I had the Nutella dessert crêpe and it was BOMB.COM! I wish there was a bigger size but realistically it was the perfect portion for dessert! I unfortunately inhaled it before I could even take a pic! LOL

We’ve been having several food trucks coming to our office and this is the best. The food is fresh and delicious. Perfect crepes filled with your choice of the featured filling that could also be made as a sandwich on a really good fresh bun. Fresh green salad also included wlith the crepes… delish! The desset crepes are wonderful…

The first time I encountered them, they were GREAT. Really. This last time I encountered them, they were GROSS. Unfortunately. I suspect if you get things while they are super busy then they give you something fresh. Otherwise they might well give you something that has been sitting around and sucks. To wit: desert crepes are gross when the crêpe is cold. And even grosser when it tastes like the burned part of caramelized onion or some such. Disappointment for $ 5.

DIDNOTCLEANHANDS after handling cash then touched the food. It looked good but I’m not gonna eat that.

Okay seriously, this truck blew me away. I was skeptical, to say the least, about the French-Indian fusion I saw on the menu. But WOW — and I’m being literal — this is in the top 3 of food trucks I have ever had. I may need to start tracking them down on a weekly basis just to have another fried egg sandwich and butter chicken taco/crêpe-y thing! I lucked out with their short lines, and boy am I happy I didn’t waste my time on another BBQ truck and was brave enough to try this! The butter chicken crêpe-y taco item was amazing, with little pieces of aloo(potato) and authentic-tasting butter chicken pieces. The fried egg sandwich had a runny yoke but a crisp, battered, solid-egg-white outside, on a buttery bun with a slice of pickle on top. I got those two, plus the side salad, for $ 10! Can’t speak for the sweet crepes or anything else really, but the Indian fusion dishes were spot on. Thank you Banjara — I haven’t stopped talking about your food since last week! Updated on Sep 16: Only issue I have is their defunct website. How can food trucks function without a good website, or a facebook or something on which I can see their schedule for the week? I would say it might be okay since they«have» a twitter account, however it’s Sep 16 today and their last tweet was Sep 8 so… Banjara, you have a happy customer who’s willing to drive to you and bring other customers with me… The memory of your delicious crêpe-y taco item is fading and I need to fulfill my craving for the egg sandwich too ;) Please get on top of your media!

Had a Frenchy crêpe with chicken, Brie, spinach, melted onions and something else. Came with a side salad of butter lettuce with a lemon + shallot tasting dressing for $ 9.50. Really tasty, fresh and enough for my husband and I to split with a side of garlic naan and veggie skewers for dinner. The naan pizza with shiitake mushrooms looked awesome too. Yummy Near East meets European combos with fresh, healthy but delicious ingredients. Best food truck in San Jose so far. Recommend!

Cool twist on Indian grub. Crêpe, torta or omelet as the vehicle. Had the Frenchy which had brie, chicken, spinach and onions, bolstered by a side of the potato hash with cheese. All very tasty. Folks are friendly and they get the food out fast so no complaints!

The truck was in front of our apartment complex tonight and I got the frenchy sandwich. I was really tasty and the Brie they used was excellent. The side salad was okay, the dressing was a little sweet for my taste but this is a personal preference. My husband got the frenchy crêpe and it was a little bland and needed some hot sauce to kick it up. Would definitely try their desert creeps. Rosemary lemonade was so refreshing, wish I’d gotten two!

Today I forgot to bring my lunch to work. When I arrived at work I checked online for which food truck would stop by and see what they had to offer. The veggie crêpe was amazing as well as the customer service. The lady that works there talks sweetly to the customer and she talks professionally to her colleague to ensure people’s food were prepared in the order it was received. I would recommend hiring a third person to handle only the cash to increase efficiency and enhance cleanliness. I would see the lady working there touching the cash and then dealing the food. At least she was using tongs when she was handling food. The menu written in chalk is cute, however I had a hard time reading it since it was cluttered. I was able to choose what I wanted to eat online prior to my arrival. Huge plus that the menu is online. I will surely recommend this food truck to others and come back for more.

