Mobile ordering via Starbucks app not reliable– comment from staff«it’s up and down». Starbucks IT needs to get their act together and deny an order when receiving system is not functional. Don’t trust it.

I went in there with my mother and wife, we spent around $ 30 on drinks and breakfast sandwiches. I thought it peculiar that they weren’t writing names on anything despite the fact that they were fairly busy. When MY sandwich came out it was kind of sitting in a pile of random unlabeled sandwiches so I just kind of had to take it and hope it was meant for me and not someone else because the employee didn’t seem to know who anything was meant for when I asked… A minute later another customer walked up to our table and said«I think that’s my sandwich». As it turns out my mom got confused by the same random unlabeled sandwich system and took the wrong sandwich. She was extremely embarrassed even though it wasn’t entirely her fault. She offered to pay for the guy’s food and the employees said«no it’s fine this one is on us»… Then a minute later this little Starbucks employee chick comes up and threatens my mother as if the whole thing were some kind of intentional conspiracy. She took a stern tone as though she were some kind of authority figure and said«if that happens again were going to have to charge you for it». So I told it to her like it is, «how dare you threaten my mother and treat us like thieves for YOUR mistakes! She offered to pay for his food». I don’t remember what she said next, other than it was passive aggressive and implied she still thought she was right… I had a word with her manager afterwards. He seemed nice enough and he gave us gift cards for two free drinks($ 8) which in retrospect, considering what we spent in there, and the fact that we weren’t able to really enjoy any of it, wasn’t really much of a consolation… And sadly after speaking with him I suspect he’s too gentle and friendly to do what he really should and fire that nasty little twerp of a barista.

There are four Starbucks in town and this tops the list. They have a really nice crew working here… helpful and knowledgeable and they always seem to keep their cool, even if there are15 people waiting to order or get their drinks. The lines move smoothly and quickly. The drinks are always right no matter what people seem to order, and I’ve heard some really funky requests! The store is clean as are the restrooms. There is a small but nice outdoor seating area to use when the weather is warm. Indoor seating is sufficient for 15 or so people. The store is located at DeVargas Mall off Guadalupe and Paseo de Peralta so it is in a convenient location with plenty of parking. However, there is no drive-through, so rack up a few steps on your FitBit and go inside:

This has been my saving grace for late night coffees all week. Even with maps, I just don’t know the area enough to tell if I’m close to the other locations but if I drive around enough. there they are and open, to boot. The staff is very friendly and the place is clean and well kept. I’ve never had slow service and there are always a few people inside hanging out reading or chatting with friends. It’s conveniently located between two major thoroughfares: Paseo de Peralta and St. Francis; and, has plenty of things to do in the shopping center if you want — grocery store, movie theatre, restaurants, etc.

We loaded our Starbucks card and then proceeded to order 3 items and paid for it with our Starbucks card. Apparently the staff don’t like you to put money on your Starbucks card. A lady told the other staffer and barista that it was basically our fault that our drink had a long wait and got skipped since we put in separate orders.(not true!). The staff here seem unprofessional. We love Starbucks, spend a lot of time and money at the chains, but this one is exceptionally poor, not just on one occasion but most. The barista’s mix up the drink line(I think sometimes on purpose), so you can spend a lot of time waiting. Just be prepared for a wait and poor service. We asked for the managers name(we understand waiting and drink mix ups, okay, but to tell us you can’t reload your Starbucks card and then order drinks is ridiculous) and they pointed us to a card. We called the number, and the lady who directed us to the card told us Sean Trujillo the manager wouldn’t be in until next week. Umm, couldn’t you have told us that face to face?

Standard Starbucks. Line never takes a long time. Such a relief from the one downtown.

I enjoy coming to this Starbucks after getting some vanilla ice cream at Baskin Robbins… to put a shot or two of espresso on top! I once saw Ms. Shirley McClain here and heard that she frequents the place quite often. It’s perfect for a little pick me up before you hit some of the smaller shops in the mall. There aren’t too many stores, but just enough to get your coffee fix here before any window shopping.

It provides the usual Starbucks flair — free wifi via AT&T, super friendly staff, clean store, well stocked food options, and coffee. What I love about this particular Starbucks is even if it is super busy, it doesn’t seem crowded.

I’ve only been to Starbucks in CA, PA, AZ&NM. So far, this is the worst Starbucks I’ve visited. It’s clean, the staff was always friendly. They must have a horrible barista training them. I tried this Starbucks on 3 different occasions with 3 different baristas working and the coffee was bad each time. My vanilla lattes always tasted like burnt milk. I don’t think they ever clean their machines. I don’t know. Luckily there was a locally owned Java Joe just around the corner to feed my coffee craving. Good thing or there would have been bodies scattered all over Santa Fe!

There’s actually 2(yes two) Starbucks at this shopping center, there’s the storefront that has absurdly long lines all the time, and then the sattellite franchise Starbucks in the Albertson’s on the other side of the mall. Both locations have their regulars. While the storefront has the upscale day trippers and wireless devotees(I saw a celebrity’s dog poop there once), the Albertson’s location has a gaggle of Santa Fe’s finest policemen hanging out. They are all in shape, so they must not be eating the pastries. It’s Starbucks at the storefront, but pure Albertson’s at the north location. I prefer the north location because I don’t like dilly-dalying around waiting for my drink with a bunch of people who appear to enjoy seeing and being seen. I just don’t understand the concept. And while the line at the storefront can become ten people thick, I’ve yet to be anyone in line after #3 at the Albertsons locale.
