I can’t remember that I have ever dealt with a more unreliable contractor than the owner of this business. He made an appointment and he did not show up. When I called, there were no apologies but he said he would call in 45 minutes. No call. I called him a couple of days later to make another appointment and he said he would call in 15 minutes. No call. Do not get stuck with this person.

I had Ed’s Glass work on another screen and also reworked some issues with a broken window crank(40 year old crank window) and all went well. He saved me some money on the crank by re-using some of the old mechanism which I really appreciated. I thought he would need to make a second visit for the screen and I dreaded having to take time out of another day to finish up but he actually went and got the parts he needed and came back to finish up– all within an hour or so– Awesome service!

Ed’s Glass and Screen does quality work at reasonable prices. He will either come to your home or business or you can drop off an item at his home office in Santa Clara near El Camino Real. Nice guy. Reasonable prices.

Previously Ed repaired a window screen for me and took 4 weeks to do it. I needed the screen replaced in a sliding door so I could not take it to him. He told me that he would charge $ 115.00 to come out to do the replacement in my driveway. Although very high in price considering this is only a screen, I was stuck as I do not have a truck to carry this to his shop. More than a week in advance we agreed on an appointment time. I stayed home today as he was scheduled to come between 10 and 12. He did not show up nor did he call. When I called him at 12:18 he acted completely unconcerned that he had inconvenienced his customer. He did not even apologize or say when he would come. So I said goodbye to him and his rudeness.

I work for a contractor in Santa Clara. We have been using Ed as our window and door subcontractor for years. He is always very friendly and professional when he comes around the office. On all occasions he completes the work diligently and efficiently. If he wasn’t the best, we wouldn’t use him.

I have a 1920 bungalow in downtown San Jose. Six of the original double hung windows did not open or close properly. They varied from the window that opened and closed with a slight effort to the kitchen window that I literally had to fight to open. I tried to find someone to get them to work right. Not very many people seem to know how to do this kind of work. I finally found Ed. He came to my home the following day and gave me a very fair price on the work to be done. He said the ropes needed to be changed and the old paint build up and debris needed to be cleaned. He started the work and I could immediately tell he knew what he was doing. He carefully took the windows apart and replaced the ropes and cleaned and scraped. I now have six windows that work beautifully and lock properly. He said he was going to do the work as if it was his house. He came through. I was worried about damage to the wood, but everything was done with extra care. Do not replace your double hung windows. I can now get many more years of use out of my original windows thanks to Ed.

I recently I replaced all my condensated window glasses through Ed. He gave me a very reasonable and affordable estimate and scheduled a date for the replacement. He arrived on time and finsihed the job with quality. His glasses have 20 years warranty and I am very satisfied with the quality of his work and materials. He is also pleasant to deal with.
