This review is solely based on the Ted Rall gallery show that opened tonight(I got there early and missed the opening)… Ted Rall is strictly a bronze and steel sculpture artist that totally goes after a strict pop-art market in his artwork. For example, he does«steampunk» bronzes that are very dreamlike, and has a nominally intriguing«Wizard of Oz» series that is entertaining… But really, those examples are his worst when it comes to his art. And of course, they come in editions. Artists have to make money, and the rubes are always buying! I was REALLY impressed with some of the one-shots instead like«Puppet master» and«Image Chaser»(outside and unlabeled) as well as «Virtual Reality: Fine Art Over The Moon»… I was checking the prices at the same time, and found them to be extraordinary affordable… Maybe that’s why I overheard the staff at the gallery potentially sell two of the bronze editions while I was milling around and taking photographs. The staff was also relatively nice, albeit stressed out for their gallery opening that was going to happen in an hour, so they get a bonus star for that. No free wifi, which dings them a half a star… Sorry, but that’s just how it goes in today’s marketing market. If I can’t tell my friends to show up… Well, I can’t help your business. Great show tho!!! KUDOS!