Cost Vs Taste Vs food quality. So I have to say that the food quality is decent, not top notch but decent coming from a food truck(but since this is in fashion, it’s not something that would hinder the quality now). I would have to say that the food is quite decent. The home fries are expensive for how much you get,(about ½ a potato’s worth for 2.50, a bit over salted and a little over well done). Crêpe — for the bit of food, it’s a bit over priced — I would be more comfortable paying about 7.50 or so for something that I was served but 9.50 or 8.50 is pushing it. salad that came with it was about 6 sprigs of mix springs and ½ a tomato slice… doesn’t really count as a salad if I can take it all in 1 mouth full. anyway, I would not come back unless I was desperate for food.

Tried this food truck out at a company lunch. I had the Aloo Gobi Crêpe. Basically, it was a dosa filled with aloo gobi, along with the usual dosa condiments(mint chutney, yogurt). I love Southern Indian style food and this was great. Nicely flavored. The dish came with a nice green salad on the side, which was also nice. All in all, well balanced flavors. The one thing I will note is that the crêpe goes from crispy to soggy pretty quickly. But I had to eat it while working at my desk and didn’t get to it for 10 – 15 minutes or so. Since this also happens with regular dosas, I won’t knock them for it. They had some other interesting fusion offerings of crepes and sandwiches(Southern, French), but they all looked a little rich for me. I was very happy with the Vegan Indian crêpe. They also had Vegan Indian style shortbread cookies(masala spice etc). I broke my no sugar rule and got both of them. The masala spice cookie packs a powerful punch. Quite spicy! I made the mistake of trying that one first. The second one simply tasted like shortbread. I cannot even remember what flavor it was supposed to be. The dessert crepes looked amazing. Too bad I no longer eat dessert(two tiny little cookies do not count!).

Agreed that it can be slow since there were only two people working it. Had the French, which was incredible both in taste and size. Salad was good, a little over dressed, but excusable. Took the cashier’s recommendation to do the crêpe instead of sandwich and was happy that I did.

My friend bought take-out for me and I wasn’t aware it came from a food truck till I Unilocal-ed it. Honestly, even though my sandwich was cold(my fault) it was still delicious. I can only imagine what it would have tasted like if I had it fresh & pippin’ hot. Bet it would have been amazing! It was a simple burger served with good buns and even more awesome onion frites which in my opinion made the burger! We order the chicken and the BBQ pulled pork. Both were covered with gooey melted cheese, braised greens and honey caramelized onions, topped with crispy homemade onion frites. I preferred the chicken to the pulled pork which I felt was too salty. I had this crêpe like side dish(like an entrée) which I know recognize as the Southern crêpe. It paper thin and delicious. Sorta like a korean pancake skin? Slightly pan fried. However, most of the filling mine initially had had came out. I had a few little pockets of fillings which I thought tasted like cottage cheese? It had a light cheese flavor and looks like a cauliflower if that makes any sense. Overall, impressed with a humble sandwich from this food truck. Sandwiches seldom wow me so this one definitely get 4 stars :) Maybe even 5 if I had eaten it early???

Huzzah! Another Food truck that has non-starch loaded options! For me, the main cons of this truck include: –only 2 people working, and this type of food has to be made after it is ordered so it is a very slow truck -$ 10 credit card minimum –I don’t see it at Moveable Feasts Now, my favorite thing about this truck, is that the meals all come with a side salad instead of a starch like fries, rice or noodles, and then they all have the option of being in a sandwich, a crêpe or, for those who try to avoid the filler starches, an omelette. I wish more places would give me the option to protein style their sandwiches with lettuce or eggs like these omelettes. This truck also offers desserts if you so desire. I had: –Southern Soul Omelette(BBQ pulled pork covered with gooey melted cheese, braised greens and honey caramelized onions, topped with crispy homemade onion frites): This was just so delicious. It was like having tender collard greens with some bbq pulled pork and with some gooey cheesiness and some spice. The flavors all went together so well. And like I’ve said a few times already, I loved the fact that it was in an omelette, not bread. –Vegan Chocolate Chunk Cherry Cookie: I bought this to put my order over the $ 10 card minimum. It was pretty good, although it had an odd sweetness to it for my taste buds, almost as if it was using an artificial sweetener like splenda instead of real sugar.

