First time visit and ohhh so convenient as it’s just down the street from my house. What an amazing dinner. I had the Zen bowl. It was a gastronomic orgasm!!! Sea weed, tofu, pickled ginger, sesame seeds, daikon radish, grilled chicken, kale, a killer sauce to top it off!!! It was a very complex mix of tastes and textures. My husband had the Ruben sandwich. Again, fab! Margarita was perfect. My new favorite stop! Casual dining.

First visit to Derailed. We ordered wine and it was happy hour, and it was really nice. However the food left a lot to be desired. We odered chips and salsa which was served with two kinds of salsa and guacamole. Deliscious, thank goodness because the entre we shared was awful. We ordered Tempura Shrimp, served with a heap of fries. It sounded great on the menu — it suppposedly had wasabi cream and thai chili sauce… not that I could tell. The shrimp was lukewarm wet and soggy. If you can’t serve crispy tempura, take it off the menu. It was gross. Mentioned it to the server, who went and told the chef, who made the lame excuse that it must be because the chili sauce… that was lightly drizzled over it. No. More like it was taken from the freezer and microwaved. Or the steam from the pile of fries. No offer to replace it, or take it off the bill. just nasty. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing, but I don’t think we’ll go back. This is a food town — with so many better options.

My husband and I came here because we needed a place to eat on Thanksgiving that wasn’t fast food. This place was open, so they get a point for that. Sad that their greatest asset is simply being not closed, but there it is. They were not understaffed nor were they crowded, even considering the holiday, and yet it still took a while to get menus. We ordered the sage burger, the Guadalupe burger,(both good) jicama slaw(frightening) and fries(meh). The drinks were what really motivated me to write a review though. I ordered the Dixon sidecar, boasting local apple brandy. It tasted like watered down lemon juice. Not lemonade! That would have been drinkable, at least. My husband’s silver margarita was the same brand of awful, tasting like straight lemon juice, without the courtesy of water. We watched a couple of other people also order margaritas. We also watched their faces crumple with the first taste. In short: menu is limited. Food is hit or miss. Drinks hurt your tongue, stomach, and soul and make you grateful for Walgreens.

Watered down drinks, at least the margaritas. Poor service; my girlfriend was waiting for a table to be cleared and the staff let someone else slide in a steal the table. Food was forgettable. Sorry guys.
