Early Bird Airport Shuttle

I have to apologize to Early Bird for being late in getting my review online. I had to cancel an appointment shortly before it was scheduled, and was told no problem, and had it rescheduled for a later date. The ride was to S.J. Airport.
The driver was on time, and the ride over was enjoyable, and when I returned a driver was waiting for me, helped my with my luggage and the ride home was also enjoyable.

After reading reviews of drivers that couldn’t find houses, I made sure to give my cross street to help be sure driver could find me. My driver, Richard, called me the night before to reassure me that he knew my location and confirm pick up time of 4am. I loved that! Very professional! He arrived 8 minutes early and got me to San Jose Airport on time and the ride over the hill was comfortable! Will definitely use them again!

They could not find our house therefore forcing us to drive to the airport ourselves. Not a good way to start a trip. Their excuse was their gps didn’t work. This Early Bird service did not get the worm and left us wiggling on our own.

I’ve used this company probably 10 times now, and never been let down. The drivers are always on time, friendly and professional.

First time we’ve used Early Bird Shuttle from Aptos to SJC. Driver was prompt (5:00 a. m), more than courteous, personable, and professional! We enjoyed our conversation with him so much! I scheduled a pickup at SJC to Santa Cruz the day before arrival. After waiting 20 minutes past the scheduled pickup time, I call to confirm the shuttle is on the way. «Yes, but there’s bad traffic. It should be there soon» 10 minutes later, they call to say there was a mixup, the shuttle was never dispatched, and the next shuttle will arrive in an hour. At this point, I’ve wasted half an hour, plus the 45 minutes I waited for the scheduled shuttle.
I cancelled the shuttle and took an Über home. Über cost me 10 dollars more, but I will gladly pay the small cost increase in the future. The inflexible schedule and unreliable service of Early Bird mean I will not be doing business with them in the future.

Very nice experience with Early Bird Airport Shuttle. Office staffs are very patient and efficient, Drivers were on time, nice and friendly. Price is reasonable. Use them three times in two weeks. Very liable. will use them again. Highly recomended!

Can’t believe I thought a shuttle would be too expensive and avoided them for years. Used this service to San Jose. I am a life-​long nervous passenger, but not with the shuttle drivers I encountered. They managed Highway 17 and took my bag into/​out of the airport. The vehicles are comfortable, too. Think I’ll try this company to get to SFO next time for a non-​stop (also less expensive) flight. I don’t know that being shuttled costs me more than a park-​and-​ride situation, but the relaxed nerves are «priceless.»

I needed to get 6 students picked up from the San Jose Airport to a Hotel in Santa Cruz for an event. I kept looking on Unilocal and Google to find a business who could do this for a reasonable amount and still be dependable.
I found Early Bird Airport Shuttle/​Santa Cruz Flyer on Google and sent an email. They were willing to have a direct billing for the school so I thought a win win. They were any where from a few hundred less to $ 60 less than I was being quoted from other places. I thought another win win.
The students were picked up on time (both from the airport and then again from the hotel back to the airport). All of them said that the drivers were friendly, helpful and telling them how the family that owns the company is really supportive and great employers.
Happy we could help a small business and super happy to have found them.

First time using this shuttle service over super shuttle and they have been nothing short of amazing. All the delays to get home from the weather over New Years and every time I called I had the best service from Ana, Debbie M., Diana V. And the team. I have used Early Bird twice this year, and I can’t recommend them highly enough!
The first time was this past July, when I needed a very early morning ride from my home in the Santa Cruz Mountains to San Francisco to catch a flight to Ireland. I was a bit worried, as people often have trouble finding our house during the day, let alone at 2:00 a.m. The driver was right on-​time, however (a couple of minutes early, as a matter of fact), and it was so nice to be able to doze a bit on the way to the airport instead of fighting fatigue! The driver was very nice and professional, and it was worth every penny not to have to ask my poor husband to drive me to SFO well before the break of dawn on a work day!
I was so pleased with the service that we contracted with Early Bird to take all three of us to SFO for a trip at the end of September. This time we scheduled a pick up at the airport for after our trip as well. Same great service, and they were there waiting for us when our flight landed, even though the flight got in a bit early.
When you compare the price to the cost of long-​term parking at the airport (or to the hassle of finding someone to drive you), and factor in the pleasure of not having to drive 60 miles when you’re sleep-​deprived or jet-​lagged, it really is a no-​brainer. I figure this cost us about $ 50 more than long-​term parking for the same period (almost three weeks), and was worth more than that for the comfort and peace of mind. I will definitely use this service again.