I’m on a grand food truck tour of San Francisco… except that the food trucks come to me rather than me going to them. The latest stop on the tour was Banjara. It’s good — really good, actually. I’d gone to the gym right before so was a little on the hungry side of things; I asked them to do a big omelette. Man, did they deliver.(It was so big they thought they were going to need to give me a box to take home. Turned out to be unnecessary.) The omelette was southern style one — all bbq-y in the middle. Never had an omelette like this before, but I will again. It was so good. Not quite 5 star good, but if these guys were outside again… Friendly service, great food, and great value. What more could you ask for?

I would always spot this truck in passing countless times so I finally gave it a shot. LEMMETELLYOUSOMETHING! this is one of the best specialty food trucks I’ve come across in the south bay/peninsula. In all my life i’ve never fancied a crêpe meal or a non-dessert crêpe, until maneesha and her bombass truck kicked me in the face with it. waste no time and just order the FRENCHCREPE. or the french omelette/sammy for that matter. it is the menu item that had this fat boy chasing down the banjara truck a second time. its stuffed with sliced pieces of chicken breast, carmelized onions, brie cheese, crushed almonds and spinach. n maybe some other stuff too i forget. it’s served on a plate with a small side of spring mix salad which is the perfect balance The second time around I ordered the southern omelette with bbq pulled pork, fried onion strings and other fat hick ingredients. I’m not gonna lie, this was also hellsa tasty and not as heavy as you would think, but I still prefer the lighter, french option. When maneesha and the banjara truck come around again I will try the mexican crêpe!

The menu sounded quite promising. You’d choose your meat then choose crêpe sandwich or omelette form. I was debating between the pulled pork or the classic(bacon egg cheese). Eventually I settled on classic because who can say no to bacon? I got mine in a crêpe. When we arrived, the lunch rush was just beginning and by the time I got my order in a line had formed. This definitely had something to do with the quality of my meal b/c as the crepes came out, they were becoming successively less browned. By the time I got mine, there was absolutely no browning on my crêpe and when I bit into it, it tasted kinda soggy. Also, the cheese they used was just kraft american. Quite disappointed. A coworker got a pulled pork sandwich and that looked quite good but in all honesty, how can you mess up a pulled pork sandwich? Definitely one of the worst food truck experiences I’ve had :\

I really enjoyed their crepes(had them at the PAIFF this past weekend), friendly and quick service, great bold flavors! We had their 3 sample crêpe: French Style — also fairly good, this has fresh spinach, makes you feel a bit more fresh and healthy, the Brie is actually pretty mild, but those onions were delicious, and you could definitely get that hint of citrus in the chicken, which was refreshing. Southern Soul — pulled pork in a crêpe?! divine. Very strong flavor and tender meat, carmelized onions… definitely the favorite out of the savory combos Dessert(nutella) — so bomb. I could eat this everyday. Everyone’s had a nutella crêpe before but their almond brittle adds a whole other level of flavor(and great texture) that really goes well with nutella. The vanilla also isn’t too sweet and helps to meld everything together. Heaven. Heaven my friends.

What a great NEW food truck! I really hope they don’t let their quality in food, taste, and service go when they get bigger, because they will get bigger! I was pleasantly surprised with this food truck, I’ll admit, when I got my food and tasted it, it was something I expected to get from a fine dining restaurant not a food truck, how awesome is that!!! Their menu is cool, you can order your choices either in a crêpe, omelette or sandwich. I ordered the Southern Soul Sandwich which was slow cooked BBQ pulled pork layered with braised greens and honey bacon caramelized onions, topped with homemade onion frites. What a great sandwich, and I would have totally expected to get this sandwich in a fine dining restaurant. The slow cooked BBQ pork was delicate, moist, and had a great smoky flavor. The braised greens were… well hell I didn’t even know I liked greens until I ate these, so they were good! and Hello, honey bacon caramelized onions, please, you can’t go wrong with that combination. The homemade onion frites were crisp, perfectly battered and fried, and not oily, very nice finish to a fine dining food truck sandwich. Great job Banjara Bistro, I can’t wait to have you back at our office!
