After ignoring the boiler in my home in Santa Fe for 9 years, I realized I needed help. I called Cartwright’s and they sent out a New Mexico State licensed boiler expert. Really, ask your plumber if he’ll show you his license to work on boilers. This probably saved me a great deal of money in the long-run. Ed(boiler man) inspected everything, told me the good and bad, and worked up a list of what I REALLY needed and what he felt would be prudent if I wanted to keep this boiler and not have to buy a new one in a few years. He explained everything, showed me everything so I could fully understand what was going on, and then let me decide which of the three things I wanted to go ahead with. No pressure at all. No. 1 was a necessity, really, but I opted for the full treatment. I also asked to have two new thermostats installed, for which Cartwright’s gave me a discount, seeing as how they already had men on site. The boiler was purring like a kitten when they left and it was clean enough to eat off of. And they managed to install thermostats where the old ones were without putting any new holes in the diamond plaster or leaving any evidence there had ever been old thermostats there. They then made sure that I understood their 100% warranty on parts and labor. The only glitch all day was one of the new thermostats malfunctioned and they had to go back for another. Nothing I can blame Cartwright’s for, and it didn’t cost me anything for their time. The prices were reasonable, the service was thorough and well done. And the guys were really polite and personable. What more can I say except I’m a Cartwright’s customer for life.
