I’m obsessed with this place. Best sushi I’ve ever had. I love the 49er roll it’s my favorite one on the menu. I can say I eat at this restaurant at least once a week. So you can say I’m a regular. You would never expect MALLSUSHI to be so fresh and delicious. AAAAAMAZING!!!

The front desk girl was so mean. The food was ok. Terrible service! Never go back again!

Great food, friendly service, good place to bring your family even though it’s a small place. Would recommend Lion King and Lucky 7 rolls.

Slow service and it was not busy. Brought wrong order. Server dropped and ran. Then missed items we ordered. Food was average and smaller portions.

The sushi here is actually really good for mall food. The 50% off all rolls on Monday through Friday from 4 to close is so worth it since sushi is pretty pricey. The service here is pretty good but food does take a little longer than it should to come out to the table. If you’re ever shopping at Valley Fair and are hungry, definitely give this place a try!

I came here with my boyfriend for his birthday. We are from Sacramento and we absolutely love the Arigato sushi there. This one however was not as great. I asked my boyfriend later that night when we got home how the food was and he said he remembers it tasting better. I agreed. Not that it was bad! It just wasn’t mind-blowing like it usually is. However, our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She wished my boyfriend a happy birthday and conversed with us about it. That was really nice! And the 50% off was great too! In summary, the service was great, the food was okay.

I am very particular about my Japanese food. Over the past thirty years, I have made a habit of including some in my diet at least twice a week, sometimes hunting down the best dives in whichever corner of the world I found myself in. Now that we’ve settled in California, I I have learned to downgrade my expectations when dining out. There is no way you can get Japanese food here the way they make it abroad, you can’t even get good Chinese food like what they have in Hong Kong. That is, until I tried this place. I wasn’t expecting much. This was a mall sushi place after all and I could tell right away that the chef wasn’t Japanese but I needed a place to sit down while my daughter shopped for cosmetics. The place looked great and I guess it would be ok if I got something that was slightly better than the Japanese food they serve at Chinese buffet places here. I ordered the Sashimi lunch and I was surprised with what arrived at my table. The presentation was elaborate and artistic, they took the time to shave a lot of ice to place the fish on. The sashimi cuts were also good and fresh. Nice, thick slices which means they were cut from choice fillets and not the leftover scraps you normally get. My order had Maguro, Salmon, Hamachi and other serious cuts. None of the gross flavored Tilapia slices that some places try to pass off as traditional saltwater finfish sashimi. The wasabi clump I got could be improved but this is by far, the best Sashimi platter I have had in this country. Next time, I’ll have to try the sushi. That is no small compliment considering that I have had nothing good to say about most of the Japanese places here. I also tried their Tempura Udon and it was good. My daughter liked the Box E vegetarian bento. She’s vegan but she decided to eat all of it despite our server being unsure whether they used egg in the tempura batter or not so it must have been good. I don’t mind driving long distances for a great meal and I will be coming back soon.

Whenever I shop at Valley Fair I always eat here to get my sushi fix. Although the sushi here is good, along with their poke bowls and bento boxes, the customer service can be lacking. I went here with my family recently and we waited far more than usual to get our(not so complicated) sushi rolls. Other customers who arrived later than us were receiving their food before we did, and they were sushi rolls as well. A lady spoke up to the bar asking where her sushi was, and she had been waiting longer than we did, letting us know that clearly our orders had been forgotten or not cared for. Good sushi, however not sure if I want to come here as often as I used to until their service picks up.

Service was great! However, I’m giving it 3 stars because that’s about the quality of the sushi. For half off sushi rolls during happy hour, each roll came out to about $ 7.45, so this place is enough to satisfy your sushi cravings without going over budget. Got the Noël, Mango Tango, Dragon, and Rainbow Roll. Dragon and Rainbow weren’t as great as other sushi places, but Mango Tango and Noël were good! If I were going out specifically for sushi, it’d still be Kenzo or Sen Dai. But a mall sushi store isn’t bad and it passes!

Service was great, in the middle of the craziness of Christmas shopping we were seated immediately and served promptly. I ate the stuffed mushrooms and Ton Katsu. The stuffed mushroom were very tasty, with a nice contrast between crunchy and the soft mushroom. I will order those again. The Katsu was overcooked. I expect a crunchy crust with moist pork, not the case. Too bad this is one of my favorites.

Monday-Friday: happy hour after 4pm. 50% off rolls! I was skeptical of mall sushi but this place totally exceeded my expectations. We ordered 5 rolls to share amongst 3 people and it was definitely enough food. Everything tasted fresh and service was decent. I probably wouldn’t want to come here and pay full price, but for half off, it was a great value. Plus, they have one television so we were able to watch the Warriors game while grabbing a bite to eat.

Great Happy Hour! I stopped by on a Friday night for some sushi to go. All rolls were 50% off! You can’t beat that. All my rolls were vegan and tasted perfect! I also ordered a spicy edamame– perfectly spicy and salty. The appetizers were not part of the happy hour, so my most expensive item was $ 6.75 for the edamame. My new vegan sushi spot– can’t wait to return.

Great place! Very friendly, and awesome people watching available. Right inside by parking A. There are a TON of options to choose from. I had the Super Mario and Philly. Both were excellent. It was totally awesome to be there during happy hour so they were both half off! The loss of star comes from the length of time it took to recognize my plate was completely empty and clear it. I was there alone, so it’s not like there was someone else to wait for. Also, they were unable to take my Amex card, which is what my business card is when I travel. Makes it a little more of a headache for me to expense it later.

