Good pizza and a decent price. Did not care for the attitude of the cashier who helped us. She asked me if the slice sitting out was mine, and I politely told her that mine was still in the oven. She took mine out of the oven, put it back, and gave me the luke warm slice. Terrible attitude.

First time trying this place and just a tip, if you go here for a to go, make sure you call. They are horribly slow. They took literally 25 minutes(no exaggeration) just to make a simple pizza. I work at a pizza place myself, and it does not take that long, or at least not past 15 min. Bad first impression.

Service was friendly. Food was alright. This wasn’t one of their best examples, but it was nearly at the end of the lunch rush, so it was understandable Their pepperoni slice was alright. It wasn’t anything special. There needed to be a little more sauce. There was a generous amount of pepperoni on it, and the pepperoni was flavorful. The dough of the pizza was a little too brittle, but it had enough chewiness to make up for it. This place can be amazing at times, but it depends on the time of day you go. This time I went was not one of their best it was closer to a negative experience. The staff was friendly, and did their best to make the process quick. The group in front was slow to pay, which made it difficult. The person serving was, however, quite attentive and friendly and got as many slices ready as she could. On a more normal basis I would give this place a 3⁄5 based on slices. I have only had a whole pizza from this chain once before, and it was amazing. Their whole pizzas are worth 4⁄5 stars from that one example a year or so ago. Their slices when not after, or near the end of, a lunch/dinner rush usually 3⁄5. The service deserved 3.5−4÷5 especially considering the circumstances they were under.

Pizza was sitting out to be warmed up. Not what you expect for 4.5 dollar a slice pizza… It didn’t bother me too much. Had a slice with pineapple and ham, to which in between bites I looked up and noticed a man in shorts with a five-o’clock shadowed face not only use his fingers to pinch something out of his nose, but also wiped his nose on his shirt. Immediately lost my appetite and left. Train your employees better. You won’t be in business for long running like this.

Was in town on a couple Sundays ago. Stopped in to visit a friend. Whenever I head toward Santa Cruz, it’s always necessary to stop off at a Pizza My Heart. Pizza was hot, portion size wasn’t bad, it was delicious. Only complaint if any was that it was a bit greasy. I went with a slide of pepperoni pizza while the others in my party went with other choices(attached). When eating a slice of pizza this size, I’m a fan of the, ‘fold it in half’ approach. I’ll admit I did take a few napkins before hand and attempted to dab off a bit of the grease on the surface. I didn’t want a pile of grease seeping down the front or back part of my pizza after I folded it up. My slice was warmed up to perfection. I was initially worried it wouldn’t be warm enough. Coming in on a Sunday though when the line is out the door, we had people in front of us. The people in front of us paying, along with the place coming off a little short staffed allowed the pizza to heat up to a good temperature. They didn’t burn it and it wasn’t the least bit cold. This place is worth a visit if you’re in the area and if you can find some parking. You don’t leave hungry, trust me.

Fun unique topping combinations and semi-large slices. But watch out, you’re paying for it. Pizza My Heart has one of the more expensive slices that you’ll find but once in a while, it’s worth it to splurge.

I called to ask how much extra a gluten free crust would be, and the person at the desk told me he could not tell me until he had my name, number, and order. When I said I would like to check before ordering, he told me he could not do that in his computer system. I asked to speak to a manager and he hung up on me. I called back and the same person said he was the manager and that the price would depend on the toppings. I again clarified I was asking how much extra a gluten free crust was, and he said he could not tell me and hung up again. We got pizza from Pleasure Pizza down the street where it is clearly stated gluten free is $ 1.50 extra, no hassle.

Don’t confuse this Pizza My Heart with the ones in Capitola where the service is good, fast, and friendly. The flavors of the actual pizzas are on par, but the customer service at this one(on the Pacific Garden Mall) is awful. Everyone seemed mad when we went in there. And sitting there waiting in a relatively empty restaurant for our pizza and it was taking over 30 minutes. So I go up to the counter to see if it’s ready, and it’s just sitting on the top of the oven. No one had ever called our name or brought it out to us, even though we were sitting RIGHTNEXT to the register! And no apologies for not calling our name or being late. Just a smileless scowl and dropped the pie on the counter. Not coming back to this location ever and wish I could take back my tip.

Es gibt leckere Pizza-Stücken… Preiswert. Leider nix außergewöhnliches, wie Parmaschinken, Anchovies… man kann auch nix zusammenstellen. Aber gute Atmosphäre und es schmeckt…

My girlfriends and I rented a lovely beach house in Santa Cruz over the Labor Day weekend. I knew wayyyy before we left San Francisco that I was ordering Pizza My Heart the first chance I got. So, we did. However, it took over an hour and a half to get our food delivered. My poor pregnant, diabetic friend called to find out when we could expect our pizzas and was treated horribly by Andrew… to the point of tears! So, I took the phone from her… thinking the pregnancy hormones were getting the best of her. I was wrong. Andrew was just a Prick! I asked him why he felt the need to «jump bad with the pregnant lady» and he went to town on me… degrading my Ebonics. Not only was Andrew a Prick; he was a racist Prick! Wow! Andrew needs to find a new job. Clearly he is UNHAPPY working for Pizza My Heart! And Pizza my Heart can kiss my black, Ebonics speaking ass!

Solid, very tasty pizza. Service is friendly, ambiance and restaurant itself is fun and casual but very clean and well-kept(really appreciated in a town in which Grunge Homeless Hippie is the most favored fashion), and most importantly pizza selection is fresh and veggie-friendly with high quality ingredients. Also, family friendly but also a nice place post-hike or mid-road trip! Biggest con — I am 99.9% certain that the diet coke dispenser was filled with diet coke with Splenda. You know that nasty post-Splenda taste that lingers in your mouth for several hours? Yeah, not appreciated. I have a feeling someone was not quite paying attention when filling up the Coke machine and that was a price we had to pay

Not sure what the big deal is. Is it because you get a t-shirt with a slice? Do I need to be stoned? Not sure. I got the slice with the HUGE roasted garlic cloves. It was tasty but I thought that the crust resembled cardboard… not much flavor, thin and kind of dry. The girl at the register was nice but the person dishing up the pizza obviously had someplace else that she would rather be. Not impressed.

Pizza My Heart is a Santa Cruz institution that I have visited many times over the years(having grown up in the Santa Cruz area). We dropped in to the downtown location for a quick lunch, and my boys each had a slice of cheese. I had my obligatory finders fee taste. It was quite decent, service was quick(cafeteria style order at the counter). This location has been upgraded, and there are some fantastic Santa Cruz /Beach photos lining the walls. Solid 3 stars for Pizza My Heart.

Have enjoyed visiting this local pizza by the slice shop since I was a little girl. I always have to stop by here when I vacation in Santa Cruz for the usual slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza. I love how they have remodeled the restaurant so it’s nearly three times larger with lots more searing available for customers. The service is always fast and friendly and the ambiance is always chill. I love the pizza and tshirt deal of $ 5 for a slice and commemorative shirt. Definitely recommend this pizzeria if you are in town looking for a quick bite to eat. Never disappointed here!

Decent pizza from what I tried. However, they were out of most options by the time we got there. The service is fast and the cashier was very friendly!

I haven’t stopped in this location in some time. In the heart of Santa Cruz. Came in recently to find the restaurant has remodeled and added more room. Staff was quick to greet me. I ordered a slice of Big Sur(pepperoni, sausage, onion, peppers) and a local beer. Pizza was cooked ok. Flavor was alright. A bit light to consume with the beer. Proceeded to get back in line to order the daily special. Staff has to put one in as they don’t have any. I was fine with that. Patient I was. Instructed 10 minutes. I’m sure it was longer than 10 minutes. They have a rush. Pizza looks ok for most part. Looks most cooked. Until the last quarter of the piece. It was definitely black. I stopped eating as my beer was done. Picture taken. Good: friendly staff. Mostly on top of moving the line. Bad: pizza is under impressing, overpriced for having the cult following. If burnt was the taste this was the place. I didn’t really want another slice. I’ll just have to try elsewhere for pizza the next time through.

They have 5 big screens to watch sport games! I love their chicken & bacon and their Big Sur pizza! Super delicious! Their 8 piece buffalo wings are good too but it takes 15 – 20 minutes to make. I love how they have a stamp card system! Depending on how many slices of pizza you have ordered, you can get soda, salad or a slice of pizza for free! Free always taste better! For $ 6-$ 7 you can get a slice of pizza and a Santa Cruz souvenir t-shirt! They also have a very cool high-tech soda machine! Super nice staff here!
