Well worth the drive… Food was spicy, fresh, and cooked to order. The tortillas alone are worth a return trip; however, we still need to experience lunch there!

This is a review for El Chile Toreado’s hot dog cart on the Plaza. Excellent! The dog is righteous, and you can sit on the Plaza and people watch. If you are craving a hot dog in Santa Fe on a summer afternoon, you can do no better than this food cart.

I live in Palm Springs where there tons of food like this. I have to say this was the best burrito I have ever had. If I lived here I would come get food her at least once a week. They must make their own tortillas too because they were to delicious for store bought. Best thing this place has to be the most affordable of Santa Fe. Not everything is spicy here btw. Just ask for the sauce on the side.

I love this place. I moved from Los Angeles… where taco trucks are practically on every corner and honestly el chile toreado has one of the best burritos I’ve ever had!!! The tacos are great too. Their chipotle chicken burrito is superb! Oh… to boot – the people who work here are fun and friendly!!!

Maybe it’s just because I had a serious craving for spicy, flavorful food as I have been living the past few years in Argentina and Spain where spice doesn’t seem to exist. Finally back in the states, we stopped by this little taco truck and I have to say, these tacos fulfilled everything I missed about good Mexican food. Great homemade corn tortillas, flavorful tender meat, and awesome toppings and salsas that had a kick! I always go for the tacos al pastor which were awesome, also tried the carnitas which were also great. Definitely recommend for a quick bite!

The tacos were so good that I went back the next day for breakfast tacos. Trust me, you have never *had* a breakfast taco until you’ve had these! I’ve been eating breakfast tacos my whole life and these were the best. They were closed Easter weekend, so I went back today to try the carnitas. I only wish I lived here so I could visit more often. They are friendly and the food is OUTSTANDING! (Note: be careful what you ask for. I did move to Santa Fe & stayed for one year enjoying this outstanding food. I have moved out of Santa Fe and will miss this, Ten Thousand Waves and the friend who was my roommate.)

The tacos were really tasty, especially the adobo chicken and the adovada. The barbacoa one was decent and the carne asada so-so. The green salsa was great and it’s always good to have roasted green chilis on the side. Random stop on the way to santa fe turned out to be an excellent meal!

Living in the Fe, this spot is probably the closest thing you’ll find to some actual good Mexican food! Had two different burritos(both on separate occasions) a carnitas and a carne adovada and let me tell you the meat on both was super tender and the adovada had really good flavor. I was skeptical at first about size and if it would be filling but I was wrong I couldn’t even finish they are definitely not greedy about portions!

This place is magic. The people running it are super nice and the food is on point. Ive never had their hotdogs, but their tacos and burritos are the best I’ve had anywhere.

The food here is excellent. One note of importance, the green chili here is VERY hot. I’ve been told it is pureed jalapenos. If you think you’ll get regular green chili, you’re in for a surprise.

I just stood outside in 35 degree whether in a breeze and light snow to get my carnitas burrito and a soda. It was totally worth it. Great good and a great value.

In the times i’ve passed through and saw El Chile Toreado, I was a little bit skeptical, but wow it was super good! It is very filling not to mention the carnitas and al pastor meat is on point! Would definitely recommend 10⁄10!

Soo good but super spicy! Don’t eat here if you can’t handle the heat. Knocked it down a star because today they tried to pawn off a different burrito than I had asked for(because it was already made — probably made incorrectly for someone else’s order) and it came with a different salsa than I had asked for. Still good!

This place has the best barbacoa burrito in town, hands-down. I go about once every two weeks. It’s so good. Best burrito in town, tied with El Parasol.

Went here for a breakfast burrito on our final day in Santa Fe. Ordered it with chorizo and my mom who does not like breakfast burritos ordered nothing. I got it back to the car and unwrapped it and it was HUGE !! And it smelled really good, my mom looked at it and smelled it and the next minute you know she was getting out of the car to go get one. Ok so it was awesome lots of cheese and the chorizo was spicy !!! My lips were burning for a hour afterwards, it was pretty filling too, well worth $ 6.75. My mom got the pork sausage and loved it, said she has never had one that she has liked before and it was so big it was her breakfast and lunch. I saw some people ordering tacos and it was only like 9 am so obviously you can get everything on the menu anytime of the day. And the people that run the stand were really nice, we were joking around about how spicy the chorizo is, and they really helped my mom who kinda didn’t know what to order. Really friendly lonchera with really awesome food !!!

To the people of Santa Fe who haven’t tried these carnitas tacos: get your kale eating, yoga doing, crystal loving ass over there and treat your heart to some real pork candy. Make sure to squeeze a few pieces of lime onto each taco and cover each one in the creamy green sauce, onions and cilantro. Napkins are hiding above the window.
