My wife, son, and I were patients with Dr. Lonna Larsh from 2013 to 2015 before we moved away from the Santa Cruz area. She was extremely thorough with our intake, taking into account each detail of our history and truly caring about our health as well as how we like to be treated so that we can best thrive. My wife had a condition that 13 other doctors could not solve. She was using an over the counter medication that was making the problem worse. Lonna identified the problem, which only occurs in very rare cases, and prescribed a diet change that cleared up the problem. This hugely changed our life quality and we are forever grateful. And the fees were always reasonable. There is really not any«waiting in the exam room.» You just come in and see Dr. Larsh. As simple as that. Wow! Thank you so much for doing what you do.

Dr. Larsh spends time listening to you and takes detailed notes… great bedside manner. I had time to ask all my questions, without feeling rushed. I felt heard by Dr. Larsh. Her speciality is a holistic approach or a functional medicine, she solves medical issues with both the Eastern and Western Medical mindset. It is good to have other tools to approach your health, then having a prescription. Prescriptions are OK with me — if they solve the problem. I came to her office for a conventional purpose and I would not hesitate to visit her again. I recommend her to many of my friends because she thinks outside the western box and she has experience in family medicine.

It’s funny how the clinical setting is dominated by «professionals» that put more stock in giving you a solution before listening to and understanding the problem. I’m not sure how a professional can survive any industry by trying to shove a pre-fabricated solution or resolution down a customers throat without really understanding the underlying situation. I guess the clinical setting is an exception to the rule — for now. Lonna does the one thing that is so underestimated amongst these other«professionals», yet so vital — she LISTENS, and tries to work with you. Like a partnership. My situation is complicated, and she really tries to review and dig around each and every little symptoms I describe. Like an investigator that see’s everything as possible clues. That’s how it should be!!! How the heck are you supposed to solve — or at least get closer to the problem — if you don’t investigate thoroughly enough? I have had the good pleasure of Lonna doing some homework on me even outside of the scheduled sessions. She follows up with me outside of those hours, and even on the weekends. We have only gotten started, but I definitely look forward to working with her more. There’s the saying that«People don’t care if you know everything, they just want to know that you care». I used to be a person that hinged my beliefs on knowing more than caring more. She has certainly helped me changed that mindset. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like you should expect her to be at her phone 24 hours a day for each patient; but she certainly goes way beyond the call of duty. She is worth every penny, and i’m glad she’s not working with insurance companies — otherwise she would have less time to work with US!!!
