This is a little known 7-acre garden that is hidden up in the hills above Central Park. It’s a community project that was built in an effort to raise water conservation awareness. It has 350 varieties of drought-tolerant plants, flowers and grasses on display. It was enjoyable strolling along the windy, self-guided, path viewing the different sections of the garden. It was a peaceful and relaxing way to spend an afternoon. To enter the facility you first need to obtain a pass from the gate attendant located off to the left at the park’s entrance. You then drive up the hill, park, and then check-in at the front entrance of the building. The garden is free and it is open to the public 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.
