Did my wedding here and I have been their regular customer too. Super fast but he knows which hairstyle fits ur head. He is also more than welcome to share his hair styling tip. Can’t complain. Lastly, the make up artist we used for our wedding is knowledgeable for Asian faces for sure. :)

Not sure what all the bad reviews are for. The guy is amazing at what he does and he was quite friendly when I went there. Invest the $$$ into getting a good hair cut, it will make a world of difference on your appearance.

I have been a regular customer for 3 – 4 years. The owner is really professional and has been giving me best hair style outcome that I have been describing. People are generous and understand well what customers need. Two thumbs up!!!

I have a very difficult hair. I checked out so many hair salons in the bay area but not one of them was able to cut my hair right. About three years ago, my friend’s recommended this place to me and since then, I’ve been a regular customer here. He’s the only one who knows how to cut and style my hair right. He’s also very personable once you get to know him. This is really the best hair salon in this area.

I normally don’t write reviews, but this place is so amazing that I feel obligated to write one.
I’ve been to many other high-​end Korean hair salons in San Jose area, but here is my favorite place now.
The salon is modern with huge floor length mirrors, very clean, elegant.
When you first walk in, the assistant washes your hair and massages your scalp using gentle techniques, and also brings complimentary drinks.
I usually tell Ban how to cut my hair and he never disappointed me.
He definitely is my one and only who could cut my hair. I can’t thank enough to Ban who did a fantastic job.
My wife is started coming here for coloring and perm as well. Like most women, she is very picky about her hair, especially because she has that typical Korean hair — thin and lifeless
I 100% highly recommend Ban as your next hair stylist.

ok this is my very first review on Unilocal.
since i have been getting a lot of compliments on my hair from people, i have decieded to write a review.
i get my hair colored and cut and sometimes get a perm since my hair is so straight and thick.
i like my hair with a lttle bit of curl (very lttle) at the end.
i got a perm done last year and i still have little bit of curl to my hair, which is great and i dont need to curl it myself,
which i have been used to doing.
i just wash and dry (use a blow dryer with some light brushing)
so my life has gotten much easier!
i think the best hair designers are those who make your hair easy to do yourself.
when you leave the salon your hair is always perfect but the most important part is
doing it yourself after you get home.
he makes my hair easy to style myself.
and color! i’ve been getting my hair colored for a long time. i also get a lot of compliments about my hair color.
some people ask what color it is at random places, like the mall, while walking around town, in stores, etc.
but i feel bad at times because i cant answer what color my hair is because my designer, Ban, he customizes the color himself.
that is why i like Ban. i have heard he has worked with korean celebrities in korea and has a lot of experience with all types of hair and styles.
so after i got my hair done a few times now, i am a total fan of his! But i understand where ever you get your hair done, you have to
go at least a few times so you and the designer are familiar with each other and knows what you want done with your hair and how you like it.

I’ve been coming to e# for as long as I can remember and have no plan on switching. My hair is described as a weirdly grown thick fur and e# is pretty much the only place that I’ve had positive experience with.
Friendly and personable owner and staff. It is a private business and owner does all the styling and cuts himself so you know what to expect. You don’t need to call and ask for any one specific; you’ll get the consistent results that I’ve personally enjoyed over the years.

The male stylist was so rude. He did not even bother to greet the customers in the first place. He even gave me a mean look when I came in. And he did a terrible job with my husband’s hair. His cut was so outdated and made my husband head look flat. Both customer service and quality of hair cut are beyond crap. He charges freaking $ 35 for men’s haircut. DO NOT waste your money there. Totally not worth it.

I started to visit this place recently and I think I just found the best hair style for me. I often have tangled hair on sides and they fixed this trouble with using some chemicals (I don’t know the exact name). This will definitely make my hair more stylish. So far, I like this place. went to get a haircut and I can definitely tell he didn’t give a shit and did the worse job he can do.
I know he can do a better job, but his attitude towards new customer is beyond crap.
Don’t go there unless you want a shitty hair.

$ 35 for a men’s cut is typical fare around here, but that doesn’t mean it’s really worth it.
The main men’s cutter knows a few template trendy cuts and is sort of rigid about doing them. He doesn’t speak much English and does not adjust much to what you ask. He also is overworked and very short on time, so your cut might get rushed.
The end result really depends on if his interpretation of the cut you want looks good on you. He’s good at 2-​block cuts and faux hawks because that’s what most dudes get. Honestly, it’s nothing special.
For $ 35, I used to get 2 washes, and an hour of attention from a great, popular stylist back in Canada. Here, you get a wash, 10 – 15 minutes of time from their main stylist and 20 – 30 minutes of time from a junior.
Not a bad place to go, but nothing exceptional. Do not go if you have a complicated cut and cannot speak korean.

I have cut my hair here since the place was opened and have not been disappointed once. The stylist is very up to date on the current trends. If you are up for k-​pop or k-​drama, just print out pictures and he will make your hair just like Korean Idol style. You may find this place very busy with customers… Think the demand and supply which we have learned at college. Good place will attract many customers. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Got the color done with my two girls, this place is awesome, Olivia was super nice and friendly. We all get what we want ! Highly recommend to you guys come to try! If you like Korean style this is your best choice

I went there with my friends today. There is a very nice place!!! the employees are very nice and patient, they have a employee who’s name Olivia, she has very good recommendation. The korean hairstylist knows what i want. He can also make a good hair style for you. I would highly recommend you guys go to this salon.

Bansuk is a true artist at work. He works magic with his scissors. My son has been coming to him consistently for cuts and hair wave-​he knows the latest styles and keeps current with his skills. Shop is clean and staff is cordial.

I was really grateful that he took me in as a walk-​in even though Unilocal said «appointment only». My observations may not be a fair and consistent reflection of the business and the employees there. I want to give them the benefit that maybe somebody was in a bad mood or having a bad day. but still– this is my experience, the total package.
1. I“m Korean and I’m sensitive so the «noonchi» (7^th sense/​common sense) is a bit higher. When I came in, the assistant who could be my mom was hesitating to accept me as a walk in (completely understand) but i sensed the way she asked Ban, perhaps wasn’t his preference.
2. Ban is extremely quiet. If you like that, that’s great. If you don’t, it’s awkward and uncomfortable. It just kills a lot of the experience when the owner «looks» unhappy to have a customer there. I don’t think they have to be fake but at least be welcoming, show some teeth, don’t look depressed and as if life sucks. He didn’t seem interested in my needs.
3. His interaction with his assistant didn’t sit right with me. If anything his assistant was what kept me feeling welcomed and comfortable. She smiled and was at least making an effort to appreciate the business I was bringing them. The way he spoke to her or did gestures to her wasn’t discreet and it was obvious there was tension.
4. Ban is talented. I’ll give him that hands down. I felt great about the hair and how he he cut it (although there’s this slight mistake in the back but I’m okay with it). For $ 50. It’s on the high end for me but the quality was acceptable for the price. The experience however. was equivalent to a $ 10.00 barber shop IMO. I“m sure some barber shops provide a much better environment than this.
Would I go back? If I had money to blow and didn’t give a rat’s tail about environment & experience. Suuure.
I really think he’s skilled in his occupation… unfortunately that doesn’t always win customer’s business. A customer should feel better when they leave the building – that didn’t happen. I hope he can find ways to improve or work on those areas of customer service and salon atmosphere. There’s a lot of potential in this business.

If you are very picky about the outcome, and you want to have a great haircut not only going out from the salon but also for some time longer — this is the place!
The hair looks great after washing — easy to style.