I go to this place for sushi after walking the Valley Fair mall. It is nice and the half off rolls after 4PM are the reason I go. I love being able to go to somewhere with actually good sushi that’s cheap! We’ve eaten rolls here and recently my boyfriend ordered a bento box with tempura. He liked both. I experiment with rolls every time I go and you should too. I will continue to go here but only after 4PM :)

This place is right across Andersen Bakery and Macy’s men. The ambiance is modern and great place to go to after a long day of shopping or if you’re just not in the mood to eat at the food court. The service is pretty quick in my opinion and I usually leave satisfied with a belly full of sushi :) I would suggest trying the Red Dragon, Valleyfair, and spicy tuna roll(for those love tuna anything which is me). You can also never go wrong with the regular maki and they have a wide selection of special and baked rolls. When I went here with my friend for happy hour a couple of days ago, we ordered the Red Dragon, Volcanic Scallop, and Chicken Teri roll. We waited for about 10 minutes for our sushi to be served to us but we were given a Valleyfair roll instead of the Volcanic Scallop. We told them that we didn’t order it and they said just to keep it and we wouldn’t be charged! We tipped them extra because of that. In general, mostly all of the items are pretty pricey for sushi including the bentos(which I think is way too overpriced)… So good thing they have happy hour on Monday-Friday from 4pm to close for sushi rolls ONLY! That’s really the only time I go because it’s definitely cheaper and I get my money’s worth.

Was here at the mall and decided to grab an early dinner! Was surprised this place offered happy hour :) The sushi rolls was a bit smaller than most place, but for half off it was still filling. Ordered edamame too, and it was yummy :) Very quick service! Great place to grab a quick bite of sushi inside the mall :)

COMEHEREFORHAPPYHOUR! It’s weekdays after 4PM and they give you half off rolls. It’s a great deal. Came here last week and ordered a bunch of stuff. We began by ordering a seaweed salad. It was decent, but it was TINY. Since there were a few of us sharing, it left us all wanting more. We also ordered a cold tofu as an appetizer. The presentation was very interesting. They served the tofu on top of a bowl of shaved ice, probably to keep it cold or something. The dish was tasty albeit simple. This was a great starter, and I would probably order it again. We then shared six raw oysters(once again served in a bowl of shaved ice… seems like some kind of pattern). They were fresh and I enjoyed them. Then came the three rolls that we ordered: 1) Galleria: This one came with seared tuna on the outside. I really liked this one because of its variety of textures and ways of presenting the fish. 2) North star: Simple and good. 3) Arigato: Definitely try this one if you come. It’s unique, and really challenges your palate to decipher what in the world is going on. My main complaint with all the rolls is that they have a LOT of sauce on them, which detracts from the flavor of the fish. This place is a little less traditional than a high end Japanese restaurant. Their rolls focus more on combination of sauces than the inherent flavor of the fish, which I would prefer. Nonetheless, this place is a great addition to Valley Fair, and I’m so glad there is a sushi place at the mall which I trust and can enjoy.

Same bland sushi for«half off» except this time… It took 40 mins for the food to come out… when there were only 3 tables seated in the whole restaurant. I’m sure the whole Taylor swift album was played until the food came Out. Horrible Service, mehhhhhh food and never again

Located inside Valley Fair mall, this place is a gem — especially with their Monday through Thursday happy hour! All rolls are 50% off during this time, and happy hour goes from 4 pm until their closing. My family and I stumbled upon this place yesterday and were so glad we did! Their menu has several pages worth of options, so there was a lot to choose from! We tried the following four rolls: * Orange blossom — this tuna roll comes with salmon on top. Very very fresh and yummy! Pretty looking roll too :) * Caterpillar roll — this eel roll comes with avacado on top. I love getting an eel roll whenever I go out for sushi, especially if there is someone who is hesitant to eat raw fish. * Lion King — The base of this roll is a California roll(crabmeat and avacado) and comes with cooked salmon on top, as well as Unagi sauce and tobiko. This is a baked roll(the last page of their menu lists all baked rolls), and the baked taste makes this very unique. I will definitely get this one again! * Volcanic shrimp — Another baked roll, this one has a CA roll as its base and comes with scallops on top. It is slightly sweet, but so delicious and definitely another one I will order again. On top of the food, we received excellent customer service! My mom, sister, and I left this place thinking of when we will come back and which rolls we will get next time. I will definitely update this review with new rolls I’ve tried!

Came here for their happy hour deal, M-F 4pm-closing, sushi rolls 50% off. I don’t like raw seafood so it was nice that they have a lot of options for cooked rolls. Prices are higher than other sushi restaurants so keep that in mind if you opt to go here on a weekend. We got 5 rolls. I just remember the cooked rolls that I tried. All the rolls were a good size even with the happy hour deal. Spider roll — Was happy they gave 2 large sizes pieces of soft shell crab on the ends of the rolls. I love soft shell crab, and this roll definitely hit the spot. Lion King roll — A baked roll of salmon on top of a California roll. Delicious. Bigger than other places. Sakura roll — Spicy crab meat topped with avocado, cooked shrimp, and roe. It had a small spicy kick to it. Service could have been better. From getting seated, to paying the bill, and everything in between, the service was slower than it should have been for a slow week night.
