Staff could never resolve any issues and never bothered to call back to tell me my instrument was in. One manager in particular was very surley and almost racist in his lack of attention. Many of the instruments are dented and cracked so be careful, as they will not say a thing and you will be stuck with a damaged item as I was. I will continue to favor High Desert Guitars on Second Street for my Santa Fe music needs, as they seem more honest and at least you get good service and the instruments are not all banged up before they are sold.

These guys are great! I came in here to get my baby Taylor set up. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Dan helped me out and had the work done within an hour and they only charged me $ 15. I have never had a guitar serviced that quickly and for such a great price. While I was there I was checking out their collection of Ukeleles and ended up buying one. They helped me pick one out and informed me that I should use a humidifier here in Santa Fe due to the dry climate. All in all a great shop with a great crew.

With a rich history dating back to it’s founding in 1969, The Candyman Strings & Things is the place for all types of musical instruments and accessories. This is the Real Deal old school musical instruments store with a humidified guitar room, digital recording suite, and the best employees– all accomplished local musicians! Founded in 1969 by local businessman Matthew Schwartzman, The Candyman has a colorful history. Originally in multiple locations downtown, it moved to it’s current location on Saint Micheal’s Drive in the 80’s after a fire nearly killed it, and has been making musicians happy there ever since. The founder and original owner passed away two years ago and the business was purchased by his long time right-hand-man and store manager, Rand Cook. The store has since expanded and is better than ever carrying on the tradition of offering the best brands of all types of instruments and a wide variety of accessories. They also offer lessons on premises in private teaching rooms and even have a performance space on site. There is no place in Santa Fe, or New Mexico, or anywhere like The Candyman! If you are passing through or are a local that plays or is interested in music, you have to check this place out. Highly Recommended!!!
