The store has a few quality higher-end brands, and a lot of cheap, poor-quality merchandise as well. Everything is overpriced; you can go onto the websites of their suppliers, and buy the items you want there, often at a reduced, sale price. The service is much too clingy, even if you’re very specific as to what brand or style/color you’re looking for, they bring you all manner of things unrelated to your specific interests, as if they’re desperate to make a sale. The last time I was there, the salesperson asked me every 15 minutes if I was a local resident or if I was visiting. Annoying.

This is a treasure! The store is filled with gorgeous items from all over the world. Stunning rubies and gold necklaces, exotic silk shawls, flowing dresses, and unique gifts. You can find everything you want in this oasis! Origins is a place where you can explore and immerse yourself in beauty.

EXPENSIVECLOTHINGOFDUBIOUSQUALITY. I have occasionally shopped at this Santa Fe store. I find it interesting but last summer – 9 months ago – I purchased two light weight summer skirts of identical design but made with different fabrics. The skirts were in the same price range – about $ 175 each. Both skirts were put away during Santa Fe’s cold winter months. When I took them out of the closet, the cotton skirt looked like a rag. I could not ever hope to wear this skirt again. The fabric had obviously been treated with sizing. I also discovered that their are no county of origin or fabric content tags in the skirt. This is fine I guess the personnel at Origins have been very nasty about my criticism of their merchandise. I have not asked them to take the skirt back. I have only asked for the contact information of the manufacturer. The manufacturer is «Hannah.» I do expect courtesy in a situation like this. I will never shop at Origins again.

I felt like I was in a clothing museum but I was welcome to touch and feel everything! Anyone who appreciates art will like this store solely for the fact that it is selling pieces of art. Jackets handmade in Santa Fe out of antique tablecloths, hand-dyed shibori silks, traditional robes from tribal ceremonies… I could go on forever. The place is pure inspiration.

These ladies pretty much specialize in the flouncy floaty Santa Fe clothing style. Think mid range boho chic. Not as many turquoise broomstick skirts as you get at a lot of local places in town though. Overpriced? You bet. But it’s less than 100 yards from the Plaza. what do you expect? And believe me it could be priced WAY worse than it is. My favorite brand when I shopped here regularly was ‘Flax’ — a simple linen style but it seems to have moved on to printed silks and jerseys in recent years. Although they are pricey a lot of the clothes I bought from origins almost ten years ago still seem fairly current. Some of the jewelry has become a little busy for my personal style these days but it’s still in good shape.

Beautiful clothes, but less than beautiful attitudes. Very, very snobby staff… the owner will fire the ladies if they don’t make sales. The clothes are clothes, truly overpriced! I used to go in quite a bit, but have stopped because you are literally accosted at the door. Won’t be shopping with them anymore and that’s a shame.
