Mark gave my boyfriend and I awesome tattoos! He really took time to understand what we wanted and everything from start to finish went amazingly well! The price can’t be beat for the exceptional quality and attention. I am not from the area, so it was such a treat to be able to walk in and get a beautiful piece of work done. I would definitely come here again to get more art done if I lived in the area. This place is legit!

This was probably the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had. My friend and I walked in an hour before close, hopeful that they could fit me in. I wanted two small tattoos done on my hands, but you never know if there’s time/​artists available. They were able to get me in, to my relieved joy, and they quoted an outstanding price! As I sat and waited for my artist to be ready, I chatted with the other artist and assistant about life, tattoos, etc. They were very friendly, very talented people. When it was my turn up, my artist, Scott, took lots of time to draw, and place, my desired tattoo exactly perfect. It took very little time to do, but he was 100% dedicated. He’s an amazingly smart, talented, and experienced guy. I highly recommend trying to snag him, but I think you’ll be happy with anyone there. Seriously, go see them and let them help you get some beautiful body art that you can smile at for the rest of your life.

Mark Vigil is without a doubt a amazing tattoo artist. Seeing the work in his portfolio doesn’t compared to the work he actually does, me and my boyfriend have been tattooed by Mark and couldn’t be more amazed with the quality of the work Mark does. The lines are perfect and he does beautiful work, but even more he made me feel comfortable and like I was in good hands. I can also add that the shop is clean, has beautiful art and the other tattoo artists, like Jennifer Billing, are so nice and talented. Go see Mark, you’ll be so happy you did.

I’ll keep it simple: Four Star gets five in my book.
Mark Vigil is a tattoo artist who has a good rep in Santa Fe that is backed up by his talent, professionalism, customer service, and fairness. From what I’ve seen in their books, each of the other artists at Four Star are extremely skilled. The shop is clean, the music is great, the location is convenient.
If you want to adorn your body with artistic vision, go here. I am grateful for this amazing cover-​up piece, and will be going back.

I was a walk in and even though they were packed they made sure to fit me in for my tattoo. Jay was my artist and he did an amazing job! He worked around my existing art on my arm and made the design fit perfectly. I plan on going back for more work in the near future.

I wanted to get a tattoo to commemorate my trip to NM (it’s a long and personal story) so I decided to check out the sites on Unilocal.After some research I chose Four Star, and am very glad I did. I contacted Mark, the owner, and arranged an appointment and sent him a deposit and a JPG of my proposed art. When I got to the shop he drew up and improved the design and got my approval for everything before he went to work. The end result is better than I imagined and I couldn’t be happier.
The shop is clean, spacious and bright, and the staff was friendly. Mark was especially helpful and prompt. All in all, it was the best tattoo experience I’ve had. They were also quite busy – it looks like the word has gotten out about their work and the art that I saw on people in the shop was very impressive.
If you want ink and you’re in the area, this is the place to go.

My girlfriends and I went in for our first tattoos and we were very impressed with their attention to detail, cleanliness and the effort that they put into accommodating our needs. There were five of us and they were able to get them all done at once with great results, they stayed open later to work with our changing schedule too. Mark the owner came up with a great design, exactly what we had hoped for… and even though we changed our minds again they worked with us. We would all recommend their work.

I had a great experience here. Mark did my tattoo, and I love the design he created, he listened to me, and than drew just what I imagined, but better. The people who worked there were friendly. It was my first tattoo, and I was little scared, but Mark made the whole experience comfortable. Everything seemed very clean and professional, and I healed with no problems.

Got really, really put off by the overall rudeness of the man working there. Came in with two others asking about a Zia symbol for each and was told that it is way harder than people think to do. Apparently, Talisman didn’t seem to think so and were very informative about prices and such while the man at Four Star basically told us to go somewhere else, because he wasn’t going to do it. Not exactly sure why they have the repuation as a professional shop when they have rude, unhelpful and disrespectful people working there. Will not be recommending Four Star to anyone.

Visiting from out of town, and these guys were able to get me in without an appointment, and on the weekend too. Clean place, nice décor and good music. Very professional with good customer service. Everyone is friendly. I was tattooed by Scott, who did a very good job and was an over-​all nice guy. I recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

My friend and I both had tattoos done by J.Green.
It was a solid experience. The shop is clean, they charge enough to make you confident but not so much that it’s absurd. J was calm, made good suggestions, and our tattoos look fantastic. (We had words put on the top of our feet, no small task). Plus, we had these done two months ago and everything healed up great.
I would recommend this place, and specifically J, to anyone in the Santa Fe area.

I had my tattoo done by Max Ireland– he is awesome! This was my first tattoo, and he made me feel completely at ease. I didn’t have an exact picture of what I wanted, but he was able to draw the perfect design just by talking to me about what I wanted. He works quickly and takes extra care to make it as comfortable as possible. It wasn’t painful for me at all. The parlor as a whole has a great atmosphere, and all of the artists are friendly and professional.

I waited until in my Forties to get something and have been SCARRED!
I had a very large piece I had designed and asked if they where able to do it with fine lines, The guy said yes, he is an artist as I am. It took many trips because while paying by the hour he got up to answer the phone and answer questions to people walking in. After the last session we should have done the clean up session, I asked about all the skin showing through, I was told in front of the owner Mr. Vigil that in a year the ink would spread to fill in. I new this wasn’t true but left any way. Then I noticed that I was scarred from the out lining, the out line was raised all over and there where dark spots .
People have commented on my scaring and have ask who did this so they can avoid this place.

Tattooed by Eric Jones who is doing a guest spot at 4 star until July 30th, 2011. Fantastic shop, walls covered in amazing flash, shop is super clean everyone that works there is super friendly. Every artists portfolio is super solid.
BEST work in Santa Fe hands down.

I was visiting Santa Fe and got the most beautiful tattoo at 4 Star from Crow. I get compliments on my tattoo ALL THE TIME. The shop has at least 4 if not more super talented artists… it is friendly, totally clean, a nice area to wait in, just overall rad.
