appointment. I highly recommend Lovato Hair if you’re looking for a top quality haircut.

Jonathan is the man when it comes to hair! He makes you feel right at home from you step foot inside his salon, allowing you to choice the music, and offering a selection of beverages for you to enjoy while he works his magic. Jonathan takes his time and makes sure every aspect is perfect. He is so personable and keeps the conversation flowing while he works on his clients. His studio is so private and perfect for those looking for that 1-​on-​1 stylist experience. Johnathan Lovato is truly the best hair stylist I’ve come too. (Thank you to my mom for the reference) Today was my first day in forever to cut my hair. It’s long (really long) and I was so happy that I came to Jonathan he did exactly what I asked for my hair, definitely made it better than the picture I showed him. He gave my hair volume, and a nice cut and without making it look short he gave me a really cute V shape. I’m so so in love with my hair. I will definitely be coming back to him so he can dye my hair. He has a very fun, sweet personality and a cute personal office. I definitely recommend him to any newbies. You won’t regret him. Book your appointments with him. Xo he is a bit pricey:/ only downfall!

Been to 10 hair stylist, 7⁄10 of them offered me 50% off because they just couldn’t figure out what i want. John is on the other hand the only person who gets it. He listens to you, treat you really nicely and he has the experience that i did not see in the last 10 hair stylist that i went to. Hands down the best Hair Stylist in LA

I had a very hard time finding a good stylist in LA as long as I moved here from Colombia. I met Jonathan through my BF and has been doing an amazing job with my hair. I love that he is consistent and knows already what I want and goes well with my face.

WHAT CAN I SAY?! John is one of the best, IF NOT, THE BEST stylist in LA. Such an outgoing individual that really takes the time to consult with what you want to do with your locks. The atmosphere at the salon has such great energy.
I got my hair cut a couple weeks back and he did such an amazing job with beautifying my hair. My hair was long and damaged, he took off a couple inches and gave me long layers. End result was amazing!
If you’re looking for a great stylist, John is your man!

I love coming here, he is the greatest guy and does and amazing job with my hair. Good products and he doesn’t stop there, he makes sure you come out looking immaculate and takes care of you eyebrows, nose hair, anything you need. Location is great and there is always parking. Got my color and cut done by Jonathan Lovato and he is truly a color expert! My hair needed some color correction and he knew exactly what I was looking for and delivered. I have naturally very dark hair so going lighter is always something I fear due to the maintenance and damage, but Jonathan gave me the right balance. I opted for hints of caramel to lighten me up only on the lower length of my hair– bayalage style. Overall its dramatic enough for me but subtle enough that I don’t feel like I went completely lighter and blonder. He’s been cutting and coloring for years so his experience is top notch. Always very polite and attentive to what you want exactly.
I also brought in my male friend and he gave him a modern shag since he wanted something that was low maintenance but still funky.
Will keep seeing Jonathan for my color needs and definitely for touching up my layered cuts.
