The pizza here is almost to the point where it is inedible. The crust is never fully cooked in the middle of the pie, and the flavor of the crust on the edges is greatly lacking. Dominos has better pizza, and that says a lot about how bad their pizza is. The wait is always long, and the pizza is terrible. Sure, you can pick your own toppings, but they need to cook it longer so the middle isn’t soggy and gross. The only decent thing about this place is that they have a salted caramel gelato that is quite tasty,

SO happy I found an amazing pizza place! Coming from NYC, the only thing I was missing was great pizza and I found it at 800 Degrees!!! It’s still different because you get to make your own personal pizza, but I love that they are baked in a brick oven. Every day, they have an Instagram special pizza — $ 5 for a whole pizza!

Decent pizza. Toppings should be unlimited and the salad was overpriced and nothing to it. Could use improvement.

Like this spot a lot! The pizza is not from New York and nor is it from Rome, but it is OKAY and a fun experience. You get to let your creative juices flow while selecting what toppings and sauces go on your pizza, which is cool. The place is clean and packed during prime hours, that’s always a good sign. I like this place especially after an entire day of drinking at the Bungalow across the street, pizza just tastes better after 6 mix drinks and 4 coronas. The people here are very nice, which I give them credit for with all the tourists and loud 20-year old’s sprinting in throughout the day. Kudos to the management. Good pizza is hard to come by in Los Angeles, this place isn’t a bad option. Give it a try!

Regular customer here, came in Saturday night Asked for gluten free pizza was told they didn’t have any… Long story short, saw the gluten free crust they normally use sitting on the counter. I realize this may take special preparation and obviously this was too much to ask as of the employees because one pretended not to speak English when asked about it. So disappointed since I normally don’t have an issue.

Came here on a Tuesday around 5, and the place was full of screaming children running around the restaurant. I ordered the verde with chicken and spinach. They slightly burnt the pizza, but I think that’s just how they do it because recently whenever I’ve come in the pizza is slightly burnt. The pizza tasted fresh and yummy. I love being able to put whatever toppings I want on my pizza. Last time I came here, they were super slow, but they stepped it up this time. They were quick and efficient despite there being a bunch of people in line. I only waited about 5 minutes for them to cook my pizza, which I’d say is average for them. I’ve always parked on the street, but this time I parked in their lot. It was a lot easier and free.

800 degrees is very similar to Blaze pizza. But everywhere that Blaze succeeds, 800 degrees fails. Let me start with the food. The pizza is ok. When ordering you can either build your own or pick from a pre made selection. There are several different base options and they stat at about $ 7(without any toppings). Each topping you want to add is a dollar. Thats ridiculous. The pizzas are overpriced not worth it. Each topping you want to add is a dollar extra. For comparison at blaze you pay $ 7-$ 8 and can get any and unlimited toppings you want. They are also really cheap with the toppings. They barely put any one. I got the plain margarita pizza with was $ 8 and included the original dough, sauce cheese, and 2 pieces of basil. like is said before they are cheap with the toppings. The pizza looked better than it tasted. I was really disappointed. I mostly tasted the crust and nothing else. The sauce was non-existant and there was not even enough basil to notice its even there. On the other hand there cheese was very good. It was real cheese. The predominate taste when eating the pizza was just crust. I felt like i was just eating plain pizza crust. The margarita pizza and a drink came out to a whopping 12 $ after tax. Thats ridiculous considering that it wasn’t very good and there are cheaper better alternatives that do not compromise quality, such as blaze. The service was ok. The guy taking orders was kind of rude and was trying to get me to order fast to move the line. He wasn’t really nice neither was anyone else at the store. The restaurant itself was clean expect the bathroom. They had a pretty big leek and they didn’t seem concerned at all. They do have free validated parking and street parking. They also have a daily $ 5 pizza that you can find on their Instagram page. Overall, I wont be back and I do not recommend this place.

The pizza is quite delicious, the price can get quite steep. I think they basically encourage you to not overload the pizza(maybe for the better?) when it’s a dollar a topping, regardless of the topping, and sometimes even $ 3−5/topping like for goat cheese. I ordered a verde with fontina cheese, caramelized onions, and chicken sausage, which came out to $ 12. It was pretty yummy. Went with friends so also got to try a slice of theirs. The garlic as a topping was a winner, as was the sun-dried tomatoes if you crave a tang, and ricotta if you want to add some soft frothy cheesy goodness. I would want to go again just so i could make a better pizza: Verde w/garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, chicken sausage, ricotta cheese and caramelized onions. Sounds like it would be an awesome combo! The service was nice — they gave my friend the wrong pizza and they not only made him a new one, but they let him keep the wrong order. Pizza also came out super fast and the crust on that pizza was superb.