Great service. Driver arrived about 10 minutes early, got me to the airport quickly and was substantially cheaper than the typical «black car» services for a private door-​to-​door trip. Will definitely use these guys again.

Will not use again. They charge more than our regular shuttle service and have very poor customer service.
As a business customer, I expect a receipt to give to my finance department as general practice or in case of an audit. I should not have to call to ask for one and not get it as told. Then call the next day and ask again only to be told they are really busy and they’ll get around to it in the next few days. Bad form.

Calling to make the initial reservation for a flight 2 weeks in advance was easy. I called back the next day (on a Friday) to cancel the reservation I made the day before. The woman that answered the phone was rude and kept sucking her teeth at me when I asked repeatedly not to be put on hold AGAIN!
The call to cancel the initial reservation and book something for a few days later took almost 33 minutes to complete. At one point I was put on hold for about 6 minutes. When the woman returned to the call, I asked not to be put on hold. I was told that there were other callers she had to deal with and that she was «real busy right now.» I told her I could call back in an hour or so if that would make things easier. She sucked her teeth and me and said, «hold on.» So, I waited.
All I wanted was to cancel my initial pickup and change the request to have a pick at the airport a few days later for my small group (3 people).
So, the day of the canceled pickup comes and the shuttle shows up. I tell the driver that there was a cancellation for this pickup and I show her my printed e-​mail confirmation that it was indeed canceled. The driver is nice and just tells me they probably didn’t do their job right at dispatch.
Next, I get a call from the shuttle dispatch office. I’m told that I’ll be charged for the non-​cancellation for the pickup. I tell her that I can forward the cancellation e-​mail to her so she can see that it was cancelled way in advance. So, I send the e-​mail over. She tells and I quote: «These reservations are all messed up. I need to know what you said because they put it in here like this because of something you told us. They didn’t get this messed up by magic.» Mind you, she raised her voice at me when she said this.
WHAT!!! I cannot believe she just blamed how terribly either ill trained or incompetent the worker (s) were that took my reservations and cancellation. I tell her that I would like to stay on the phone line until she reviews the forwarded email that I received from them regarding my requests. What does she say to that?
«Do NOT insult my intelligence.»
Wow. Just wow.
I have taken shuttles all over the world. I have been to some nasty third world countries. I can assure you that this place is probably in my top 3 of the most incompetent and rude WORLDWIDE when dealing with their customer service line.
In the end, because I had proof of my cancellation I did not have to pay for their mistake. However, I received no kind of compensation for my time. At the least, the woman on the phone could not even say a simple «Sorry. My mistake.»

We used Early Bird to get to the airport for our trip to Hawaii. We hadn’t been on vacation for years and it really made a difference not having to worry about getting to the airport on time and back when we got home. This is a great service and reasonably priced.

This applies well to Early Bird. You can count on them. They show up reliably on time, each and every time. Always courteous and helpful.
Yah it may be a little more pricey than driving and parking yourself, or using a shuttle service. But when you’re on a trip, you have enough hassles to deal with, why not start and end your trip on a pleasant relaxing stress-​free note? It’s well worth it.
Especially pays off on the return trip, when you are no doubt tired and frazzled after the long flight, and without that pre-​trip excitement. What a godsend to have Early Bird waiting there ready to whisk you home.
Using Early Bird also pays off when you are traveling with the whole family. They can bring a minivan with car seats, if need be, and it is a LOT less hassle than driving and parking yourself, juggling kids and baggage on those airport parking buses. Why not get dropped off right at curbside check-​in?
I used to travel a lot. Have used a lot of car services in my day. These folks are far and away the best.
