Been a member for 7 years. This place used to have a solid, long-time staff, a chill and peaceful vibe, and awesome bodywork. I enjoyed massages from some of the most skilled therapists around town during the years 2010 – 2013. Then, something happened, and one by one, the finest therapists(most of whom could lecture a course in anatomy), began leaving and migrating to top-notch bodywork business around Santa Fe. I wanted to follow them but gave the place a chance because at least the front desk staff still knew my name, treated me like family, and had remained for the long-term. Now, they’re gone, too. The owners went through a messy divorce over a year ago, and this seems to have had a ripple effect. The last time I was there, my massage was elementary and there was a heated altercation between the manager and a very unhappy customer. When I showed up for my appointment, a young woman at the front desk barely glanced up at my face and dully said, «Who are you?» I had to give her my full name, the name of my therapist, and the time of my appointment. For years, all I had to do was walk in, and I was greeted by name by all the reception staff as one of them would cheerfully chirp, «You’re all checked in! Enjoy your massage!» Now, everyone acts sullen and lost, and the place has a chaotic vibe. Massage Envy has been going through a 3 year nationwide class action lawsuit for«fraudulent and deceptive business practices», and a settlement has recently been reached where they have to restore thousands of massages that they withheld to former customers. Maybe this has influenced the direction the business has taken. I’m considering cancelling my membership because they don’t provide the great services they used to, and in this day and age, our money has to go where it is of best use, I guess. Thank you for reading my review. I hope it helps some people.

Tragically, I have been on the road due to two horrible deaths in the family. I was finally able to get in touch with the owner of this establishment. Finally this was the original person whom had told the receptionist to comp my enduring a painful experience, with a 30 minute comp session. Understand that I was in far more pain after leaving this place then when I had walked in previously. Now I am on a 15 hour drive one way, which I will be repeating on the way back. A drive this long is agony on the back alone(thank you Google Voice for dictating this for me) Brian this«owner» feels that the ‘customer experience’ is far more important than actually being therapeutic, which was the exact language I chose to use with him. It soon became apparent that he was not interested in helping me therapeutically and just kept using the word ‘comp’. Brian you cannot«comp» a superior customer experience nor do you get a second chance to make a first impression… thank you Brian, enjoy Arizona. This is New Mexico my friend. …Still a less than pleasant phone experience, and for the therapist Stefan I apologize. I was looking for deep tissue work and we called ahead several times my bad trying to get exactly that scheduled. I truly apologize for the inconvenience. I now blame myself for not just walking out of the office when you hit the drywall behind him with his elbow, and told me that if your back feels like this I will be unable to help you. However a person in pain will try to seek whatever relief they can. Santa Fe is full of actual massage places and I’m sure if you are as well schooled as you say you are, you would have little trouble making double elsewhere… only if you can keep your obvious anti-Obama statements to yourself. I repeat. this is the fast food equivalent to Massage. The highly certified places I went to fix this damage, helped along with Trigger Point Massage & Acupuncture… this approach has me in a bit more relief.(relief from this particular experience mind you) I was unaware that you could hurt somebody by attempting deep tissue massage focusing on only one singular place of the back. I am now more well informed. Spending 2x more Elsewhere is far more rewarding, just like MacDonald’s. Brian if you obviously cannot handle an honest review like this I do not see you fairing well in the future.. Just because you own an establishment does not mean everything you serve is caviar. Enjoy.

I’m new to Santa Fe-relocated from years living in LA and have had a variety of numerous massages in upscale spas, hotels and funky locations but Massage Envy was a great experience in every aspect. Bouchra was my therapist and she is fantastic. Her touch was perfect, intuitive and I felt sooo much better after the experience. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful and the $ 49 introductory price is a bargain!

This location is a solid Massage Envy. I’ve been to ALOT of different locations and this one ranks up there. The front desk folks were actually friendly and helpful. This was the first time I had a male therapist and it was a very good massage. Overall I enjoyed my experience at this location.

Friendly customer service at the front desk, something that’s hard to find in NM. The woman walked me through the prenatal massage checklist and offered me tea and water. Calming vibe all around. Claudia was my masseuse and she did an amazing job. Most of the time I feel like massages aren’t deep enough but she made me hurt in a good way. I’m sure she could scale it back if you’re not into that. Would definitely recommend.

What a great place! The girls at the front desk are always pleasant and helpful. I also really enjoy their massages. They are open many hours and the rooms are clean and inviting. Their contract membership is not confusing at all… everything is written in plain English and there is no hidden things. I’ve been a member for 4 years and love this place!

There business practices are sleazy. They make it difficult to her out of a contract and keep charging your credit card. A very small time frame to use up massages u paid gor

Was a bit skeptical of going to a franchise massage place but was pleasantly surprised. Super friendly and since it was my first time filled out a form to customize my massage. Heidi was my masseuse and she was amazing. She was very attentive and made sure I was comfy and warm. She worked on all my problem areas and by the time she was done I felt brand new. You can’t beat the prices either which is around 50 dollars workout gratuity for an hour.

I love this place! I am on an extended visit to Santa Fe and I managed to hurt my back shortly before getting here. On my second day in town, I limped into Massage Envy and had Brenda work on me. She is amazing. From the first touch, it was clear Brenda knew what she was doing. She worked my painful areas with a firm touch but not so much that it just added to the pain. She understood when it was time to press and when to soothe, and I walked away from the first visit feeling more human than I had for a while. I’ve now had 3 additional sessions with her, and each has been better than the last. I wish she could move to California! In fact, everyone here is quite warm and welcoming, particularly Kaylynn the receptionist. She remembers my name when I walk in, and she seems to take a genuine interest in me as a person(she actually seems to WANT an answer to the obligatory«how are you?» question! Lol) I also appreciate that this location recognizes my out of state membership(apparently, not all of them do). It was so easy to step in and have all my information available with little fuss. This is a great place to come for a massage!

Our story: First thing when I get there is the«masseuse» tells me not to sit in the massage table(that had a blanket draped over it with a sheet below it) because, as he said«this is against Health Dept. Violations». Where the hell is a person getting a massage supposed to sit? In other words the masseuse was basically a rude little nerdy dope giving me the big brother power trip routine. Bizarre. Then, the massage was mediocre, at best. It’s true, you do get what you paid for! If you go cheap, cheap is what you get. This appears to be the place where the beginner or low end masseuses can get a job at minimum wage. They rely on tips. Speaking of tips, here’s a scam they pulled on my wife. She placed the $ 20 tip in an envelope on the massage table and told«Eliza»(her masseuse) that the tip was on the table on the envelope that they shove in your face. This«Eliza» acknowledged that she got the tip. A few days later their office calls my wife and tells her that she forgot to leave a tip and they asked if they can charge her credit card to leave one for Eliza. SAYWHAT! So, here’s the scam as far as I can interpret it: the masseuse tells the office desk(YOU) that you did not leave a tip. Meanwhile, she DOES have the tip and pockets it. Then, the office calls the client and attempts to get the client to authorize them to charge the client’s credit card for more money. What else are we to think? When was the last time you had a business call you back to tell you that your waiter said you did not leave a tip and ask to charge your card again. WHATTHEHELL?! So, if you go here for a low end massage, pay by credit card and INCLUDE the tip on the charge card at your checkout when you pay. And make 100% sure that you know that the manager knows that you left a tip and the exact amount. Ridiculous? Yes, I agree. Therefore, avoid this place!!! There are thousands of masseuses in Santa Fe that charge the same and give outstanding service.
