Dr. Ruth Bar-​Shalom has treated me throughout a difficult period of digestive distress. She has always looked to ease my discomfort in realistic and life-​/​style friendly ways. She has spent considerable time exploring with me my need for greater well-​being and has set me on the path to good health and vitality that I have been craving, without intrusive and painful medical practices. She is very thoughtful in looking at the whole person and not just the ailment or site of pain. She is a wonderful doc!

I’ve seen a number of other naturopathic physicians in both the US and Canada. She was my first naturopathic physician and the one I ultimately return to. I consider her to be my primary care physician by virtue of the fact that she follows my health better than any traditional doctor ever has. She has also healed me in areas that other specialists have failed and/​or dismissed.
She changed my mind completely about the power of diet, nutrition, and supplements. I used to think that I would need to learn how to live with chronic inflammation, hypothyroidism, and depression. But she has shown me time and time again how the right support for bodily weaknesses can change the trajectory of one’s health. She does not advocate masking symptoms like most other traditional doctors. Instead, she addresses the root causes of disease, and prescribes natural, yet potent, substances to support our innate ability to heal.
Some of my healing is still taking place and requires diligence and patience on my part. But some other systemic problems responded so quickly to her natural therapies (where steroids had failed) that I was truly shocked. She is somewhat expensive and has a bedside manner that some may find abrupt, but I truly believe she is a gifted and dedicated clinician who cares about the health of her patients. Seeing Dr. Ruth is in many ways an educational experience. She will readily share references etc so that you too may understand the science behind her treatment modalities.
I am living arthritis-​, pain-​, and NSAID-​free thanks to Dr. Ruth. My hypothyroidism is under control and she continues to find alternate, more effective treatments for my adrenal fatigue. Most importantly, Dr. Ruth does not give up on you. What a refreshing change from most doctors I have encountered. I highly recommend her if you have some measure of discretionary income to spend on health care. She is worth it. So is your health.

Dr Bar-​Shalom has been my doctor for about a year now, and I can honestly say she is as good as it gets! She was a nurse for several years before becoming a Naturopathic Doctor so she brings years of knowledge, wisdom and insight from both western and holistic perspectives.
The care Dr Bar-​Shalom provides is so much beyond that of any conventional doctor I have EVER seen! She spends time with her patients, uncovering the root source of what is going on. She listens to my concerns with respect and always offers up great insight and care with how to move forward. My health and vitality have increased so much over the past year, I hardly recognize myself as the same person today as when I first went to see her!
