My front bumper was hit recently and the insured’s insurance suggested Carmat for my repair work (if I chose to go there).
I have to say, I am very pleased with their professional office environment, staff and process on how they conduct business. I was greeted upon arrival, assisted immediately and treated with respect and care. Micah personally spoke to me about the repairs on my car and called me with updates.
My car was repaired in a matter of days (while I used a rental I picked up at their site) and the work done looks great.
My body shop was sold over two years ago and I haven’t had a need for assistance since, but I plan to use Carmat in the future.
I would highly recommend this business.

This place is Incredible and I highly recommend It above any where. Their service is top notch and they really care about their customers and the finished product. Ya it might take a little while to get it done but what can you expect when they are so in demand? They did everything I would expect and even more. I had the passenger side of my civic done there and the paint looks awesome and matched up to the existing color perfectly.
They were also super helpful with the rental car I had to have through the whole time!!! I couldn’t of asked for a better shop or a better experience. Thank You

Took my Prius here after some front end collision damage, it was recommended by my Progressive insurance. They were able to get the car done in just 2.5 days and I had it back before the weekend. I was very pleased with the timeliness and quality of service. My Prius looks even better than it did before the accident. They even buffed out my headlights and vacuumed the insides. Carmat goes above and beyond. Shoutout to my estimator Micah, who is a total boss! Thanks!

I was so bummed when my brand new truck was rear ended, but the team at Carmat really made the experience as smooth and painless as possible. Mikah was so kind and helpful throughout the entire process and he always checked in with me to make sure I was up to speed on the whole thing. Carmat was a place my insurance works with. Demarco was my agent who handled my claim and he did an excellent job. There was a cosmetic repair that isn’t noticeable, so I opted to save $ 100 instead of getting it done and they passed the discount onto me so it lowered my deductible. I was very satisfied with the repairs done to my vehicle and the warranty that comes with it. They advised me to go with a rebuilt part because it has a lifetime warranty. The new parts don’t come with that kind of guarantee, which is surprising! They detailed the inside of my car and it looks brand new! The level of customer service was excellent and I’d recommend anyone to go to this place for all auto repairs. Thank you Micha, Demarco, Matt and the Carmat crew!

I initially chose Carmat Collision because of positive reviews and it’s close proximity to me. And I am extremely happy I did! They took on quite an extensive repair after my car was in an accident. Their level of service exceeded all of my expectations and was top notch! The front desk receptionists were very friendly and helpful and my body shop representative, Micah kept in close contact with me along the way and gave me frequent updates on the process and truly made the whole process a great experience given the circumstances. The lead body man who fixed my car went over everything in detail and was very professional. Many thanks also go out to their detail guy. He truly made my car look better than when it was new. I couldn’t be happier and am extremely satisfied with my first class experience with Carmat Collision.

I brought my 2000 Acura Integra GS-​R to Carmat for a claim. Some idiots in the Bay Area hit my car with overspray from their painting job. An oil-​based product dusted every exterior surface of my beautiful car. Carmat handled the insurance claim directly and efficiently because they are a preferred vendor for my insurance company. They truly went the extra mile. Even though they were booked solid the day I took my car in for an estimate, they took the time to thoroughly clean the material off my windows so I could drive safely until my scheduled appointment. Today when I picked the car up, Rafael, the lead detailer brought the care around, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The car is in showroom condition. He and his crew went well beyond the claim. They cleaned the interior as well and treated the headlamps which had been cloudy for a long time. I am so happy that my «baby» is back on the road and looking so good.

OK, I just have to let everybody, but especially single women, out there about the best place to go to if you are in the area of Santa Cruz, CA and need help with Auto Body problems. Having lost my husband to cancer and then moving away from his brothers, sons and most of the male friends who could advise me, I was pretty much at the mercy of any shop that would gleefully take advantage of a single woman that would show her lack of knowledge in this area with only a few questions! I was lucky enough to get sent to Carmat in Santa Cruz by my insurance company after an accident last year. I only had the estimate done there, not the work, because I left soon afterwards for Wisconsin. Since I have been back, I have run into other problems that required my car being towed there and various problems being handled. A gentleman by the name of Dennis has seen me through everything with the least stress possible and he has consistently shown the greatest regard for my financial circumstances. If ratings were from 1 to 10, I would give this company a 20. The ladies in the reception area are always friendly, helpful and very conscientious about customer service.
I never personally met any of the service people that work at Carmat, but I was impressed that my car was always returned showing that care had been taken. Plus, I noticed many smiles and heard laughter in the «yard», so i hope that means that they enjoy working there!
There is only one problem with this company. It looks like they need to expand, as they are running out of room!!!

This place is very good and has very good people. I had my car in after hitting a dear and they took great care of everything. The car was fixed to perfection and it was done in a matter of 2.5 days. Very fast turnaround for a foreign car. I would also like to make a personal note on my helper Marta. She was awesome, answered all my questions, kept me informed on the fix and was just super all around. Don’t hesitate to bring your ride here they will make it right again.

