I wanted to give this a 5+ star a few months ago! They had the most amazing ice cream. We would drive from ABQ just to have it. It was sooo creamy! Went there last week and they changed how they make it– it’s completely lost its creamy fresh taste! Guess we won’t be going back. I can get that same taste at baskin robins in ABQ and not waste the gas!

If you have never been to Cocopelli Chocolatier, you are really missing out — you gotta go!
Beside, amazing chocolates, cupcakes and cakes to order, they now have Cloud 9 creamery, an «as you order» ice cream maker! It is hands down the best ice cream in the city, and they make your flavor — any flavor — while you wait. It’s an amazing idea and fun for the whole family to watch!
The place is not big, seats maybe 14 – 16, but it’s a great stop, and well worth the trip!

Owner, Lauren, once again took a special order from me and made my day! Once it was chocolate horses for an equine program for children… now it was for my (and friends’) birthdays for vegans who also eat gluten-​free. We had perfect chocolate cupcakes with coconut frosting! Decadent and healthy! Who knew we could eat so well and so healthy and still celebrate our birthdays (60-​plus) as we did as children. Thank you, Lauren, for once again going above and beyond to give special attention to your customers’ needs and make our days special! You are one-​of-​a-​kind in this busy, busy little town. This place is amazing. Best cup cakes in Santa Fe. Every time we go see a movie nearby we have to stop by and get some treats. All local and fresh ingredients also the owner/​chef is delightful.

Had Cocopelli do our special order wedding cupcakes and they were a hit! We do not like cupcakes that are too sweet so Cocopelli was perfect for us. Lauren sat down with us and custom made frosting flavors that were to our liking. We ended up with four flavors: Irish Cream Chocolate Chip Cupcake with whipped French vanilla kahlua topping, Guiness cupcake with Irish cream buttercream, Cocopelli chocolate cupcake with raspberry whipped topping, and tres leches cupcake with whipped pineapple topping.
The cupcakes were beautifully decorated and delivered to our venue.
Anytime we have a special holiday we order our cupcakes from Cocopelli. Great service for a great price!
I do have to mention that their regular cupcake flavors are too sweet for me.

I really wanted to like this place. The packaging is adorable and they seem to be marketing themselves fairly well. However, after two separate visits, I was very disappointed to find extremely dry cupcakes, lack of variety and prices a little higher than they need to be. My main complaint is the super dry cupcake with too sweet frosting. I may give them another try in a year or so to see if anything has changed.