Always a solid choice when craving pizza. Can’t go wrong with any of the suggested options, but making your own pizza is always fun especially with all the tipping options. Ask for your pizza to be well done do the center isn’t soggy when rating. The salads are a great addition to any pizza. The beets and burrata salad is great! Save room for some homemade gelato to finish your experience off properly.

Really cool idea. I have never been to somewhere like this. I was very confused at what this place was when I walked in, I saw the pizza dough, figured that out… just wasn’t sure if there was a café style line or just pizza. Turns out, basically just pizza. I’m cool with that. I think they had salads and pasta too… I don’t recall. I ordered a thin crust pie. I think that’s where I went wrong. It was crispy, but nothing(besides the toppings) reminded me of pizza. It did not look to be hand made as the normal crust was. Very bland. I topped the pie with sauce, pepperoni, bacon and prosciutto. The toppings were pretty good but the overpowering dryness of the crust could not save it. It was ok at best. Mall pizza is better however, I do wish I had tried the normal crust. I don’t feel like I am giving the place a fair review, while at the same time, there was not enough about what I had there to make me want to go back.

Love the create your own pizza system and this is another one of those similar to Blaze pizza and many others I’ve seen around town. What I LOVE about this place is the wood/brick oven apparently heats up the pizza in 800 degrees and the crust is so crunchy and crispy that I could eat it no probelm. many other pizza places, I can leave the crust alone and not worry about gaining those calories. but here– you HAVE to eat and enjoy the crust, it’s really good! My only one star knock off is pricing: $ 1 per additional topping is wow. adds up if you want to go deluxe, compared to a blaze pizza where it’s a flat fee and unlimited toppings, it almost screwed my friend when he came in here drunk and wanted to order pretty much every veggie topping. cost him about $ 20 for a small personal pizza. it was great tasting but at that price we could’ve got 3 or more pizzas elsewhere.

Oh man. I am so, so, so, so disappointed. After having eaten at every single other instant pizza place, I was SO excited to try 800 Degrees. Turns out, it is the epitome of LA pretension — fancy décor with no substance. From the tasteless and dry crust, to the low-quality toppings, the confusing service design, to the unexpectedly high cost, and the unnecessarily large size, this place is a huge Fail. Definitely the worst option for businesses of its kind. The cheese is dry and chunky — there’s a reason that mozzarella is shredded, people!!! And why are you nickel-and-diming for topings? Part of the novelty of this model is the opportunity to get unlimited topics for a flat fee. I wouldn’t mind if the quality wasn’t so horrible. I gave this a try despite the surprisingly low reviews and have major Eater’s Remorse right now. If you are a fan of pizza places and haven’t been here yet, save yourself the disappointment — this will ruin pizza for you forever. Try Pizza Rev, Mod Pizza, or even Blaze.

This is some good pizza, and what they are bringing to Santa Monica with the«Build Your Own» is a really cool idea! But they didn’t think this«Build Your Own» all the way through. LOCATION: It’s in a prime location in Santa Monica, literally across the street from the Santa Monica beach as well as across the street from the day time club the Bungalow. So I guess after your done partying, or need to keep all your alcoholic beverages down you can walk here to 800degrees. RESTAURANT It seems like this place can get crowded quickly. I was waiting in line for at least 30mins before actually ordering. But once you’ve ordered you’re pizza takes no longer than 8mins to come out. A lot of space to enjoy your pizza to yourself, with a friend, and even with a large group. FOOD(PIZZA) As mentioned earlier this is some good pizza and a really creative idea with the build your own. BUT the down fall is about that is, it isn’t like Burger King where you could have it your way or even subway where you could say can you add more… They literally throw just a few of your ingredients on top of your pizza, and it won’t even be on every single slice! The crust is super thin, the pizza itself is super thin. But it is still super flavorful and the ingredients are delicious, maybe that’s why they don’t throw a lot on top. All in all I do recommend this place if you’re ever in the Santa Monica area!

