Went today to see the«Recycled Art Show» at the Convention Center. There’s a lot of stuff to do there, so you should check out their calendar. This is the first year the«Recycled Art Show» was at this venue and I loved it… made it feel legit! 11÷4÷12 is the last day, so if you are into repurposed stuff, you should check it out.

all the usual tourist info. if you sign their sign-in book, you get to park in their lot for free, which is nice because most of the old town area is metered. its walking distance of everything in the area.

Went to a wedding in Santa Fe this weekend and the reception was held at the Convention center — Really nice! My BF and I don’t drink booze so we strolled over to the plaza which is practically next door to get some coffee… The outdoor courtyard is lovely The room we were in(Sweeney something?) was large and the ceiling is cool… Apparently, the city has to hire security for the event if alcohol is served so that was a little weird… Very nice center — would recommend for any event.

I came here for an anthropology conference and I was quite impressed with the convention center. Normally us anthro nerds have our meetings in hotels but this year we had something else to look at besides flashing powerpoint slides and bare white walls. The designers paid attention to every last detail. I love the fireplaces and quiet nooks. The plaza area is a great place to sun yourself after hours in the airconditioning. My only complaint, and this may be the fault of my organizers not the centers, is that there needs to be a central mingling point where all of the guests can interact. The rooms are spread out between two buildings and the only common area is the plaza which doesn’t necessarily need to be walked through to exit either building. Other than that, I loved his convention center. I hope us nerdy anthropologists get to return again :)
