I really like this lab and prefer it over any other, when given a choice. Due to a medical condition, I have blood drawn every six weeks and will be required to do so for life. Unfortunately, my insurance only ever wants to cover the cost if I go to Quest Lab, which is right next door to Dominican’s lab. I have lousy veins and am a notoriously difficult draw and I never have a good experience with Quest. They have to try two or three times every time I go before they finally find a vein they can draw blood from, while Dominican’s lab manages to get it the very first time in nearly every case. The flobotomists at Dominican have always been infinitely warmer and more personable than those at Quest Lab as well. I resent that I’m forced to get most of my bloodwork done at Quest rather than Dominican due to insurance demands. On the rare occasion that they allow me to go to Dominican’s lab, it is always less stressful and a much better experience for me.

I regret using this lab for a couple of pre-op tests. There are much better alternatives including PAMF and Quest. There was only one other person in the waiting room and it took 1 hr 15 minutes from my registration to completion. The receptionist, Jane, is unpleasant and doesn’t seem to like her job at all. She let the phone ring off the hook without answering it. My bad choice, so the only thing I can do is warn others! One star is too generous.

I have had noting but AWESOME experiences at Dominican, and I have had plenty, that is, until now. There is one sour grape in the lab, she’s rude, short and does not fit the usual loving kindness found at Dominican. This applies to in person as well as telephone interactions. I don’t want to name names, but her name starts with a «B» and rhymes with«everley.» Sorry, I know the truth can be hard, but this woman is obviously lacking that caring gene that is so common among Dominican staff. Hopefully someone will give her a heads up(or maybe she needs more or less caffeine), whatever the case, get a grip woman, you’re in the service business, in a hospital no less a hospital known for it’s loving kindness and compassion. Your demeanor is more suited for the DMV office in downtown Brooklyn.
