The best food I ate for ten years, whenever I had a school break I would go and eat any kind of break which included spring break, winter break, holidays, my only desire was to go to Mehran! :)

Excellent food full of flavor. I’m most impressed with their use of whole spices. I’m Mexican/white with a huge appreciation for global, authentic flavors. This is my second visit and once again I’m thoroughly satisfied thanking God for the flavors going into my mouth. This rivals the best food I had in India.(So good I have been compelled to Unilocal

went there for a late night dinner with a friend. wanted to try a Pakistani place and this was close. We ordered a grill combo, paneer muter, and lamb curry. The waiter was very nice but it took a while for the grill combo to come out which we were warned about. The food was quite good, the tandoori chicken was great. It was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The shish kabobs was pretty good. My lamb was excellent in taste and texture, it was thoroughly cooked and the flavors was well accentuated with even plain naans. My recommendation is to order a la carte and you should enjoy this place.

This is my favorite Indian place. The chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and chilli fish are delicious, the service is usually great, and the value is excellent(less than $ 10 after tax for weekday lunch buffet, with naan and chai). I do wish they’d cook with a bit less oil, but that’s my only complaint. The main host is very nice. They are usually great about refilling your water. *Yelp — can you please take down Paul S.’ racist review? It’s been there for 4 months, with an anti-Muslim comment in the middle of it. Not cool. Thanks!

This place is a hit or miss. Experience varies on weekday vs. weekend. They had serious problems with flies sometime back. Went there for lunch buffet on August 17th Sunday and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was very clean, no flies this time. Food was fresh. They even had goat paya with goat biriyani which was very good. On week days it’s not that good. They need to be consistent with cleanliness and menu

I came here with my father after Friday prayer at MCA we wanted to go to Kabab and Curry but they closed at 2:30. Anyways we saw this place on the main road and stopped by. It seemed like an average restaurant. There were 3 empty dishes in the buffet. The rice was one of the few that had some a bit less than half. If you’re going to have a buffet at least know to refill the dishes especially when you’re busy! We waited for the meats to be ready. Then when we went for the meat, the rice was cold n almost finished! In addition to that the plates had scratches and there was a fly. Definitely won’t come here again.

New management makes all the difference. the place is clean, service is fast and friendly, and the new managers go out of their way to help you, water you, check on you even though nights are a buffet, if you wish. again, super clean. no more greasy glass table tops. the food is fresh, and less oily, and far less salty. its a huge turn-around. i was reluctant to try it again, but i have been back twice with my boyfriend while the new owners have re-imagined this tired place, and its no fluke: its good. the bathrooms are clean and as dry as you can expect in a muslim frequented restaurant. the buffet is substantial, with fresh salad and desert. only two vegetarian items on the buffet at times, so what did the woman manager do? brought me chana masala from the kitchen, just for me! i hope more people come and give it another chance. its great food without the grease and attitude of kabab and curry, and minus the sloppiness of shan. makes me glad to see their new success!

I was craving for Indian food for a long time and unfortunately all the indian buffets are close between 2 – 5 pm which is the time I usually think about lunch! My friend suggested this place and told me that they always have buffet. I called them and they said they are open: D And they had salad, all sorts of Indian food and some desserts and indian tea which I love :) the staff were very polite and nice. Their price was also very good. $ 8.99 for weekdays and $ 10.99 for weekends. I was thinking to give 4 stars to this place but I saw many people were not fair to rate this business so I decided to raise their average ;)

At 6:45pm on a weekday, they did not have Lamb curry and no Mango drink. Service was slow They had two loud TVs lagging in sound since on different channels … Annoying !!

I don’t understand why all the negative reviews. I think this place is awesome. food is great. not so spicy that you can’t taste what your eating. As soon as I sit down they hand me freshest made nan. they have this spicy yellow fish that I’ve not seen anywhere else. I’ve only been there for the buffet and it has always been great. the good quality for a buffet is outstanding. I’ve been there about a dozen times and never had a bad experience. In fact it’s always been great from the food to the service. Yum.

This place has REALLY gone down. There were literally 5 dishes served at the dinner buffet. The place was so unhygienic and the kitchen was so filthy and dirty that the health department needs to pay them a visit. The Chinese chicken dish was cold as hell and it was supposedly on a hot tava. The curry had lamb and not goat and there was oil floating till the top. The chicken tikka masala seemed from an earlier buffet and tasted terrible. Everything in the buffet was stale and not fresh except bread. The gulab jamuns(dessert) were hard and cold. The restrooms were also dirty. Hygiene and quality should be of utmost importance and this place lacks it.

I’ve stopped coming here for lunch. The quality has been on a downward spiral over the last 2 months or so and it got to the point where there was just too much grease in all the buffet dishes. There used to be a lady at the front counter who would occasionally drain the layer of oil on top, but I haven’t seen her in ages and the newer staff don’t seem to care at all. On one disappointing visit, I let the waiter know that the food was getting too greasy and he didn’t have a single word to say about that. Also sent an email to the owner via Unilocal, but didn’t get a response. Guess they’ve just stopped caring.

Not really happy. The last time I was here was two years ago. And today I was wondering why I don’t come to this place often. Well I guess I figured why. The service. yeah no matter how good your food is you got to give service even if you have a buffet going. I have to agree the butter chicken was something I would just lick off the plate clean. the food is good. But I had to finish a plate before I get naans and I don’t eat rice, so what should I do but wait till I get naans before I hit the next plate on the buffet. Unless this was some strategy to get me eat less. Not bad I know I am trying to loose some fat. Well in short I would give it a 4 stars but a star less only for ignorant service.

6:15 pm on a Saturday and the place is vacant. Nervous. UPDATE: Dinner’s done and I was incredibly happy with just about everything I had there. Think this place might have«carryover» bad reputation from a previous owner because my experience was nothing but pleasant. Seemed like a quaint family establishment(server was obviously owner’s son/nephew/something), which I like. Food came out quickly, was delicious(where’s the bold button here? I hate to yell ‘DELICIOUS’ but bold would be appropriate…), and very reasonably priced. Bookmarking this as a place to hit up again. Oh and +1 on the reviews of stuff being spicy when they say spicy. It’s gershdern hawt.

Decent Halal Desi food for a decent price Mehran in Fremont is pretty well known for its good food. The one in Fremont gets pretty busy during meal times. The Santa Clara location offers food that is just as yummy but skips on the crowds. Nice clean ambience… open. Ordered: Karahi Goat(brown goat curry with lots of flavor) Tandoori Chicken(bbq style chicken) Super tender Lamb Curry thought to be a bit sour, a little over cooked. Fresh Naan and plenty of it For Dessert: Galab Jamun with tiny coconut bits drizzled on top. Soft, hot and delicious. Rasmalai topped with pistachio The food was filling and well cooked over all, plenty of options. Coupons available on and Groupon. Our overall bill came out to about $ 35 minus the $ 15 we saved on Groupon(Not bad!) The service was incredible, the server came to us twice making sure all was well. Recommend for desis and non-indians looking for some curry with a side of delish.

My son took us here as he had eaten here and enjoyed it. It was a basic North Indian Buffet with a good selection and very tasty. $ 11 per person. It was a bit spicy for some in our group, but the food was very good.(And of course, adding Raita to taste by each person tones down the spice). I asked the host about the sign that said«Indian and Pakistani» food and asked which items were Pakistani as they seemed to be the same as Indian. He said that Pakistani food is very similar to north Indian, but spicier. He said that there were not any particularly Pakistani dishes that were served on the buffet that night. I recommend this place if you are in the area and want some spicy Indian food.