I am an absolute pizza fiend. I love pizza. I could(and sometimes do) eat it every day. I’m very simple in my pizza preferences. I like plain cheese pizza with mozzarella and a good tomato sauce on a nice fluffy crust. I don’t like thin crust or stuffed crust, just an original crust that isn’t too crispy or too doughy. I love going to 800 Degrees because they produce consistently delicious pizza. Oh, and they give you a whole one and you’re not only expected to eat the entire thing at once, you’re encouraged to. It’s like a personal pizza place that gives you medium pizzas when you order a personal size. Aka heaven. 800 Degrees is like the Chipotle for pizza because you go down the assembly line and you can choose anything and everything to go on your pie. Of course, all I order is the ordinary margherita pizza, then I add ricotta. Ricotta is the secret to delicious pizza. It seems like it would be weird or gross, and it doesn’t always look the most appetizing when slapped on top of a pizza. But it is a GAME-CHANGER. The added flavor elevates the pizza to a whole different level. They also have a selection of unique topping options including pesto, bacon, salami, egg, provolone, goat cheese, vegan cheese, heirloom tomatoes, broccolini, capers, butternut squash, arugula and mushrooms. You can also order a pre-designed pizza instead of create your own. Add on burrata with ciabatta, salad, broccolini, truffle cheese bread or meatballs too, but I guarantee you’ll regret it, because you will NOT have room in your stomach to enjoy the sides after you devour an entire pizza in one sitting. Recently, 800 Degrees raised its prices, meaning now I pay $ 9.14 for just a cheese pizza. The salads and sides are also incredibly expensive, as is their beer(on draft though, win!). It’s not a cheap outing but your taste buds won’t care — once you try it you’ll be back again and again not matter what they charge. #800DegreesCult

Although it’s in a great location, just a block from Ocean Ave., I’ve found that this is simply a consistently average pizza place. I’ve come here a few times and found that the pizza is very greasy, sometimes burnt, and the toppings aren’t usually evenly distributed. If you get the $ 5 Instagram pizza of the day deal, they also tend to majorly skimp on toppings(I assume to save money). It makes me especially sad when I check out the deal beforehand and it’s a delicious-sounding pizza, but then I end up with almost a plain cheese pizza due to the dearth of ingredients. There are also very long lines and it takes a while to get your food, which is a bummer when you’re starving and just want to be stuffing your face with pizza. On the plus side, it’s a pretty big place and there are many tables, both inside and outside, so you’ll likely always be able to find seating. In sum, despite the decent prices, this is an average pizza spot and there are much better options in Santa Monica. I’ll probably only end up here if someone I know wants to come here.

3.5 stars. 800 Degrees seems to want to be a fancier version of Blaze but can’t really execute that way(and it’s pricier). The crust is decent and not consistent throughout as they don’t spend too much time crafting the crust prior to loading on the sauce and toppings. The cheese globs(can’t think of a better name) don’t make the pizza too appetizing. Instead of shredded mozzarella, they use globs(er, slivers) or mozzarella cheese. That’s great for a Margherita pizza but not for much else. The bottom of the pizza gets soggy very quickly. Devour quickly. Pizza ordering process isn’t rocket science but 800 Degrees falls behind Blaze and Pieology. So much confusion going on behind the scenes.

I went to a holiday party at The Bungalow which was right across the street from 800 Degrees it’s great they are open late. I was very disappointed by their speed of service, at 12am the line was to the door, it wasn’t because they were busy, the crew making the pizzas were moving very slowly and inefficient. Once I finally got my pizza, it was excellent!

One of my foodie sadness is when a place fails to make a good pizza. Upon arrival we already experience terrible service. The person throwing our toppings together didn’t know the base ingredients of the 4 options they offer, he added on things we didn’t request. Next he just dumped the toppings w/o evenly, equally distributing it around the pie. After we moved on to the salad bar and when I attempted to order they made me go back to the original person who made our pizza to order our salad there but he disagreed and told me to order it from the salad bar, so confusing! Apparently after you make your pizza you also must order from the same person for the salad and drinks but we weren’t offered it at all so it caused us to go back and forth. Next they had no silverware out and I had to ask several times for it. Then the pizza came out and it was soggy, undercooked! It was soupy but we were so hungry we ate it! It was 2:30pm! They receive 2 stars because I complained to the manager Rubin and he apologized and comped one of 3 pizzas we ordered and our salad. He did also offer me a gift card to come back but he never brought it to me! Haha! And last what pizza joint doesn’t offer red pepper flakes!!! I says this place is a fail and go waste your calories elsewhere!
