I live in Santa Clarita and each time I drive up Soledad I remember my odd and interesting experience at this chiropractic office. I was a client at this office several years ago and I knew something was odd on my first couple visits. First, he calls himself The Back Doctor of SCV… hmmmmmm…really? ok write me a prescription… oh you can’t do that how about perform even the most minor surgery… oh you can’t do that either… hmmmmm. Maybe a chiropractor is a «doctor» who uses fear mongering and clever marketing ploys to get repeat business instead of proven scientific methods. Much of what chiropractors do is based on the pseudoscience of sublaxation. Do you know any«Doctors» that sell supplements in their office? probably not. This office is pushing supplements for your joints that I actually purchased, shame on me, that do absolutely nothing. You know why they are not approved? Because they don’t do anything… snake oil. Anywho…my first couple visits were fine, Mr. Standifer is polite and friendly and cracks you up real good like any other chiro. Anyone who has been to several chiropractors know they have a routine… they walk in exchange pleasantries, stand up, «oh yeah you need some adjusting» blah blah blah, lay down, «oh yeah one leg is shorter than the other», blah blah, turn to your side, now the other side. «ok now let me crack your neck», blah blah blah. If you go enough times you realize they have a pattern and they do the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over. Have you ever been cornered by a salesman, con man, multi level marketing putz and you get that uneasy feeling and it may cross over into something is really not right here. Well that was my experience at this office I start to notice the wife, who runs the front office, has this Stepford Wives stare as if she’s listening to the voices in her head. Then I start to notice everyone in the office is a bit odd and in a submissive zombie like state. Its at that moment I hear the music playing in the office and I say to myself, «self, what is that horrible music?» …OMG…OMG…OMG…it’s christian music, which is almost like real music except the words tell you why need you a crutch in your life and the sounds make you want to take your own life. Then I look down and I notice there are several religious pamphlets in each room and in the the front office… and then it hits me right in the face… OMG…THEYAREBORNAGAINS… run for your lives… they are coming!!! Seriously now, these people are so brainwashed they have to push their religion within their business? It’s their business so they can do whatever they choose but guess what they are not collecting from my Blue Cross PPO that pays 90% of what they bill. It was just weird and creepy and I decided to not return. This was my experience at this office and you may enjoy a little sermon with your back cracking… so to each his own. BTW… in speaking with Mr. Standifer he told me he has many clients from his church and I have a strong feeling that may be related to his other reviews. ;) How many chiropractors does it take to change a light bulb? Only 1, but it takes 47 visits.

Dr Standifer is a great doctor and the front desk staff very kind and caring. I highly recommend this practice. Western medicine uses a bandaid. Alternative medicine treats the wound.

Agree with the other 5 star review. Dr Standifer is wonderful and cares about you as an individual. He takes time to listen to your actual issues rather than assuming he already knows you. He has given me relief from my sciatica for the first time in many years, many medical doctors and many prior treatments. I’m looking forward to feeling better because of him

Have you ever gone to see a Doctor that you HOPE will help you, but instead they give you a temporary remedy and charge a huge bill? That really bugs me. Doctors are supposed to help people. Dr. Standifer and his family are physical examples of «Healthy People». They walk the walk and live the clean life, without being condescending or judging others. Dr. Standifer is patient and listens to your concerns and helps get you healthy again. I was shocked to hear he survived leukemia in his childhood. Not only is he one of the top chiropractors in SCV, he is very committed to clean eating and has suggested whole food supplements that have really helped my issues. I have been going to Dr. Standifer since 2008. When you are ready to find a Dr. that cares, go see Dr. Standifer.
