This is a great store with a great staff who are incredibly professional. I recently moved to Santa Fe and was looking for a good gun shop where I could deal with smart, knowledgeable folks who weren’t just a bunch of ‘gun shop commandos.’ The guys at the Outdoorsman are exactly what I was looking for. Specifically: a. I was looking at selling a few pistols and Bill(owner) came up with a great price for each pistol I put on consignment. The prices he quoted were more than satisfactory and I’m happy with the arrangement. b. I wanted to pick up a new pistol for self defense. Josh, one of the sales reps, spent a great amount of time with me discussing options, benefits of each weapon, ballistic performance of each caliber, ergonomics, etc. No pushy sales stuff, just very professional all around. c. I purchased a pistol the other day from them and the whole process(including background check) was easy, efficient; and then they went over all the operations and care/cleaning of the weapon. BTW, I purchased the pistol that Josh recommended and I couldn’t be happier! d. I did a lot of research on line before making my purchase at the Outdoorsman and found that the pricing at the Outdoorsman is very competitive. And with the great staff and amount of gear you could actually touch I don’t know why you would want to go elsewhere. Bottom Line: This is a great, well stocked shop with a very professional staff. They treat you fairly, they are articulate, they know their business, and their prices are excellent. I highly recommend them. BTW, I am a retired Army Field Artilleryman so am very familiar with firearms(and whether I’m getting BS’d). Plus, I’m getting older so I REALLY appreciate dealing with professionals. Thanks for a great purchase guys! Bob

Really think this is a pawn store with a haughty attitude. They seem more interested in making a quick buck than valuing customers in the long run. Got quote on gunsmithing and found them to be charging twice as much or minimal fees when you shouldn’t be charged at all. There just aren’t any good gun stores in Santa Fe. Prices are much better anywhere but here. Don’t settle.

I asked them to order a bunch of 308 Pmags right before the ban scare and they got them in at the height of the ban scare and still sold them to me at the regular price when everyone else in the country was gouging at 200% over retail. They might be a little higher than internet prices on some things but they are men of their word and won’t jerk you around.

Ordered a new stock through these guys at the end of November, which I paid up front for, never got a call about it. Decided to follow up on it a few weeks later, no one could find my receipt, my order, or anything to do with my stock, they told me to talk to Thomas about it who was out of town at the time. Well every time I call he’s out of town, no one else knows anything about it. It’s probably been two months at this point, still no word, no call, no one knows anything about it and no one wants to attempt to figure it out. Beyond feed up with this. Fine have my money, you’ll never have my business again and I will talk badly about this place to anyone that will listen.

For those of us who exuberantly exercise our Second Amendment rights, this is Santa Fe’s best. There is a wide selection of firearms, including a broad selection of popular Glock and S&W semi-automatics as well as some higher-end handguns. If it isn’t in stock they tell you when it might arrive. They also have numerous long guns, both new and used. The staff is knowledgeable and also helpful and thorough in the Federal approval process. I withheld one star because the mark-up on hard-to-find rimfire ammo is about 2x what it should be, meaning they are taking advantage of the national shortage situation. Besides that, prices are reasonable.

Great friendly service from a gun store in the mall! What can be any better than having a gun store in the mall. Most major brands are covered including a decent selection of knives.

This place is great, the guys are really nice and helped us. Even though we couldnt buy a gun because of some bullshit law, only because we are from california, who makes these dumb laws any way. Great stock of surplus guns at good prices had a great mauser for 200 $, couldnt buy it because of the liberals.

Can get pretty busy at times. Staff is friendly and very helpful. They have a huge selection in that ranges from rare assault rifles to revolvers to air guns. Overall I would return.
