As I pulled into the Edward’s Movie Theatre Plaza, I was greeted by a large blue sign; «Lian’s Sweet Shoppe» it said. As I followed it’s directions to the store, I came to a spot I’d been too before. Apparently the CupCakery«Bake U Happy» had gone the way of the dinosaurs, and closed. A Shame, I do enjoy cupcakes. But it had been a while since I’d visited. So, now I have a new dessert place. This place is a place that sells Macarons. I guess they’re French cookie things. Me being the guy who enjoys welcoming new stores into my town, I parked my car and walked into the place. On the door, it read ‘Free Samples!” I like free samples of cookies. I entered, and the place looked like it was still setting up. Apparently they haven’t been open for very long at all. I asked about their wares, and nice kid behind the counter gestured to the counter sitting between us. I looked at my options for taking some home. Small Box of six macarons for ten dollars. Woah! That seems kinda steep. But, I do like to support my local and new dessert places, so I looked into the counter for six cookies. The cookies were very colorful. Every color of the rainbow was at my choice on the other side of the glass counter. Reds, blues, purples, creams, coffees, pastels, and assorted others. Every row of cookies seemed full also. As if I was the first person ever to step in here. Maybe I was. I went with familiar flavors, Red Velvet, Mint, Chocolate, Blueberry, Raspberry… as I made my way down the counter I saw flavors I wasn’t sure about, curious, I added a Ferro Roche and Lavender to finish out my six. The total was ten and change, kid swiped my card and made me sign on his ipad. I hate signing on ipads. But I guess they’re new and hip. Mom then came out with what looked like new cookies in a plastic tray. I wished them the best of luck, and I excitedly exited the place with my new and interesting dessert. So far I’ve only tried the lavender one, and they’re indeed quite tasty. Very sweet and creamy. I’m glad I could welcome this place. FYI: I had to look it up. I really had no idea what the heck a Macaron was:
