I cannot believe these reviews, when her store was located on front st she had roaches running across the uncovered food in the display cases 5yr old rats nests under the counter and more disgusting dirty stuff! Horrible business owner, lied to employees made promises she never intended to keep and tried to withold honestly earned paycheck until threatened to return with the police!

Fantastic, all organic food — the Signature Tri-tip sandwich is to die for, happily. After finding Rebecca’s on Monday, went back for the breakfast croissant today and returned later for Tri-tip sandwiches to-go. The menu is limited, but each item is made to perfection with the freshest organic ingredients. They make Rebecca’s own secret recipe tomato jam for the sandwiches, which are served nice and hot. Can’t wait to try the soups, and Rebecca’s famous muffins sell out quickly. Love the staff and Rebecca, who are welcoming, capable, and provide excellent service. Need an expresso drink – no problem, and all organic! Like to eat outside? – They have an outdoor seating area with umbrellas and outdoor heating to adjust for heat or cold with the ever-changing climate of Santa Cruz. Lovely gem for a quick breakfast, lunch, or sandwich supper – it’s just minutes from the freeway!

Wow! Just stopped into Rebecca’s for the first time to get a salad to go… I’m not even done eating it and I had to stop to write this. What a gem of a place in the Harvey West area. The ambiance is casual and comfortable, the staff is friendly and warm and the food is tasty and healthy. I think I just found my new lunch spot!

This is a charming restaurant in the largest historic preservation project completed in Santa Cruz. The focus of the community is art and culture and it has the promise of becoming a community focal point. Rebecca’s menu is limited but the quality is excellent. The Kale special was beautiful, tasty and sooooo healthy. The tuna was prepared with just the right amount of mayo and the pastries are to die for! This is not an easy place to find but once the theatre is renovated, I understand the lack of signage will be remedied. This is also a great spot to meet friends for a glass of wine or beer in the early evening. Enjoy and spread the word. Mary D

I had the tastiest soup at Rebecca’s. Since I was dodging gluten, eggs & dairy, I could not try a sandwich or some of the other delectable looking offerings. Instead, I had the white bean and kale soup. Basically a highly flavorful natural chicken broth base with perfectly done white beans and dried/sea salted chips of kale. My words on departure, «I cannot imagine a better tasting meal.» Simply, beautifully done. The service was great and the place looks wonderful.

I had a to go tri-tip sandwich here today and was a bit underwhelmed. The flavors of the swiss, spinach, horseradish were great, but the caramelized onions and tomato jam were scarcely present — the tri-tip though was abysmal. I think they are thin slicing the meat and frying it. For any meat lover this is a tradgey. Tri-tip should be slow cooked, thick cut and have some color to the center of the slice. The overcooked thin slice strips were dry and flavorless. I am really disappointed by my fellow Unilocalers who have supported the menu, and also disappointed by the recent sentinel review which spoke so highly of the restaurant. The staff was friendly, the décor was nice. Based on the owners history, and my memories of her mighty muffins, I suspect that the baked goods they offer are much better and may be back to give them a try, but it will be quite a while before I stop in for lunch or dinner.

I can’t believe how disappointing this place is…$ 3.00 for a 12oz can of coca cola soda and a tri-tip sandwhich that was soggy and sour tasting… so bad that I couldn’t even choke it down! ick! Will NOT go back.

Great coffee, great ambiance, kid-friendly, more upscale than you’d imagine but still with reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Have as of yet just had muffins and the croissant breakfast sandwich, and both were GREAT. The setting is cool, being around all the art spaces of the Tannery, and a really cool display about the history of the OLD tannery, back in the day, and the tanning industry in Santa Cruz, etc. We live a quick walk across the river foot bridge from this place, and I, for one, am thrilled they’re here! Can’t wait to give lunch and dinner a try. They’re now open til 11 with alcohol and tapas at night!

Great new spot at the Tannery Arts center! I stopped in after MotherSong(it’s right next door!), and the space is beautiful, with both indoor and outdoor seating.(A little gate for the outside patio would make it even better, for the escaping toddlers! I got a few muffins to go– raspberry cheesecake poppyseed, lemon curd poppyseed and chocolate chip cheesecake. They were ALL incredible– easily the best muffins I have ever had! Extra points added for having mini muffins for the kiddos, and for having a vegan muffin, and gluten free muffin as well! Can’t wait to come back and try some of the breakfast/lunch options. :) NOTE: They are currently only serving breakfast/lunch, and close at 3pm, but starting in October they will be open until 11pm, and will serve dinner as well.
