I haven’t seen Karen as a patient but have taught her classes. She is a kind and caring person who knows her stuff. I wouldn’t hesitate to see her if my insurance would allow. She takes her continuing education very seriously. She’s down to earth and is always willing to learn continuously adding to her already wide breadth of knowledge, that is so important when dealing with patients.

I tried being Karen Davis’s patient for about a year but the experience made me miserable. I went in seeking bio identical hormone replacement and strangely, never received it. What I did get was frustration and condescension each step of the way. Among other negative experiences, I was told test results I was anxiously waiting for we’re unavailable, so many times, I finally went to the testing facility and got the results myself. Nevertheless, Dr. Davis’s office continued to insist the results weren’t yet available(even when I had them in my hands.) When I asked for a specific cholesterol test, a vd test was ordered instead. Sure this could happen anywhere but this was the rule not the exception. Communication with office staff proved to be frustrating, punitive and bizarre. When i next asked for the cholesterol test, i showed up at an outside lab with the prescription which was once again wrong, this time after fasting for many hours. the test could not be done but the lab agreed to call davis’s office and was told that they had decided I didn’t need the test(that I wanted and was paying for out of pocket.) It was clear over the year that the office staff found me to be an annoyance. My last request for a prescription to be filled went unanswered. When I followed up, worrying about a long holiday weekend, I was told that the doctor wanted me to come in before refilling the prescription. I asked when they had planned on letting me know this and remarkably, they replied that they were planning to tell me when I called back! I grudgingly made the appointment which would cost me at least 100 bucks but got an email from Davis apologizing for the miscommunication. Imagine my surprise when I got a 58 dollar bill for missing the appointment I hadn’t wanted or needed in the first place. I paid it and made an appointment elsewhere for follow up care. In summary, I feel that I received mediocre care, terrible communication, disrespect, and many bills for services that were advantageous only to the various providers of services. Dr. Davis, why, oh why did you not prescribe the bio identical hormones I asked for in the first place or even tell me that you were not?

By posting my comments, I am putting myself at risk at not being able to get an appointment with Karen in the future. Because once you meet Karen… no one else will do. Karen treats her patients with dignity and grace. I recently had a health scare, and Karen had me at a top Cardiologist within 1 ½ days of being at my appointment with her. And she called me at home to review all my labs with me, and updated me on the game plan for my care. Karen is VERY smart, and has great compassion for her patients. When you want to be treated by a person who is as smart as she is kind… Karen Davis is the one for you. And she has a very professional and caring staff as well. With all the changes and cuts in Healthcare these days, and there are many… it is nice to be treated with such AMAZING care. Trust me when I say this… this is RARE find these days.
