Favorite grocery store in town, without a doubt. Shopping at this particular Natural Grocers feels small-town in the best way possible. We are regulars and find ourselves chatting with the staff on almost every visit. You’ll find a slower pace here, down-to-earth people, and time to actually think about your purchases(at night, when we shop, anyway.) Prices on most items are comparable or better priced than the competitors. They’ve recently added a great rewards program called N-power which has already saved us hundreds. On the downside, they seem to always be out of certain things like organic frozen beef or organic chicken. We usually have to make a pit stop at Wholefoods on the way home to grab the handful of items that Natural Grocers was either out of or doesn’t stock. Though they don’t ask or tell you to bag your our groceries, they do sort of expect it, which I find slightly off-putting. The area where you do this bagging is very tight and cramped. And lastly, produce does not always look the greatest.

Kind, helpful, friendly, loyal, knowledgable staff, you will make friends here! A wonderful selection of wholesome, organic, natural foods and products. They even stock gorgeous greeting cards and my favorite Sedona Magazine. Can’t beat their $ 2.29 a bottle Synergy Kombucha. The cosmetics & toiletries are the best priced, for fussy ingredient readers and purists like me. They even sell the best dish soap without all the harsh chemicals. A lot to love here. No booze, beer, deli, fresh deserts, or butcher though… So be prepared and shop the town for the full gamut… trade Joe’s and Sprouts compliment well!

Great prices! Super helpful staff! I always find everything I ever need in here and then some! Always relaxed and easy to get around the store. Huge supplement section with anything you’ll ever need or want. Love this place!

I would LOVE this place more if the overall prices could be more reasonable. Still beats out Whole Foods but would shop here more if not so expensive. They carry the Good Belly probiotics at a very reasonable price(best prices in town) & Chocolate Maven started leaving their yummy pastries and bread in the back in a tiered basket holder so I definitely swing by for those more often. excellent prices on those … they carry wholesome products that have well known reputations… many from Boulder, CO. If you need any nutritional supplements this is the place to go… the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly ! I shop here about once or twice a month.

I’ll admit, I’ve only been here once and I probably won’t be stopping by anytime soon. It’s too far down Cerrillos for me and in such a forgettable location wedged next to Bed Bath and Beyond. On a whim I stopped in on my way back from the mall one morning and it charmed me. It’s like a Whole Foods/Sprouts/Trader Joe’s but without all the faux-rustic-nostalgia pretense which is an unfortunately unavoidable trend when you go to an organic grocery store. You can find your vegan gluten-free hormone-free pesticide-free or what have you all right here, just without the fancy setup and sky-high pricing. All I bought was an onion and some avocados along with a microwavable tofu lunch, but I wandered around and observed shelf after shelf of vitamins and supplements and herbal remedies. Seriously, if you need ANYTHING in pill-form, it’s here. Another plus was the microwavable lunch I found. It was marked down to just $ 2 because it was a day past its sell-by date. It was a Indian tofu and vegetable meal in red curry with jasmine rice – it was delicious and at that price I couldn’t pass it up.

Vitamin Cottage has a nice balance of efficiency and variety. I went primarily to stop off for fresh veggies and meat and a few packaged items like natural stevia sweetened soda and coconut ice cream. While the store is not as massive as Whole Foods, and of course has a greater proportion of supplements and shelf stable foods, I thought their selection was excellent. For instance, each of the items I bought was organic or free range from a relatively local producer. Their dairy-free ice cream selection could be bigger simply because I’m picky and the brand I like wasn’t there. By the way it’s «Cows Gone Coconut» and is superior to any other brand. But overall, most of the things I can get at whole foods, I can get here for actually slightly less in price. Though, the do have some nice things that even whole foods doesn’t have. For instance, they had greek style coconut yogurt. Since I’m gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free, most of the packaged items I can’t eat in any store, and I appreciated the selection of items that met dietary needs. I’d say I spent about 75% of what I would have at Whole Foods.

Best organic market in Santa Fe. Prices are far more fair compared to the Co-op or Whole Foods.

Nice selection and great staff, so I’d love to give them 5 stars, but I regret to say I considered it overpriced. And I shop at Whole Foods regularly! And still thought I paid too much here.(Although, incongruously, their price on my favorite cottage cheese is quite low. Go figure.) But they have good-looking produce, great prepared foods, and an outstanding dairy aisle, and the people really were lovely. Other shoppers were nice, too. Recommended, but do look at prices while shopping.

Natural Grocers in Santa Fe is a comfortable place to shop. The size of the store is medium, and things are sensibly organized. The people who work there are knowledgeable, and there are some real sages in the nutritional supplements department. It seems that they are available when you need them – and easy to find they are, being free-range, so to speak. I like the bagged nuts, flours, beans and grains in the refrigerated section, which come from the store’s headquarters in Boulder. They are reasonably-priced. Natural Grocers have fresh, organic produce, and macrobiotic diet products. I buy Eden brand soba noodles made in Japan at Natural Grocers. And there is an aisle with bath-soap as well as one with household detergents such as Biokleen. The store is next to Bed, Bath & Beyond on Cerrillos Road, on the left side of the road if you’re heading towards Albuquerque. My landmark turn-off is at Richards road just after the Walgreen’s sign. If going into the behemoth«natural foods» store in town causes you to develop agoraphobia, or fear of the marketplace, you may find shopping at Natural Grocers more pleasant.

This place is unpretentious and has the same kind of stuff you would find at whole foods, only without the bewildering variety. They had walnut butter, which I haven’t seen anywhere else.
