I’ve been taking rings in to have the prongs checked for about 12 years. I’ve also needed some repairs during that for time. The staff has been nothing but knowledgeable, kind and honest. I’ve had a minor repair done within a matter of minutes. Another time I asked for what I thought needed to be done and they advised me that what I’d asked for was more expensive and unnecessary compared to what actually needed to be done. They could have easily done the more expensive repair and I’d have been none the wiser. I like them enough that I travel to Santa Fe for my jewelry repairs and maintenance.

I went there to get my engagement ring sized. When I went in there the first time, I was greeted by the husband and wife who run it and they were lovely. However, when I picked up the ring over a week later-​the person who was there wasn’t very nice and kept talking about how my 80+ ring had a chip in it-it’s an antique. The ring is still too big and I’m looking for a place where they do it in house which Chavez doesn’t. I really don’t see the difference between them and a chain store.

I have never actually purchased anything at Chavez, but I’ve brought items in for service/​repair several times, and always the services was friendly, fast, and done with skill. They will continue to get my business.
