This place has some world-class wines. Not a bad one in the bunch, and the server pouring was clearly an oenophile. Knowledgeable, personable, and enjoying his job. When he figured that we were wine aficionados he brought out a new vintage, Divino; we may have bought the first one. Because it was excellent. The sangiovese was chianti-like, the tempranillo full-bodied. Definitely a stop for a wine lover.

Being a Dixon native I am all about supporting the local businesses. I recently purchased a groupon to do a wine tasting here and ended up going to the Santa Fe Location out of convenience. Its a very cute little shop nestled in the the Santa Fe Farmers Market. Only downside here is that there are no chairs to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. If you are ever in the Taos area, it really is worth the drive to check out their original location and enjoy a nice glass of wine there. The wines here are great. I really do think they have improved alot since they first opened. I was quite impressed with the variety of wines they had and a couple of my favorites were the fire estate red and the Diavolo. Their staff is very friendly and really knowledgeable about the wines and the history of this place. They also have a selection of whites and one rose option. I have to say I quite enjoyed the reds from here more. I was so impressed this trip that I decided to become a member and receive 2 bottles of wine from here every other month. I can’t wait for my next shipment!

What a lovely surprise — at the Railyard, there is a cute little market hall with neat local vendors. One stop to make is Vivac! It is a local winery(in Dixon) that makes lovely, old-world style wines. They specialize in reds and have an impressive selection. They also have some nice whites too. I mean, how cool it is buying wine at the Farmer’s(or Art) market… It’s pretty cool.
