Beware of the single slices of vegan carrot cake which are individually wrapped. My brother in law and I shared a piece over the TG holiday and got terribly ill, i.e., he wound up in the ER and I was up every 15 minutes for 10 hours in the bathroom; not fun, in fact, very painful. We still don’t know if the batch of carrot cake was bad or if the handling process at New Leaf in Santa Cruz on Fair St. had something to do with it, but we definitely know something was wrong with the carrot cake. I wanted to send this review out for all to read, since I would hate to have a young child or elderly person eat this and really wind up terribly ill… my brother in law and I are young and strong and bounced back within a couple of days, but I worry about children and the elderly.

Wow, this Hummus is great! Please package a larger party size Aunt Nettie! The texture is so good, drizzle a little good Santa Cruz County olive oil(Olio delle Colline di Santa Cruz, or Balazana) for a great contrast in texture. MMMMMM

I purchased a small tub of their hummus from New Leaf Market a few days ago and it’s almost, er pretty much GONE. it is OHSOGOOD. While other hummus is smooth and silky, this one is chunky with parsley in it. It’s creamy, tangy and perfectly seasoned. Even though I’m on the verge of a full blown cold(boo!) and am starting to lose my sense of taste, it still tastes good. I think this is something I always want in my fridge.
