Kanda Thai Massage

I was visiting Santa Cruz for the weekend and I was in need for a good massage. I went on Unilocal and came across a few massage places in Santa Cruz. None of them really caught my eye, except this one. I made an appointment for the next hour and I über-​ed from my hotel room. Immediately when I arrived I fell in love with the place. It is so nice and quaint. The energy in the place was very peaceful. I took off my shoes and was offered a beverage of choice. They offered several essential oils that are only found in Thailand which I thought was very unique. I was brought into my room shortly after and I had shorts and a towel waiting for me. For the next hour I had the best massage in my life !! I had the Aroma Thai massage which consist of half Swedish style and Thai massage. It was the best experienced ever. I didn’t realize how tight my back was. I had ripples on my back (atleast that’s how it felt) and by the time I was done I felt like a different person. I was lighter, my aura was cleansed and my Chakras were open. Oh and the best part about it was the woman who gave me the massage was this tiny 70 year old lady who happens to be the managers mom. Gotta love it !

Authentic massage. I felt so relaxed. I was thinking it was a little too hard but I wasn’t really able to communicate that to my massage therapist because her English wasn’t very good. I think she somehow knew though because she would back off a bit when it really hurt. I can honestly say that it was better than many luxury spas I’ve been to.

Best message i’ve ever had. The customer care was also the best, before during an after. I called on Sunday and they took me right in. 1.5 hour deep tissue massage. I’ll be back. You wont be disappointed. I was trying to figure out how my experience could have been better and i did. If Fairies came down from heaven to tell me how wonderful i was during the message I might have liked it more but i’m not sure.

Beautiful redecoration. Warm and Inviting, nice colors and fabrics, nice music and it smells really good. Great massage, though i wish the masseuse spoke more English so i could tell her what a great job she does! She’s very cute and knows her stuff!

We love and enjoyed our 1^st time experience at kanda. We had the 2 hours deep tissue massage. It was amazing. Excellent costumer service, neat place and so relaxing. We just knew that they change ownership. The new owners was super nice and accommodating.
The masseuse knows what they are doing. I highly recommend this place. They also have complementary food and drinks (water and hot tea). We would surely come back.

Very cute little massage place. I was able to walk in on a Friday evening without an appointment and get in right away. The owner was very friendly and chatting me up. They offer complementary hot tea and water. Massage www amazing. I got a Thai massage and it really helped unwind all my tightness from 60 miles of cycling. I also loved all the elephants they had and the massage therapist had taken a few towels and made them into an elephant with an orchid. Will definitely be back next time I am in town.

My husband and I had a 90 min Thai massage for the first time. We had a great experience. Melissa was so nice and our massages were awesome! Wish we lived in Santa Cruz to come by more often.

Most amazing massage! Hurt like hell but boy did Jenny work out all of the knots in my back. Did a move to my new house last Saturday and lifting those boxes did a number on my back. Highly recommend.

Kanda Thai Massage is a great place for Thai massage. The new owners are going the extra mile to make it a traditionally thai massage environment. Suzy did my massage for a good hour and has an incredible touch and is in tune to where my trouble spots are on my back and shoulders. Not to hard and not to weak. I ended up falling asleep! The front office staff are very nice and accommodating and made it easy to schedule my appointment. I will definitely go back. Mark.

Fantastic experience! Beautiful establishment, extremely friendly staff, and a world-​class Thai massage. My masseuse was amazing. She loosened up knots in my back I didn’t even know existed. I highly recommend you pay them a visit whenever you’re in the area. Easily the most enjoyable, effective massage I’ve ever had. I will definitely be back!

This shop located not far from boardwalk so I could get my muscle relaxed after enjoying some rides. It’s a little bit smaller than other shops but on the other side, it gives me a cozy feeling and makes me feel at home. They said they recently took over this shop from previous owner and still work on to improve the interiors and services. The staff looks very polite, warm unlike other big massage shops with many staffs where I have to wait with no excuse. Susie could speak only Thai so I had to explain to staff how do I want to be massaged. But she is very experienced and seem to already know which parts of muscle get relaxed. In general, I’m very satisfied for their service and I’d definitely recommend this shop for those who wants to experience real Thai massage.

I had been going to kanda weekly for, two years., I found out yesterday that Peggy and Anna have been let go. This a shock., they each were the best at their craft. Does anyone know how to get a hold of Anna.

Arik is the man and this place is the best! He really takes care of you and makes sure you are comfortable with the pressure!

I have never gotten a professional Thai massage before but I must say that I enjoyed the experience a lot. I got an hour long massage from Arik who is just an all-​around good guy and an amazing masseur. I was warned that these massages can get pretty deep into the muscle and that was the case but it felt amazing afterwards. It relieved so much tension in my legs and shoulders I cannot even believe it. Furthermore, Arik is so good at ready a person’s body that when he went over an area that I had previously injured, he could tell right away without me even saying anything. He started slow on my injured ankle, loosening up the muscles that lead to it. Afterwards, I felt 1000x better. I am not normally one to recommend spending money on a professional massage but honestly, this place is worth the money. You will not regret coming here, especially if you get Arik. I’m sure the other masseuses are good to, but he is for sure a stand out.

I highly recommend Peggy at Kanda Thai Massage if you want to find release from chronic pain.
She has eliminated the pain in my shoulders and back (likely fibromyalgia), the numbness in my toes, and is currently working on range of motion in my hips. I am 50 years old and with Peggy’s help I am beating back the aches and pains of my years. I also suspect that her work on aligning my veins, muscles, and joints contributed to a 20 pound weight loss.
Her massage is not for the faint of heart; she goes deep into the tissue and pokes around at trigger points. But, what you get is relief from the pain without medication. I could not recommend her more enthusiastically.

The worst Thai massage I’ve had, she complained the whole time about working too much and left the room 3 times during the massage to ‘take care of other business’? Also I scheduled a 2 hour Thai massage, but when she was done told me I had to pay $ 150 for an oil-​Thai which I didn’t ask for. Unprofessional, over-​priced, and basically a horrible experience. If I was you, save your money and avoid this business.
