We loved this place. Found it on Unilocal on a whim and were so happy. Small restaurant, a little hard to find. But the service was great. The owner was there busing tables and talking to all the guests. It was a very personal experience. We went for Saturday morning breakfast and had delicious burritos. The wait time for the food was a little longer than I usually wait at breakfast places but the food was really good so we didn’t mind. :)

This place is awesome! Even my take out food looks amazing! I love it how they always write«enjoy» and a happy face on my to go boxes :) Food is delicious, I’ve tried just about everything :) These pictures are of my Bomb sopes and chicken nachos. The restaurant is really small but it’s real authentic Mexican food and it never disappoints. Go try it… Now lol! :)

This place is amazing! Great service, always very kind and courteous. Home cooked takeout in 15 minutes! It’s super compact inside so I always take it to go… but it’s hot and fresh and delicious by the time I get it back home. Great tacos and the albondigas soup has so much flavor! This is my new favorite Mexican spot!

Awesome food… Great great service. So glad we found this gem. Went to vasquez rocks and stopped on the way home. Very clean… very quaint. has outdoor seating. But indoor is very nice. Staff are all friendly and prompt. Will definitely return on our next trip.

A reasonably friendly restaurant, in an extremely tight space. But they failed our first test of judging good Mexican with stale chips. Very important when making our overall decision whether to return there or not. The entrees almost made up for it though, with both me and Jackie pleased with our choices. I ordered the Two Tostadas plate, with the choice of chicken, while the wife had a Combo of chicken taco and enchilada with rice and beans. A nice first time outing here, but it didn’t necessarily warrant a desire to return a second time.

Cute little place! Came here with the boyfriend on a late Sunday morning. As a Latina, I definitely feel like their food is delicious! I had the carne asada plate and he had their huevos rancheros. For the asada plate, he careful with the salsa! It was a bit spicy for me, but nonetheless good. ;)

What a shame that this amazing restaurant is so hidden. They deserve main street traffic. From the refried beans(the best I have ever tasted) to the Pollo with fruit, this is Latin food worth repeating. The menu begs to be explored, and the chef was a a delight to speak with. ¡Provecho!

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant besides the place back in Celina, OH where I grew up(and the two are not comparable in the slightest). Ay Caramba! IS the best Mexican restaurant in Santa Clarita. Every time I’ve went(from right after it opened while the one owner was working as a server elsewhere and his wife and daughter«ran shop») to recently with my boyfriend has been an amazing experience. I have never had anything bad on their menu, or anything less than stellar service. At least every other time I go, I get the Chile en Nogades. I still have yet to find any other restaurants in Los Angeles that serve it – so of course it’s a major thing that brings me back. It – and well – the Sopa Azetca… which is hands down the best SA I’ve ever had.(And my boyfriend says the same about both dishes.) He has plans of bringing his best friends here when he attends grad school – and they live as far as Covina and Long Beach… so…if him encouraging them to join us for dinner there is any tell tale of how great this place is: you get the picture. I wish they were open a little longer on Sundays – but – I understand everyone deserves an evening off, so I can’t complain or diss them for such a decision to close early once a week. It just means I have to get there for lunch instead! :D 10⁄5 stars. That’s right: a double 5 star rating, and much deserved.

Surprisingly delicious food, very friendly service, a few dog-friendly tables outside, decent-sized portions, and a broad selection of menu items. It’s a tiny little spot that you could easily confuse for a take-out counter or a drive-thru spot(it’s neither). We expected just a quick-and-easy bite to stave off hunger, but found ourselves enjoying a meal that could put to shame meals from many larger, more-established Mexican restaurants.

It was a Saturday night, and Schoolteacher and I were hungry. After a long day at the beach, we had arrived here quite late. It was just after 9 at night, and surprisingly, this place was still actually pretty crowded. Good sign. Before we entered the place, we were greeted, and given a choice of inside or outside seating. It was a cool evening, and the cool air felt quite nice on my red and terribly sunburnt skin. The outside tent was directly adjacent to the parking lot. It was lit nicely using one of those wicker ball light thingies the people sell in tents over by the gas station. I’ve always thought about getting one of those, they’re really cool. We sat down, and were given menus and drink orders were taken. Chips and Salsa was placed between us. An iced tea appeared nearly instantly. The cold iced tea helped to further cool down my burning skin, and it was kept full the whole time we were there. After reviewing the menu, I decided upon the Breakfast burrito. Because breakfast for dinner is always a great idea. Schoolteacher went with the lonche sandwich. We discussed our day for a little while, and the chef came out, and greeted us. Made sure everything was okay. The lady at the table next to us seemed quite upset about something, and turns out she was complaining that her vegetarian dinner seemed to not be vegetarian. «I thought I saw chicken in there.» The chef was actually coming out with another plate of the same thing, and also to personally assure her that there was in fact, no meat in her vegetarian dinner. What’s that age old saying? «How do you know if somebody is a vegetarian?» «Don’t worry, they’ll fu$#ing tell you about it.» So the chef pandered to the annoying vegetarian lady with her family. Her family was just fine. Vegetarian Mom was the annoying one. Watching the Chef pander to the lady made me just a little sad. So my breakfast burrito was good, Schoolteacher said her sandwich was okay. Assorted people kept coming out to check on us, refill our drinks, and make sure everything was okay. It was nice. Service was great, food was good. I’ll most likely be back. Maybe I’ll get breakfast for breakfast if it’s not too crowded. Good job Ay Caramba!

I had this authentic joint bookmarked for too long. I finally dragged myself out to Canyon Country after my workout with my gym partner and we were ready to grub! First thing we noticed is that it’s in the middle of nowhere… which is kind of awesome. The plaza was deserted and there were luckily enough seats available, granted that it’s such a small, intimate place. No reservations available! I think it had been a drive through at one point and the restroom is outside, around the side, but it adds to the quaintness of the place! I noticed the music while munching on our complimentary chips and salsa/beans and waiting for our order. It changed drastically one minute from jazz to Latino songs. Pretty tight! The salsa was also to die for. It had a slight mild kick to it and was very hearty. We ordered the cochinita pibil by recommendation of the server/owner/wife? I think she makes it herself, according to her, but I’m not sure if she was just joking around. We also got the adobada(marinated pork) and banana nutella crêpes. All the dishes were soo good and when I thought my dish(adobada) needed more of a kick, they brought out habanero sauce, which is normally paired with other dishes, while mine comes with a tomatillo sauce that I was not a fan of. Even then, the sauce wasn’t spicy enough, so the owner brought out a spicier version-and THAT, my friends, is what you all need to ask for if you want spicy. Otherwise, their normal sauce just won’t cut it. It was nice that they were so attentive to my desires and that they made an effort to bring options until I was satisfied. The dessert was also excellent but I wish it had more nutella, especially around the edges! It was mainly all gathered in the center. I am not a huge nutella person so you can see how good that dessert must have been~ I think the owners(husband and wife?) truly feel happiness in seeing their customers happy with the food, as can be seen by their numerous inquiries of how our food tasted and what else we might have needed. The service was amazing and I felt at home. I will definitely be back-just wish it were closer to my house. :(
