After 20 years in Santa Fe, finally the vet we’ve been looking for!
We have nothing but praise for Ellen Platas, DVM, and her mobile vet clinic, PetStopDoc.
Dr. Platas is a very gifted diagnostician … she accurately diagnosed our dog on sight, and the dog has previously been seen by at least three other vets in Santa Fe. She is also experienced in the care of small animal/​exotic pets (e.g., fancy rats), which is nice when you have a wide range of pets.
We particularly value the way Dr. Platas partners with the pet owner, working closely with you to discuss treatment options and determine the best solution in terms of the pet’s quality of life, the home environment/​family lifestyle, and budget.
We find that there are several strong advantages to home visits:
1. our pets are much more comfortable being seen in their own environment
2. it’s much more convenient to work from home and await the vet’s visit than take the morning off to sit in the vet’s waiting room!
3. a home visit means the vet gets a first-​hand view of the pet’s environment and is able to identify concerns that might affect your pet’s health that would likely not be discussed in a visit to a vet’s office.
Dr. Platas is responsible and flexible in scheduling appointments. And PetStopDoc’s rates are extremely reasonable, especially considering that they essentially bring an entire vet’s office (including lab and surgery) to your home.