AAA sent me here after I was rear ended and I had an overwhelmingly positive experience. I worked primarily with Dennis who was exceptionally helpful and kind. He walked me through the process and made it a lot less stressful for me. I would go back to him in a heartbeat if I ever needed repairs.

Forced to go here after a woman (luckily insured) caused my car injury. This place is very organized and efficient! My rep, Mark was super helpful. My only regret is asking them to also install my spare tire I had in the back seat (planning to see my regular Ed’s Auto to install, it’s a Fiat, so the spare is an add-​on). I should have asked for a quote, so MY BAD. Having uninsured extra work done is something I won’t do without a quote first (it was 3 times what I anticipated based on time needed, which I researched, and parts which I provided). Otherwise, if your insurance is paying, feel assured they do excellent work! Thank you, Mark (and associates!)

If you are unlucky enough to be in an accident, this is the place to go! They recently did a great job repairing my Jeep. Everybody was very friendly. I was in and out in less than 5 days. I stood around and watched the place before I made my final decision on where to take it. Everybody was hustling around. The place looked very efficient, very neat, clean and organised. Their bid was competitive. If i ever get banged again, I’d go back.

Carmat does superb work. I’m an employee at Subaru Santa Cruz and when my bumper got hit they made it look great, and matched a very difficult metallic purple paint job. I recommend all my customers to have their car fixed here as well. Mika went out of his way to make it perfect.

They fixed a dent in my car door but disabled the electrical when doing so. When I complained, they said that I probably listen to music too loud.
Eventually they fixed it but I had to go back an additional three times. I’ve spent a cumulative four hours in the waiting room there. I recommend headphones for the waiting room, as the mechanics are blaring music on the other side of the wall.
Overall bad customer service, most employees don’t seem like they want to help and ultimately make you feel like an idiot. I had one person show me how to use the lock/​unlock/​panic buttons on my key clicker, as though it was new to me! Brian was helpful (by the end of the experience, I’d turned into a difficult customer) and patient with me.

I bring ALL of my cars here as well as the rest of my family. I encourage every person reading this to go to the «not recommended/​filtered» reviews because they have 5 pages of almost entirely great reviews because Unilocal totally dropped the ball. I really don’t understand all of the bad reviews.
I have worked with a few different estimators including Mark and Troy (a while back) and I always felt informed the whole way through and they even did a full walk around when I dropped off to make sure I was aware of every dent and scratch going in (and trust me there were a few!)
I also HIGHLY recommend getting your car detailed by Rafael while you are there. I send EVERYONE I know there for his detailing because he is seriously amazing and I also got a discount because I was getting body work done at the same time. When he buffed my car a few of those scratches from check in even went away!
One thing I noticed when I was dropping one of my cars off was the techs all sitting around outside, like one of the poor reviews stated. I then heard «BREAK TIME IS OVER» over the loud speaker and realized they were only sitting around because they were on break. So all you have to do is think about it before writing a crappy review.
Again I can’t say enough about this place! Always great service and most importantly my cars always look great. I have never had a problem with the work done and it is much better quality than when I went to the place down the street from them quite a few years back before I found Carmat through my insurance.
And when it comes to insurance this place knows exactly what to do. They deal with the agents and claims for me so all I have to do is file it and they take it from there. They even got me checked into a rental on site so I didn’t have to go back and forth to Hertz. And of course they are an insurance shop. the insurance company recommends them because they do great quality work!
I definitely would tell anyone to give this place a try and don’t listen to people complaining just because they are upset they got in an accident!!!

This place is totally fraudulent and unprofessional.
They did not fully repair the damage and did a quick, half-​assed job and I assume they hoped I wouldnt notice. But when I did notice they were extremely rude and dismissive and I’m still dealing with this companies FRAUD. They assured me they would not charge me until later this summer when they got a new part in for my car and they would fix the terrible job they did but they DID CHARGE ME.
Also, the took my credit information for a rental car they provided but assured me they would pay for the first 7 days but again, I checked my account and THEY DID CHARGE ME!!! Now I have to deal with my bank on top of this bulls*t that they put me through.
Total scam… I wish I had read Unilocal reviews before I gave this dump any business.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I’ve gone here twice, and every time my car has come back IMMACULATE. They kept me informed as the process went, so I knew what the status was. The fact that they have a Hertz rental car location basicaly onsite was also hugely helpful since I didn’t have to organize that seperately.
So the most recent accident happened on my way home up in the mountains — I hit a big coyote, and it busted my grill, and cracked my bumper. The repairs took a little longer than anticipated because there was more damage behind the bumper which doesn’t really surprise me. However, they let me know right away and still had it done in a short amount of time.
Another person put in that they were annoyed that the owner wanted to personally show the repair work to them and make sure it was satisfactory before they left. How is this a problem? Of COURSE he doesn’t HAVE to do that. It’s a courtesy! He’s making sure not to only personally connect with his clients, but also to make sure the work is to their satisfaction. How is that a bad thing? He did the same thing for me and I was really happy about it — to me, that’s good customer service. So many business owners sit in the back office and let their employees run the show. Not here — he’s out there working the floor, checking in with customers and personally connecting. I love it.
If you want a really quality job done on your car, I really truly recommend this place!
