Absolutely the best memory for the best price with the best service! I’ve bought from MemoryX several times and really appreciate that I can save a few bucks(and get my memory right now) by picking up the memory at the will-call desk!

MemoryX’s site makes it very easy to identify what RAM you need and the cost. You pickout your brand of system, the model, and then it pulls up the available size and how many slots/max your system can handle. I’ll use their site first to pull up the spec then cross-shop. I’ve bought from MemoryX a couple times now, both as a walk-in and will-call. Either way, you have to press the buzzer to be let into the building. You’re standing outside with no way to know if someone inside sees your or not, the windows are mirror tinted. Weird, at first, but I’m more comfortable with this procedure now. Anyways, if you walk-in you let the receptionist know you’re there for MemoryX, she calls over an agent who take your order, round up the sticks, bills you, and you’re done in under-15min. If you’re will-call, then you’ve ordered and paid for it online, bring the printout receipt(you can probably just show up with your CC and name, though I make sure I have my documentation to prevent a revisit). Anyways, the will-call door is near the loading dock, again, press the buzzer, wait for the tone, open the door. Of all the RAM I’ve bought from them, I haven’t had any problems. I do know they photocopy all the RAM you bought, for their file. All the RAM are labeled with MemoryX’s sticker, I’ve not seen another manufacturers label on them. They have a good warranty, so I feel comfortable shopping with them.

MemoryX has just provided me with the single worst purchasing experience of my life. I ordered 30 identical sticks of RAM from them for just under $ 3000. When the RAM arrived I noticed that it was a hodge-podge of different manufacturers. Some DIMMs had manufacturers stickers, some sticks didn’t, but they were helpful enough to include an entire sheet of stickers that said«warranty void if removed». Of course this garbage RAM didn’t work in my servers despite having ordered using the manufacturer’s part number and specs… so I contacted them for an RMA. This took 4 days for them to finally decide that they would RMA this junk, but only if I authorized my credit card for another $ 3000 so they could send out another batch of the same RAM. They promised a prepaid mailing label with all of the RMA info included. Instead, after waiting another 10 days, I just got a box full of packing peanuts and some sloppily packaged RAM. Hopefully these will work, but I’m still out close to $ 6000, several hours of grief, and still have no way of completing their defective return. Despite what the other reviewer said, I’ve gotten more professionalism from the pizza-faced kids at Fry’s and Newegg.

Ok let’s face it, Fry’s is the suck. I had to buy memory for a server here at my company and they got me stuff(2 times) that just didn’t work. I had to sit in their customer service line for like 30 min. Ugh. Checked out and found the exact memory I needed for my machine. I also realized that they were just a hop away from my company so I called them up and they had my purchase ready to pick up in will call. Must have been one of the most pleasant computer related purchases ever. If you’re in the tech field and need memory for Cisco routers, unix servers, or any type of pc, do yourself a favor and get it here. Prices are pretty competitive and you get exactly what you need the first time. The only drawback is that they are a big warehouse and don’t have a showroom per se. So you just go on line find what you want and have them ship it or will call it. Now I have to go back to Fry’s and return their shite again. Bastards!
