Global Knowledge Training Center

The facility is good. The instructors are a hit or miss. Some times they offer a free gift card with a purchase of a training session. It’s a total lie. I’ve been to two classes and both times they will ignore your questions about the gift cards that they promised you.
My last class they changed the venue two days before it started. The classed ended up in a little conference room at a hotel a few miles from their facilities. This is the last time I’m taking a class at Global Knowledge.

People are real nice. Bring back the cookies and snacks for breakfast and lunch and I will give you 5 stars… lol… As for the important stuff which is the education and training I always appreciate Global for doing a fantastic job. Global is a training leader for a reason.

I had a great week long training session at this Global Knowledge.
My instructor was very knowledgeable about teaching VMware. He gave really good real world examples and answered all our questions.
The training facility had ample space in the class room, a large break/​lunch room, good coffee options, and different snacks from morning to evening.
I did enjoy the options from cheesecake to ice cream, cakes and cookies.

MAC Users Beware!!!
If you use a Mac, avoid this outfit! Global Knowledge uses PeopleCert for their testing. Unfortunately, PeopleCert only supports Windows and does not allow the use of Windows running under a VM (a fact not readily apparent from the contract). So, if you need to take an online test (either because it is an online course or because you need to re-​take an exam), you had better have a WinTel PC and a friend (not living with you) willing to spend a few hours proctoring your test.
The instructors are very good and the material is pretty well put together. The administration is pretty friendly until they are inconvenienced. Then, they get pretty surly.
All in all, this group is expensive, antiquated, and not entirely nice.

My desktop was supper slow to the point of unsable. Had 8 gb of RAM with 8 VM and the host.
I unplugged another pc, hoping it was mine but that was not the case. Everything was supper slow to the point it was unusable.
The exchange professor was busier telling us how good of a life he had as a consultant instead of giving me my $ 600 per day I was paying.
I told you I could make a Fortune 500 to stop doing business with you.
You should start listening and stop ignoring people.

I would say that the training classes here are fine, maybe even a 4 star experience abide a bit on the dry side but generally speaking it isn’t too bad. However, beware if you sign up for a class with Global Knowledge. They will call you until your ears fall off. They will email you, and call you, and call back and continuously bug and pester you.
It doesn’t matter if you didn’t pay for the training or you don’t have an account with them or only your company has an account with them OR you don’t even make decisions. It doesn’t matter if you don’t need any additional training or they cannot offer you anything else. It doesn’t even matter if you opt out because they will keep. on. calling.
They are extremely persistent. Which is great if they’re selling something I need. But despite repeatedly explaining that I didn’t need anything, I don’t make decisions and I’d like to opt out of being called at least once a week and left many voice mails, they will not stop. Who does this???

Signed for unlimited course program, guidelines is register for class 16 days prior, but they kept canceling classes one month before the date they were supposed to run. How do you sign up for a class if it is cancelled before the recommended date to schedule.
Course wise, just like any other place.

Great place to lurn… provided your company shells out the thousands of dollars a week’s course cost.
Lots of free parking in the garage out back, hopefully you aren’t taking class when a big convention is going on; parking will be scarce.
Registration and checkin is a breeze.
They provide continental breakfast daily, free drinks, snacks. They also have 2pm snacks that varies, and one of the breakfast days was a hot meal!
Class is usually 8:30a-4:30p, with an hour lunch depending on instructor.
All of the courses I’ve taken at GK, the instructors were great. All knowledgeable and have high level background experience.
They have free wi-​fi and free communal computers, however, watch what you surf as who knows what is lurking; keyloggers, trojans, viruses, etc.

The Global Knowledge center in Santa Clara is quite nice. They have plenty of parking and it’s pretty easy to get to get to from 101. They offer you free drinks, small snacks and some form of continental breakfast in the morning. The fruit and donuts could be a little fresher. I had one instructor there who was really good, and she make it positive experience. Ask for free WiFi info from the people at the front desk. Hi highly recommend them for IT training, if you can afford it. Good food was hard to find in the area.
