G & S Carpet

I needed some flooring done at my house and was hesitant about going to G & S Carpet after reading the reviews on Unilocal,but I also had heard great things about this company from some of my friends who had dealt with G & S Carpet in the past. I thought what the Heck and went there for my flooring needs. I was helped by a guy by the name of JR, who was VERY knowledgeable in the area of linoleum. He took the time to show me the numerous options that were available to me and did his best in bringing down the cost of installation. We agreed on a fair price and a date of installation.
On the date of installation, the guys who came to my house were punctual and friendly. They did a very professional job of installing my linoleum to my satisfaction and left my house in a clean and tidy fashion. After their work, my kitchen looked better than it ever did before!
I would highly recommend G & S Carpet to anyone who needs flooring done in their house and wants the job done professionally and at a reasonable price!

This company does not follow industry standards on installation. They cut my carpet on a recently oiled street with no protection under it on a hot August day. Oily, black boot prints all over new carpet. I drove to speak to store manager in person and was told they would not change how the installed the carpet. I had the option of them removing carpet then, which meant we would loose our large deposit. Our movers were coming the next day. Industry standard is to put a new, inexpensive piece of carpet on area where new carpet is being measuring. They failed to do that or to keep promise to have oil cleaned off the carpets.

My first visit there was great. Javier was a pleasure to work with. When I returned for an additional room and to take back their samples Javier was not in and a man by the name of JR was the clerk that greeted me. I have never been treated so rudely by a sales person in my life. Even though my first experience was great JR made me want to run out of the store and never return. This man should never be able to attend any customers for any business. I do not look forward to returning to G&S ever.

G&S carpet completed installation of my new laminate flooring today. I am very pleased with the results. From the sales staff to the company installers, Luis and Santiago, I couldn’t have asked for better customer service. I admit I had some concerns after reading some of the reviews but glad I went forward with them. I wanted American made flooring to avoid any possible problem with odors. Readily available when ordered and came in promptly. All in all, I recommend G&S flooring in Santa Maria and will use them again. Be up front about what you want and any concerns you might have. Rest assured these fine folks will address them! Thank you, Bill!

Don’t even matter if you deal with sales person by the name of JR or store manager
This is not worthy the time dealing with this used car salesman attitude

If minus zero was a possibility, I would chose it. Avoid Javier, the manager. He is either completely forgetful, a pathological liar, just out to make money, doesn’t care at all about the customer, or service, &/​or ALL of the above. He should be a tollbooth collector, but he would keep the change! A complete drain of time, money, & energy. I’ve used Home Depot in past and was trying to support a local small business — BIG MISTAKE! AVOID!!!

I spent $ 1,700 on laminate flooring, and received no assistance in loading my truck with their product. Bad customer service.

NEVER EVER going to buy from or recommend G&S Carpet in SM! ZERO STARS if possible. I was there for 15 min and not once was a word spoken to me! A salesman even looked directly at me when I walked in the door but decided to talk to 2 installers instead. Uh HELLO, you already sold them product, why not make a NEW sale? He could’ve at least said hello and that he would be right with me! Yeah, taking my Benjamins elsewhere! Thank you Valley Flooring Carpet One for being so welcoming and friendly!

Prices are cheap, but you get what you pay for! Avoid this place at all costs.
Products sold are okay-​usually name brand, some off-​brands, but installation was a nightmare. Found nails in carpet nowhere near where nails would be used, nails sticking up, seams crooked and uneven. The vinyl flooring looks like it was hacked with a machete– the edges just sloppy and ugly. Installers had no pride in workmanship, and sales could not care less once they had their cash. How hard is it to run a magnet or a vacuum after you install the carpet?
The competition called them Gouge and Scrape Carpets when I went shopping for replacements, and I can see why! Should have went there the first time around. Live and learn. Spend a few dollars elsewhere and save the aggravation… and the tetanus shot!
