Church of Scientology Mountain View

The staff here is so helpful and kind. Didn’t know anyone here walking in, and really have become friends with everyone here. Love it! I just keep coming back, and I’m so glad I have.

I’m giving it three stars because I initially greatly valued the Mountain View Org and paid thousands of dollars for services. But when I ran into some life issues, which coincided with a limitation of my funds, my friends at the Org coincidentally stopped talking to me. All the principles of communication in Scientology like Reality, Affinity and Communication went up in the air only leaving me to wonder. Never got to finish one class because I was told there were others I needed to take online first, eight to be exact. No Scientology reference was ever provided to me to explain that. No money was returned or credit given to me. I was told the fees I paid were a «donation.» That was news to me. As a contact attorney, my understanding was you pay for something with an express purpose and expect to received the benefit of the bargain. But not in this case, though I tried for over one year before just letting them have it even though it was not a donation because I did not give it to them for that reason. For some Scientology is a religion, for me it was a philosophy I was studying. Like many Scientologists, I had to face a lot of backlash when I was studying Scientology, and constantly defended it. I was always saying and thought they weren’t just trying to get my money. And I do value the life work L Ron Hubbard spent to help people. But ultimately, my friends in the Org turned out to be fair weather friends never to be seen or heard from again. I also had my privacy of confidential information disregarded by having confidential information passed around on numerous occasions, information I thought was only for my auditor to know told to him in confidence, or even having my phone number passed around without my permission. On the bright side, I did have a lot of gains from the Purification I had, but unless you’re willing to spend a lot of money, and as in my case lose some money, that’s something to consider. As I said, I actually love the principles of Scientology and wanted to learn them in depth at a model org, but maybe the Mountain View org is still in the process of getting there because in my case decisions were made without references provided, so it was random, and Scientology is not a random science. How they arrive at some of their decisions only they know, and in Scientology there are always references, in my understanding at least. The Mountain View Org also did not maintain confidentiality with the information I told my auditor, and other Org members would make remarks about information I had told my auditor in confidence. I felt they need to improve keeping information confidential. Overall, I’ll remember my experience for the gains I made and wish I could have continued to learn about Scientology from a model org who follows and upholds all the principles of Scientology as LRH intended. If I could have gone to the San Jose model org, I’d be studying Scientology today, but since the Mountain View org wouldn’t approve that, I have to have a successful life without Scientology. One can also live successfully without Scientology with programs like Art of Living that give more flexibility, but Scientology is great in theory. I’ve seen a lot of good come out of it as well which is why they get 3 stars.

I did have a good experience there, gave them like $ 100K over the years. They will expel you at the drop of a hat it seems like. If you have friends or family on the inside, they will not be allowed to speak to you again. It is a very effective control mechanism. Yes, you CAN get something out of Scientology. Yes, there definitely IS a dark side.

All I found at the Church of Scientology was a bunch of nice and well rounded people. They offer a lot of good knowledge that most people can benefit from.
It’s true that they can be pushy when they try to sell books. But no more pushy than my girlfriend can be when she wants me to act a certain way. I assume that like my girlfriend, they believe that what they are pushing is the best thing for me. So they can’t understand that I don’t want to take part of it NOW. And like my girlfriend, or any other person who tries to convince me, if I stand my grounds they just let go.
I think if you are afraid of people who try to sell you something with passion, it says a lot about them, but it also says a lot about YOU.
These people are just selling what they know works.
DISCLOSURE, I read a few of their books but I am not a member of their church… You don’t have to be to learn more about Diantetic and Scientology.

Some weirdo accosted me here trying to get me to sign a petition about ritalin. when I brushed him off, he actually followed me down the street, screaming that I was killing my kids with drugs. WTF???
